Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Four of them are on the side of the upper hull, midway between the two new beam guns. Two are on the front section, and one is towards the back, aft and slightly above the new gun. They’re a little on the small side because the pic I took them from was smaller than the base pic of the Tivvay and I got lazy and didn’t want to resize them.

Oh. They really do look tiny. Snort. On another note, the Zeonic green of this version really lets that Zeon Emblem on the prow of the ship to pop out. Never even noticed the original having it till I saw your take on this and checking the original lineart. Anyways. Have a quick question for you Dark Duel. Do know where can I find the lineart for the AOZ version of the Endra? I remember seeing it once, but now I cannot find it anywhere.

Yeah, they are. At some point I plan to go back and tweak that, but probably later on. As for the color, I was inspired in part by *Unicorn* which had its Musaka-class in a muted green rather than the original red, but I agree that the emblem does pop a lot more against a more muted background color.

Thanks! Huh. I actually liked the top version better than the bottom one. Since those extra engines kind of block the main guns which are hidden behind those Pegasus Class like side panels. Never really liked the design of the Endra Class till I saw the AOZ Verison a few months ago. Then your version of it looks quite interesting. Though I wonder if you could do a slight redesign to the modernized Axis version from that image similar (the top one) to your AOZ Verison.

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Probably. It's a simple enough matter of transplanting the redesigned cannons onto the Endra hull and removing the extra cannon. Might give it a shot over the weekend.

In the meantime, just a random thought that occurred to me last night: Zeta Gundam(Wave Shooter variant) in Psyco Gundam-inspired colors

Nice! A Titan's version of the Zeta Gundam. Though I have to wonder I remember seeing a dark-colored Nemo in one of the Alt-Paths of Gundam vs Zeta Gundam. I wonder how that would look in lineart form.

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Yeah, there were Titans Alts of all the AEUG models, and vice-versa. The Z and ZZ had Gundam MkII-style two-tone dark blue color schemes, and the AEUG Gaplant has a red-and-white color scheme that looks a lot like the Z-Plus A1 demo colors
I chose to go for a Psyco Gundam-inspired color scheme because I thought it'd look cooler.
Also, because I like putting Four in the Z when I play the Titans arcade route in G vs Z

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Glad you like them. I also recently did this, which takes that land variant of the Alexandria and converts it back into a spaceship. I see it as a light escort ship - low mobile suit capacity compared to an Endra, but a fair amount of firepower for its size.

I also went back and edited that Tivvay-class edit I did last week to correct the scale on the AA turrets, and I went ahead and ported the modified dual MPCs from the Musai-esque AoZ Endra variant over onto the original Endra(still, of course, using AoZ-style art for it)

On a non-ship-related note, ages ago I did this set of image mods of one of my favorite Z characters, Four Murasame. The left three, of course, are in Titans uniforms and in a modified version of her normal suit. The right two are a white recolor of the same, plus AEUG uniform. I have absolutely no idea as to the plausibility of this scenario or how it might come about. IIRC, I got the idea originally after playing a round in Gundam v. Zeta Gundam with Kamille's story route, and one of the alternate routes has Four surviving and deploying with him.

Anyway, I recently got my hands on some better-quality character art pics, so I decided to revisit the same concept.

Here's the TITANS version:
uniform
normal suit

I hesitated whether to keep the uniform pants white(like on the second of the original images, and like Mouar in the series) or go with a darker color(like Reccoa/Sarah in the series, and more similar to the first image). The dark ended up looking better, so I went with that.

I also did the other, less formal-looking uniform, based on the one worn by Emma prior to her defection.

And here is the AEUG version:
uniform
normal suit

Kept the colors pretty much exactly the same this time around.

Grate work on those Endra ships, I to hated the stupidly placed rear facing gun. And how many MS's does that Alexandria light escort ship have and where is the hanger and catapult ?

In the front of the ship by the looks of it. Kind of similar to the Chivvay/Tivvay it looks like.

Not sure about how many, but probably around 6 to 8 at the most. The hangar is in the front section of the ship, with the catapult hatch in the bow.

ORX-005 Gaplant edit. Started off as just a recolor into a two-tone blue color scheme rather than the original green-and-blue. Then I had the idea to tweak it to see how it would look with a EFF-style visor rather than/covering the mono-eye.

I think it turned out all right.

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Thanks.

In between rewatching Z Gundam again, I played a few rounds of Gundam vs Zeta on my aging PS2(yes, I still have a PS2, and it still works), and I got the idea to fiddle around with doing a recolor of the Titans Color ZZ Gundam. I also did a minor variation of the same in black, along with a slight alteration of the ZZ's original color scheme, basing it on the darker blue of the AEUG-color Gundam MkII. I might do the same with the Zeta at some point.

I find it kinda funny... the Titans ZZ actually looks more threatening in your take, while the darker blue lines it up better with the Zeta and Mk-II design-wise

I still like it though XD

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

I got the idea from Episode 1 of Z, which is called "The Black Gundam" - meaning that although the Titans-color MkII is two-tone dark blue in animation, it's actually supposed to be black. And I figured I'd do ZZ to see what it looked like.

I do agree that black looks more intimidating, but I actually still think aesthetically the blue looks a bit better

And on the subject of recolors, on a whim I did the same three color schemes on the MSZ-008X2 ZZII from BFT: Island Wars

AEUG colors
Mobile Suit mode
Waverider mode

Titans(blue) colors
Mobile Suit mode
Waverider mode

Titans(black) colors
Mobile Suit mode
Waverider mode

Nice! I actually like this Zeta Machine then the Double Zeta or the real ZII. I know I asked this earlier, but can you do the same for the Nemo? You know the Titan Color/Black Variant with the Red Visor we saw in one of the alternative timelines for the Gundam vs Zeta Gundam Game. Pretty please!

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

I think I prefer the ZZII to either the ZII or the ZZ as well, but that's primarily because I've never been terribly fond of the ZZ, which almost feels like a technological step backwards from the Z to me, moving to an unnecessarily complex multiple-module construction as opposed to a singular unit. In that sense, the ZZII or the Theta Plus from Moon Gundam both make more sense IMO as a high-firepower successor to the Z.
And the ZII is too similar to the Methuss for my taste.

As for the Nemo...well, I don't really do requests anymore(I may not be able to do this at all for much longer, with the shape my laptop's in), but I think I might actually have done that recolor already a while back, using the UC lineart for it from around the time the recut series was airing. I'll dig around my external hard drive to see if I can find it.

EDIT: Found it. And you're in luck, because it turns out I'd also done a black variant too. I cleaned it up just a bit and reuploaded it.
