Advance of Zeta

It's been 15 years since I started up a small forum to collect information on the Advance of Zeta photonovel and manga series from Dengeki Hobby. Now, with a recent resurgence in AoZ Gunpla released, I find myself going back again trying to round up as much info as I can. A decade and a half later and all the resources I once used have changed so I'm hoping to get some help to round up info and nail things down for this series.

I've even managed to blow the dust off my old trusty "Titans Test Team ARC", which has loads of info on the first installment of Advance of Zeta. However, the Traitor to Destiny and Dream of the Black Rabbit are mostly unknowns to me. I figured the community at MAHQ would be a good place to start gathering up this info. Plus it'd be nice to see some familiar faces while I round up this stuff, too. Thanks in Advance (pun intended)

Re: Advance of Zeta

At the very least, the names of the Advance of Zeta installments are The Flag of Titans, The Traitor to Destiny, Blue Wings of the AEUG, Mace of Judgement, and Gundam Inle - Black Rabbit Had a Dream. Admittedly only Flag of TItans has had Gunpla and video game appearances compared to its sequels though in a few years I'm sure that will change.

Re: Advance of Zeta

Thanks for referring me to the forum I started for the Titans Test Team ;)

I didn't know about the "Mace of Judgement" or "Blue wings of AEUG" AoZ series though. The other three I had heard about. Looks like I've got more digging to do!

Re: Advance of Zeta

Speaking of mere references, on the A.O.Z. RE-boot official website, where you can find all the designs (actually even more) appearing on the manga Gundam Inle - Black Rabbit Had a Dream.
Please note that the listing of the linked website starts from vol.20 because the previous A.O.Z. RE-boot installments were published on the now defunct paper version of Dengeki Hobby Magazine.

Somewhere I should have also the URLs of the official websites of The Traitor to Destiny, Blue Wings of the AEUG and Mace of Judgement... admitting they're still online (in any case, at that time I've saved a rather complete set of screenshots plus other related material — just let me know via PM in case you're intrested)

Re: Advance of Zeta

Thanks, Chris! And thanks Bilbros for the links! Looks like I've got my work cut out. Has anyone been translating the new material past Flag of the Titans? I know Mr Deacon Blues did a bunch of translating for the original series, but I haven't found much afterwards.

Re: Advance of Zeta

Yeah, there isn't much out there on the spinoffs. My perception with Western fans is that none of the spinoffs have captured the same level of attention and interest that the original series did.

Re: Advance of Zeta

To my knowledge, the only available translations of Advance of Zeta materials other than The Flag of Titans are the ones made by Deacon Blues for the two Traitor to Destiny manga, i.e. the one-shot by Yuuichi Motohashi and the suspended adaptation by Yuu Akiba.

A search on the English language version of gundam.info does actually yield some results such as the following ones:
https://en.gundam.info/news/publication ... 0350p.html
https://en.gundam.info/news/publication ... 1301p.html
https://en.gundam.info/news/publication ... 3432p.html
https://en.gundam.info/news/publication ... 5410p.html
https://en.gundam.info/news/hot-topics/ ... 2732p.html
They're more or less the exact equivalent of their Japanese counterparts...not much, albeit obviously better than nothing.
