Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Okay, so a while back I did a custom based on the Star Burning Gundam with a few Shining Gundam and Build Burning Gundam bits, which I'd called the GF15-001NJ Burning Gundam.

Ever since Breaker Battlogue, I've been wanting to do something similar with the Blazing Gundam, modifying it with some bits from - well, not God Gundam this time, but I did want to tweak it with some Build Burning and Try Burning parts.
That is now done, and I'm calling it the GF15-001NJII Blazing Gundam. Well, almost. I still haven't figured out what I want to do with it backpack-wise.

Very nice. I wonder what the Neo-Japan Gundam would look like during the 14th Gundam Fight? Maybe the God Gundam slightly modified visually or something like that. Not the first time the same Gundam would be used for different Gundam Fights.

Way I envisioned it, Domon reused the God Gundam during the 14th Fight - and won again, as indicated in the model number of the two customs. The Neo-Japan government decides on its own to develop a new Gundam between the 14th and 15th fights. I don't have too many details fleshed out, but I imagined that Domon would decline to return for the 15th Fight due to personal reasons, and a new Fighter is then selected for the new Gundam in the 15th Fight.

No indeed - IIRC, Gentle Chapman used the same Gundam for three consecutive Gundam Fights, and I suppose Master Asia counts as well, having *technically* used Kowloon Gundam in both the 12th and 13th Fights(Though the second time around it was Master Gundam imitating Kowloon Gundam's appearance, at least at first).

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

A while back, I read somewhere a comment that compared the Aerial Rebuild to the GP01Fb from 0083. That inspired this recolor, which I started working on at the time and only just got around to finishing this weekend.

I ended up also doing a GP01-inspired color scheme on the original Aerial as well, but IMO Aerial doesn't wear those colors nearly as well as its successor does.

Dark Duel, the second link takes you back to this page. Other than that I do like this recolor.

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Yeah.
On another note, I've been re-reading my old GSD rewrite, and I took some time this afternoon to do a little bit of editing on the Hyperion-G. In brief, in GSDA the Hyperion-G is developed by the Eurasian Federation as a replacement for the Dagger-series, based on the original Hyperion Gundam. During development and testing of the initial prototype(the white one), they hired a mercenary to serve as the test pilot: Canard Pars. With his assistance, they finished development and moved to a limited initial production run of eleven pre-production units.

As payment, Canard took the prototype and kept it for his personal use. But he also modified it, using some leftover spare parts of the original prototype: Notably, he re-added the forearm-mounted Armure Lumière generators and beam knife compartments in the forearms, both of which are absent from the production model. I never did do a pic of what that looked like, so I spent some time on that today.

First thing I had to do was to remove the physical shield, since Canard's version doesn't use it. I also decided to remove the machine-gun so I'd have just the base unit.
Then I needed to modify the arm to put the AL generator back on. While I was working on that, I also decided he repainted it, giving it a color scheme closer to that of his original Hyperion Gundam. But I decided for the pic of Canard's unit to put the machine-gun back in.

This was the result: The CAT1-X1GC Hyperion-G Canard Custom

Hyperion-G, an underrated grunt mech for what it is XD Interesting idea though, DD

I'm glad you like it :D I like it too - always did like the Hyperion, and the Hyperion-G was one of my favorite units from an otherwise very lackluster manga.

Yeah, I always wished they'd done more with the Hyperion-series in general. So that's what I did. Originally, I planned on Canard's being identical to the others except color scheme. The modifications were a spur-of-the-moment idea as I was writing the final chapters of GSDA.

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Back on Macross next...specifically, Macross Frontier. I recently acquired from a friend a scan that showed this VF-25F custom color scheme, which is used by a pair of VF-25Fs that acted as Sheryl's escort during a tour to the Macross Olympia fleet circa 2064. They're 25Fs at her request, and the two MODEX numbers "1123" and "727" were selected by Sheryl as well.

Well, I got it into my head to take the base lineart of the VF-25F and recolor it in this color scheme. I've only done the fighter mode - I may at some point attempt Battroid or GERWALK mode, but so far I have not. Anyway...
Olympia Fleet Queen's Knight SMS-727
Olympia Fleet Queen's Knight SMS-1123
Far from perfect, but the best I'm able to do. They're identical except for the number markings. I realized once I was done that the number on the nose is the wrong color(black, when it's supposed to be white), but oh well. Whatever.

Very nice! I have the entire Master File book for the Messiah via a folder of images. So if you want other stuff for the Messiah, let me know. I also have the Siegfried and the Sturmvogel Master Files as well. The former is a full PDF file.

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Thanks for offering.

Switching gears again to WFM, I have a crop of recolors of the Schwarzette, inspired by the Darilbalde and the three Dilanza variants:

1 - https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 4973_b.jpg
2 - https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 4629_b.jpg
3 - https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 74a8_b.jpg
4 - https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 617e_b.jpg

I confess, they're a bit monochromatic. And that last one is really sinister-looking. First one's probably my favorite.

Next on my to-do list is a batch of Calibarn recolors...

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Spending my time off photoshopping in between other chores, so next up is a bunch of Calibarn recolors, as promised.
The first batch is based off the Lfrith lineage, including Elnora's prototype, the pre-production model, Ur, and Thorn:

1- Lfrith: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 9ae2_b.jpg
2- Lfrith PT: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 9eca_b.jpg
3- Lfrith Ur: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 80ba_b.jpg
4- Lfrith Thorn: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 9776_b.jpg

Second batch is of course based on the two Aerial variants

1- Aerial: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 1731_b.jpg
2- Aerial Rebuild: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... fea3_b.jpg

Last two are bonus recolors because I hadn't planned on doing these, I just decided to do them on a whim once I was done with the rest - based on the Gundvölva and Gundnode

1- Gundvölva: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... 39e5_b.jpg
2- Gundnode: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/530 ... e74b_b.jpg

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Thanks. Of course now in light of Ep24 I'm gonna have to go back and tweak the V-Fin in ALL of them, but that's fine. It probably would only take a few minutes to make that correction. EDIT: And it's done. I went ahead and updated the links in my previous post. Also fixed a coloring mistake on one of the beam sabers on the Rebuild colors that I hadn't caught.

Nice recolors! Give me the same vibe as all the recolors you find in the Master Archive books. But is Flickr working well for you?

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

So, inspiration struck this weekend, and I've been fiddling with the GELGOOG Menace a bit.

This is the result. Switched out the shoulders and tinkered with the head to make it look less Zaku-like, and put beam shields mounted on the forearms(as opposed to requiring a separate shield). I also gave it a new color scheme. I was aiming for something more similar to the original, but I wasn't a fan of how the grey and green looked, so I ended up going for an admittedly more Zaku-esque two-tone green. Though I also did one in the Menace's original two-tone red. I also took a stab at removing the Commander-type antenna on the crest.

All of these are without the backpack, but I did also do a set of pics with the backpack as well.

Here's a set with just the wings, no weapons:
Green(Standard)
Green(Command Type)
Red
I know I didn't recolor the backpack on the green ones and probably could have. An oversight on my part.

Here's a set with the GELGOOG Menace's single cannon and missile launcher:
Green(Standard)
Green(Command Type)
Red

Here's a set with the GYAN Storm's two missile launcher loadout:
Green(Standard)
Green(Command Type)
Red

And here's a set with no missile launchers, just two back-mounted cannons:
Green(Standard)
Green(Command Type)
Red

And finally, here's another loadout I did for the red one, which has twice the armament, with two cannons and two missile launchers.
