Emphasis mine. Probably should have quoted that originally.
Missed that. I wonder if the solid shield has anti-beam coating, and if the beam shield resists stronger attacks.

Nothing confirmed that i know of but I don't see why not. They subbed AGE and Build Fighters and put them on youtube. Hopefully it continues with Recoguista.

So another interview, then.

I'm currently translating through the Gundam Ace one as a way to pass the summer vacation time at work. Favourite part so far?
GUNDAM ACE: What sort of changes took place from the Universal Century to the Regild Century?

TOMINO: When the Universal Century ended, what happened in its final days – I don’t know these things. You’ll have to ask the history scholars of the Regild Century about stuff like that.

I want to see more of this Tomino sass.

Heh. They're going to do a feature on past Gundams followed by a little feature on Reco few days before the three-episode compilation?

Awesome. Yes Mech action is a must. We've had enough views of Mr. Big Mouth

That "Mr. Big Mouth" is the main character, so I'd get used to seeing a lot of him. And we've had significantly more shots of the G-Self and its variants than him, we're not exactly starving for glimpses of it.

I wonder how likely that is in the first ten minutes...Tomino tends to be one for more slow-burn intros, and even if we see robots off the bat, they're rarely fighting in the first ten minutes. Hell, Turn-A's entire first EPISODE lacks mecha completely!

For my part, I think a good, effective introduction to the world and its people is more important for the start of this show. If that involves mecha fighting, great, but I sincerely don't care if it does or not. The best Gundam shows, especially Tomino's, are human stories at their core and firmly place the focus there.

The preview will be children's verses and daily life.

And I for one will be quite happy :)

But the 10 min is on Bandai Channel, infamous for region locking....

-_-

This region locking thing needs to stop.

I was wondering whether the mobile suit roster will be kept at a minimum to avoid the proliferation and devaluation of grunt designs, while Build Fighters takes care of dishing out HG kits.

Turn A Gundam had very few kits and designs as well.

At the moment, we have two Gundams, Acguy lookalike, Daugtress lookalike, and Montello.

Re: The Official Gundam Reconguista Anime Thread Mk I

You have nothing - NOTHING whatsoever - else to say about that ten minutes?

I'm taking it as a good sign that the only thing balofo could find to complain about was the odd off-looking frame of a TV anime.

Anyways, I thought it was fun, and that the music fit things well. I'm really glad that the cheerleaders don't seem too obnoxious (though I didn't know I had that exact worry until I found myself relieved). I followed the Japanese less well than I'd hoped but it wasn't hard to grasp the gist of it. Raraiya's capture felt a bit odd, like it wasn't ENTIRELY clear why she ejected, and I do wonder who is piloting the G-Self in its second appearance. Bellil seems like an alright guy too - nice and upbeat. Can't wait to see where this goes from here!

Well:
-It's done by Sunrire's main studio: 1
-It should have a decent budget. Look at how good 00 was with 50 eps with little to no stock footage. This one is 26
-Since the dawn of times they want to spend budget on the first episode so it looks good with good animated action scenes.
-The staff is good, experienced and famous
-They had the time

Still, we got 12 FPS action scenes with lots poorly drawn frames.

Hopefully we see the GBF main action animator show his skills in later episodes since this is what we're getting in September.

Re: The Official Gundam Reconguista Anime Thread Mk I

For all we know though, this could just be a choppy recording on a not so good video site. I mean, I remember Gundam Breaker's preview made the gameplay look 100 times more choppy and made it look like it was done at half frame rate.
