Sydney Sweeney is in final negotiations to star in the live-action Gundam movie coming together at Legendary, sources have confirmed to Deadline. Sweet Tooth showrunner Jim Mickle is set to direct the new Gundam, co-developed between Legendary and franchise owner Bandai Namco Filmworks, from his own script. Mickle will also produce with his partner Linda Moran through their production company Nightshade.

Teaser released for The Ghost in the Shell

Bandai Namco Filmworks revealed a new trailer and the main staff on Saturday for Science SARU's new Ghost in the Shell television anime series that is slated to debut in 2026. The new anime is titled Kōkaku Kidōtai THE GHOST IN THE SHELL (the English title is The Ghost in the Shell). Moko-chan (storyboarder, key animator for DAN DA DAN, The Heike Story, Tatami Time Machine Blues) is making his directorial debut with the anime at Science SARU. Toh Enjoe (The Empire of Corpses novelist; Space Dandy, Godzilla Singular Point scripts) is both writing and overseeing the series scripts. Shūhei Handa (Little Witch Academia TV series, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Spriggan ONA) is designing the characters and also serving as chief animation director. Additionally an image of the Motoko Kusanagi was released.
