The Story Behind Human Touch?

Is there a source documenting the story of how Warren Wiebe and his song Human Touch got tapped to be Gundam X's ED for the majority of its run (albeit half of that being in translation)? From what I gather the other artists who did English songs for Gundam in the 90s had direct connections in Japan (Jacob Wheeler was working in Japan during the relevant period and answered a call by Sunrise for songs, Donna Burke has been living in Japan since 1996) but there's no obvious connection between Wiebe and Japan, and from the liner notes of the single it was entirely produced and recorded in Los Angeles. And while we're at it, was it always meant to switch to a Japanese version of the song after the first cour or was there a poor reaction to the original that Sunrise felt the need to switch it to something else.
Well, I guess I'm a nobody...

Re: The Story Behind Human Touch?

I may be able to answer a few questions. I worked in recording studio's for many years and was involved as the assistant engineer in the recording this song. I worked many times with a Japanese production company that did many different type of recording projects. We use to do many Japanese cover songs in English for release in Japan and they would use Warren many times. They many have been the connection to Warren to this project. We also used him for another Japanese anime called Silent Mobius. Please ask any question and I'll do my best to answer

It's interesting to see the behind the scenes on how expats worked in anime projects(I think Jacob Wheeler was also a minor actor in Robot Jox in Italy, just sort of interesting how he got involved in two mech projects in two countries).
