Re: The Official "Identify This Mecha" Thread Ver 1.0

The two Baund Doc variants were designed by Makoto Kobayashi. The first one is the Baund-Doc III/G Twin-Head, as for the other, I couldn't find any information on it, but I posit that it may be just the single head variant of the Baund Doc III as seen here.

Re: The Official "Identify This Mecha" Thread Ver 1.0

Heya. This has been bugging me for a while, and people I've asked are as clueless as I am.

I'm having a hard time trying to find a particular anime/mecha from my childhood. It's pretty old, but I think it came out somewhere around before Nadeisco.
  • The mecha is humanoid with a white color scheme and grey joints. I think it looked like a slimmer Tekkaman Blade.
  • (unsure)The mecha was piloted by a female who claims she has been infected and it's too late to go back when asked by the MC(?).
  • The mecha has a mix of skin(?) and armor. The skin parts are mainly on areas where the joints would be. It's not a power armor since I do think the camera showed inside the cockpit with the pilot sitting.
  • Important: The mecha's primary means of attack is unarmed. It uses its hands like a knife to stab through the cores of other mechas/mechs.
    http://puu.sh/5iOtU.jpg
  • A model kit exists which features the stabby hand as an alternative hand. I'm pretty sure the model kit had exposed wiring as shown in the poorly drawn picture above. It was about the size of the average Gunpla.
  • The model kit has rubber covering that goes around the joints. Holes must be cut in the rubber cover so the joints can connect to the limbs. I'm sure of this because I got scolded for cutting one of the holes too big.
  • I think the pilot was a good character that turned rogue maybe. Her mecha stands out from the rest for being 'different'.
  • She may have attacked and killed her teammates using the stabby hand.
This has been bothering me for some time and would like some help. I've been searching for a while now but turned up with no results. I'm still searching using whatever clues I have, but it would help tremendously if someone could shed some light before I lose sleep over this.

Thank you in advance.

Sounds like the first Patlabor movie to me. Is this it?

YES YES YES. WOW. I was looking through Patlabor but couldn't find a picture that would trigger my memory. I also found the model kit in question with the skin part: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10014688
The stabby hand in the top right and rubber on the bottom left.

Thank you so much. You are a sleep saver!

Yeah, so I got some of my facts wrong, but this fixes everything.

Re: The Official "Identify This Mecha" Thread Ver 1.0

Can somebody help me to identify the Armored Shrikes from Blue Gender?
To be precise, what were their name?
I am sure there had been a number of model kits but I can't find anything about them.
The series features at least 3 distinctly different Armored Shrikes.

1.) A big bulky machine with two pilots:

2.) The most common type, slender, one-pilot type, often with shoulder attachments:
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/4594 ... io1587.jpg

3.) Elite unit for Sleepers, upgrade over the previous known for its scissor-like cutting manipulators in the back

IIRC, the last type of Armored Shrike was once called by its name.
Double Edge or something.

Still, it'd be nice to know the name of the other two mechs.
And getting some specification on these like serial number and weapon options, at least.

Your first and second images are the same. Grapple, Blues Eye, Double Edge.

Re: The Official "Identify This Mecha" Thread Ver 1.0

Thank you very much.
But are you sure on the "Blues Eye"?
Not "Blue Eye" or "Blue Eyes"?
Granted, we're talking about a Japanese anime and such mispronunciations do happen.
I also found this:
It'd be a sketch for the second mecha type:

Looking again I realize that Bullseye is probably a better reading. The source got me thinking of the color first and foremost so I didn't think of that initially. Otherwise, yeah, it would be Blues Eye rather than Blue Eye(s) based on the katakana ブルズアイ.

I was kind of hoping someone would be able to fill me in on something...

Hizack 'Marasai Scheme' Ver.

Does it exist in any Gundam-related work? Or is it just one of those special model kit only sort of things?

Re: The Official "Identify This Mecha" Thread Ver 1.0

In Kazuhisa Kondo's manga "The Revival of Zeon", there is what looks like a mass produced RE-GZ. The book has profiles showing the MS in the story but this MS was strangely not listed with them, and no listing for this MS in Mahq or Gundam Wikia. Since TROZ takes place before CCA, perhaps this was a early ground-version test type of the RE-GZ.

The closest thing I can find to that is the MSZ-007AR ZARG from the PC-98 game "Return of Zeon", which is designed by Kondo and described as a ground-use version of the Re-GZ.
Sakuya: "Whatever. Stop lying and give up your schemes, now."
Yukari: (Which lies and schemes are she talking about? It's hard to keep track of them all...)

Kinda resembles the RX-178 Mk-II B, but not quite...

Haven't heard or seen this Leo before.
Are these [1][2] official Turn A concepts?

More Ninja Gundams

Re: The Official "Identify This Mecha" Thread Ver 1.0

The first link is broken, but going by the file name it's Valder Farkill's Custom Leo from the G-Unit manga. It only appears in a single panel and is heavily shaded, so we really don't know anything about it.

The two Turn A designs come from a model magazine and have no reflection upon the show itself or its plot; they're just custom model kits. The same goes for the Ninja Shining and the two Rising variations.

I fixed the Link for the Valder's Leo. Just had to take out the "l" at the end of the address.
