The thing to consider is that the retsu used in this case is not the prominent fierce or heat that most of us are familiar with but alignment or column/row and paku/haku is silk. With that in mind then how about Aligned Wave Fist?

Hint, Gundam equivalent of the Ideon (sans the Wave Leader Cannon) was defeated by Mega Zeta and a custom Zaku III, the Mega Zeta isn't even at its peak since it require two pilots but only one is available.

It was, but Masami Obari was involved with both shows, and Build Fighters loves to reference Obari's past works (like having Wing Fenice do Klein Sandman's pose in the second OP, or the Ez-SR units being Gundamized versions of the Dragonars).

I'm wondering about the specifics, of what Shia taught him... not that we'll ever find out.

Apparently she just taught him basic modeling techniques. The entire point is the persona touch; rather than just being a well-made Gunpla created by someone else, Build Burning is moving closer and closer to being Sekai's Gunpla.

So the stepford cuckoo boys that were arbitering the fight, I wonder what they will be using. Because I will laugh my head off if they do either:
1. Combine into SRX
2. Jetto Sutoriiiimu Atakku!

No. It just mean that Sei made Build Burning specially for someone else, but it's Sekai who use it. So while it's good, it's hardly at full potential. Now Sekai give some personal touch on Build Burning, make it match him more than before. The same will also apply when Yuuma and Fumina help him with upgrade. It isn't about crafter's skill, it's about know the person who use it better.

Just noticed. The SK on Red Warrior can stand for Shiro Kyoda aka Plamo Kyoshiro's protagonist. But it can ALSO stand for Sandaime Kawaguchi which translates to Third Kawaguchi.

I've been told that apparently the credits suggest that Kuroda has only been involved with scenario stuff and has only recently returned to the show as episode scriptwriter.

Can anyone more informed please confirm or deny this please? Rumours run so rampant in this fandom and it'd be nice to know if the perceived dip in quality is because the former lead writer hasn't been as hands on this time.

Could explain the slight jump in writing. Hopefully Kuroda coming back has a marked impact on the quality of the show.
