Help finding a novel.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, however this is the general discussion forum...

I'm looking for a science fiction novel( I believe its an American book from the early 2000s , if this helps). The story starts off on a Lunar Domed city, which is attacked. The main character is a child, and flees his school to a neighborhood with battle damaged houses the resemble "Broken Teeth" according to the narration.

I can't remember anything else about the book other than this was part of the first chapter.


Does it sound familiar to anyone?
