Gihren's Greed Endings and Movies

So I obtained the bonus disk. A couple of interesting things such as character based endings. For the most part it's a giant game editor though, and you export the saves and play them on the normal game. It includes character creation, as well as every video from the Sega Saturn Version, PS1 version, and Zeon Dokuritsu.

Here's my album of them. Some of them are amusing, like future Ryu. Also, not gonna say that Dmitri's has a Char Custom Zakrello... but Dmitri's has a Char Custom Zakrello. I am going to finish milking what I can from the bonus disk, and I'll upload the 8 mobile suits that were missing in my album to mediafire. Pretty sure I knew what MOST of them were but we'll see. Maybe I'll be surprised. Oh, and Tem Ray's ending has a picture of a Gundam with random metal glide wings in the back. Weird.

Edit Edit: The more of these endings I look into, the more random funny things I notice. Like Astonaige and Kayra in Bright's Cafe.

Mustache Bright and the family restaurant are elements from Hathaway's Flash; him rejoining the Federation though, I dunno.

And I know there are some alternate scenarios where characters who died in the OYW or retired afterwards stay on until the Zeta era, complete with updated character designs for people like Ryu, Sleggar, Garma and Kycilia.

The second picture on the left, the one that looks kind of like a space suit, is one of the "Gunboy" designs. I'm more amused by the third pic, which gives the RX-78 what look like Wing Gundam's wings.

As for the Char ending, it looks to be based off of the original Gundam novel by Tomino, in which Amuro gets killed (by Leeroy Gilliam, a member of Char's Newtype Corps) and the White Base crew forms a grudging alliance with Char to take out the Zabis. Note that Kai in particular looks mad; in the novel he comes right out and tells Char that he doesn't like or trust him, but is going along with this because it's the only option they have. IIRC, in Gihren's Greed this is the story route that results in Char getting his own Gundam.

Also worth noting, in the pic of Sayla being sworn in (presumably as President of the Republic of Zeon), the man on the left is Darcia Bakharov, Zeon's prime minister who showed up first in the MSG novel, then Encounters in Space, and in a few subsequent works like the EiS video game (Ford Romfellow's last mission is to escort him to the treaty signing) and the Plot to Assassinate Gihren manga.

Also, the pic of Matilda and Woody getting married...all the feels.

Ahh, thanks for the info. I'm trying to figure out how to get these scenarios, since the Bonus Disk specifically states that these are from the PS2 game. The bonus disk marks all the artwork, videos, and other things in the galleries with either a 'SS' for Sega Saturn, a PS, or PS2 tag to show what game they come from. I am thinking these ending scenarios might only be accessed through the IF mode that I've yet to unlock given that now I know that Char's Rick Dom and the Char Custom Gundam are in the game, and they aren't unlockable at all during the normal Zeon sequence. The IF mode might also explain the presence of Kamille, Haman, and Scirocco in the game, since they aren't part of either normal story mode.

And yeah, some of the endings are very nice alternates for what actually happens. I particularly like the one with Revil retired or on some kind of rest.

I think next I'll look through the videos to see if there is anything interesting. The game has a lot of videos in it. Even more on the Bonus Disk since it has the videos from the Sega Saturn and PS1 games, which... I thought were the same game but apparently they each have their own videos @_@

I was surprised by the amount considering that I haven't seen too many (though most are just for doing things like the anime, having Garma invade Earth, having to let him die for the funeral speech to happen, etc. And so far in my saves I haven't let any of my named pilots die.) I will say I do like the one with Cima in her Zaku I with Shiro Amada, and Cima having a small breakdown over what happened. The Operation V video where it shows them testing out the RX-78-1, Guntank, and Guncannon is also pretty cool.

I thought she piloted an MS-06C Zaku II?

I'm guessing they were trying to keep things consistent between Shiro's flashback in 08MST (where we clearly see a Zaku I doing the gassing) and the GG cutscene.

I'm also aware that in one of these games, Garma gets his own Gelgoog S (equipped with the same 40mm head vulcans as his Zaku Fs); I'm just not sure which one.

You mean like an MS-14AS Gelgoog Garma Custom?

Awesome alternate endings. Who would have thought had the Zeon won the war, the fates of favorite characters would have been different and happier. Yet I still wonder how everything can be so good living under a dictatorship which Ghiren saw the people living on earth as inferior. I played the old PS 1 game which I cant remember too well but have not played the following games after. I remember Amuro being killed by the Perfect Zeong and alternate ending for some characters.

Some of these endings have the EFF win too, like the Matilda/Woody one being if they both live with EFF Winning. In the game both Zeon and EFF are playable.

WEll, I had to create a new imgur, but basically I am going to go through the movies of the games and see all the interesting things. Weird Zaku I tank thing in this one, as well as what seems to be a prototype of the Gundam and GM, which looks sort of like the Gunboy design.

Edit: Again, if this is going off topic, I can maybe put all the content into like a megathread for the games section if you guys want. Lots of aspects to this game and interesting things to look at, so yeah.

That Zaku tank is the version that first appeared in The 08th MS Team (seen here).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but could that prototype GM/Gunboy thing be built from Zaku parts? The slightly rounded shape of the torso and the tubes coming off the backpack and give me that impression a bit.

It actually might be. A bit earlier in the video, it showed what looked like a stripped down Zaku II C type walking on a track, but from what I can see, well, compare the sideshot of the Zaku in the picture before it shows the prototype GM/Gunboy thing. That might be a federation lab with a captured Zaku II.

WELL I got a new Gihren's Greed game for the PSP, the oldest one (But yet has the best production quality since it has full videos, rather than just stills like its successor. Nowhere as many units though) and also has gameplay similar to the PS2. I never realized how dumbed down Axis no Kyoui was but War For Zeon independence and Zeon no Keifu are both... very deep compared to it. Anyway:

1. Char's Helmet is different before his promotion. It lacks horns ironically.
2. Dozle giving orders during the Battle of Loum (I just liked the pose he was in.)
3. Revil's escape craft ejecting from the bottom of his cruiser.
4. Zeon's TV Setup for propoganda around Side 6.
5. Zeon members of the group with Revil after his capture (I couldn't get the fed group, the picture didn't finish saving till after it flashed, and given that the game starts with one long unskippable video I'd rather not go through it right now.)


I'll have more amusing ones as they come up. Also, the reason it has the videos is that it is a remake of the Dreamcast and PS1 game. Knowing this, I can probably watch all the videos from this on the bonus disk from War for Zeon Independence, since WfZI's bonus disk had all the videos on it. I really need to take a look at those >_>

Edit: Yeah no, gonna use the bonus disk. This game is a nightmare with how unskippable everything is. It's not bad but it's way too slow compared to WfZI and Axis no Kyoui V. As in you cannot skip battles or any video for any reason ever. Which means everything lasts about 5-10 times longer. So yes. Gonna just watch the bonus disk within a few days.
