Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

"Surrender now, pawn of the AEUG and we will treat you honorably. For you stand no chance against both of us!"

Derrick's eyes narrowed. he hated it when people talked as though they were royalty. It infuriated him to no end. "If I'm a pawn, then what does that make you two? Don't go placing yourselves on a pedestal, you bastards!"

Without warning, he reared back his Nemo's head, only to smash it into the head of the Gaza-C, not only to (hopefully) disable the machine or disorient the pilot, but to also grant him enough time to get to a safe distance, and get the attention of the other Nemo pilots within the vicinity. He hoped that his teammates were still alive, and en route to his position.

With his saber shining in a bright pink, he pointed the burning blade of plasma at the Gaza that had told him to surrender, and spoke in a strong voice, hoping that it would cut through the static.

"It's that kind of attitude that started the One Year War and formed those damn Titans!"

Taking in deep breaths, he lowered his blade, and addressed the two Axis pilots. "If you want me to surrender, then so be it. But if you bastards want to keep fighting the wrong enemy, then I will not hesitate to cut you down!"

With that, he pointed his saber forward once more, and one could feel the intensity of his gaze through his Nemo's "eyes".

"Now then, what's YOUR answer, soldiers of Axis?"

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

Ensign Psycho

Orsino laughed, but then broke into panting heavily as he finished his kill. He finished his panting with a sigh of contentment when Alex issued the recall order. Letting himself drift away from the kill, he jetted back in the ship's direction.

Ltjg. Sanity

Marco dodged the attack again, even though it cost him a potential kill shot against the Dias. He turned to retreat, only to see another Dias charging Criss! Instinct taking over, he rushed it from behind, firing into its back.

Ensign Perma-Rookie

Criss panicked as Wales rushed her. She slammed down her retreat, firing her beam rifle wildly. She got the same feeling from when she took on Orsino in the sims- even if she hit, it wouldn't cause them to back down.

Kou Uraki, professional BAMF

Kou sighed at the kill, and turned his attention to his unit. Making good on his own order to form up, he drew his beam rifle and moved to Paris's side, firing at Pris.

Brutus Peoron, President of the Ghiren Zabi fanclub

Brutus dodged all the shots except for one, which seared his shoulder and left a nasty mark. "Is that your best? No wonder you couldn't save the dead of Sydney and America! SEIG ZEON!" He rushed Elijah, unaware of any flares or desires to retreat.

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

- Axis Zeon Mudra Detachment Vicinity -
- Zarm Team -

Tek, blood pumping behind his eyes and a snarl on his lips, was still trying to line up a shot on Allister when both of Jason’s beam rifle shots ripped through the torso of his Gaza-C. In half a heartbeat, Tek’s mind knew something terrible had happened, but was jammed with too much stimuli to process what, exactly.

“Wait, I-“ was all he could get out before he and the cockpit he was in were incinerated and his mobile suit burst into millions of white-hot pieces.

-

Lebim’s blinders fell away with the abrupt loss of her team leader. Her thoughts suddenly falling to scrambled panic, she flipped her Gaza-C back around and retreated at the highest speed that the pink suit’s MS mode allowed.

In front of her, though, she could only see the Mudra breaking apart, the dying mass that was the Kwire beyond it, and the mortally wounded hulk that was the Mandra. Her breath came in short ragged heaves and her eyes felt glued wide open as she steered right, toward the Trammel and Bindra further away from the battlefield.

Lady Haman, are we all going to die here?

- Axis Zeon Trammel Fleet -
- Endra-class Trammel -
- Main Bridge -

M’Quve’s expression never perceptibly changed throughout the entire engagement. The entire time, he stood in front of his command seat, arms clasped loosely behind his back, observing the distant flashes of exchanged beam fire and explosions without comment or emotion.

At that moment, as is by a signal nobody else could see, M’Quve raised an arm and issued and spoke in even tones, “That’s all I need to know for now. Launch the recall flares for all units and have all ships set course to regroup with the Gwanzan.”

* * *

- Axis Zeon Mudra Detachment Vicinity -
- Bindra Team -

Ball winced as he tried to veer away from Paris’s beam saber attack, only to feel the tip of the weapon burn through the right dorsal side of his MA-configured Gaza, damaging the part that becomes the right shoulder binder in MS mode.

Otherwise, he was pleased to see the One-Two maneuver had met with some success, as the AEUG team they were attacking appeared to be scattered to some degree. Bindra Team just didn’t seem to be making any progress beyond that. Then he saw the withdrawal flares from the Trammel and wasn’t sure whether to be annoyed, disappointed, or relieved.

“Team, that’s the recall signal. Fall back.” He homed in on Pris’s location and squeezed off knuckle buster shots at Al to keep him away.

Renard also saw the recall flares, but of more immediate importance was the volume of incoming fire from a Rick Dias team flying in to support the Nemos. Renard pushed away from Nikolai and the path of the incoming fire and shot his knuckle buster at the widest setting possible at the incoming shots in effort to detonate the bazooka shots before they could reach Nikolai, then another shot aimed more generally at the incoming Diases.

“Keep moving or you die,” he said flatly to the young pilot he’d assisted a moment ago. Without giving Nikolai any further attention, Renard dipped away to regroup with Ball and Pris.

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

- AEUG 4th Squadron Vicinity -
- Dervish Team 3 -

The hammer-and-sickle-marked target hadn’t been hit by Wes’s opening shots, but Team 3’s leader pressed forward unfazed. At least one of this trio of murderers had to die before they could get away.

But none would. Sometimes even the most experienced soldiers slip up in some small way, and that was what happened to Wes when he juked the wrong way. Stukov’s absentminded return fire lanced through the top of the Rick Dias’s head, plunged through the torso, and burst out the back between the rear binders.

- New Yark Team –

“These Hizacks don’t want to go home like their friends?” mused Thibaut aloud, “Their choice, I guess.”

New Yark Team’s XO continued to track Marco’s Hizack with the beam rifle as the Titan tried to rush a Rick Dias. Just as his crosshairs were about to come together, though, Thibaut’s threat indicator screamed wildly. He slammed his machine into an evasive dip just as Leandro’s screamed through the area like a speeding train, cooking away the paint on much of the Nemo’s left side. Thibaut had fired at the same time, but the wild evasive meant that the bolt had been launched into empty space nowhere near the Herakles Team Hizacks. He never noticed that dodging the beam launcher shot also spared him from Alex’s machine gun burst.

-

Hard AE had also been forced into a dodge, but had parlayed the twisting, gyrating motion to contort his mobile suit and bring the beam rifle around and fire another double-tap at Marco. The cockpit display started whining about the low remaining energy in the weapon.

-

Due to the damaged state of his Nemo Cannon, Mart slid well behind Hard AE, Thibaut, and the Team 3 Rick Diases. The enemy Hizacks grew ever smaller on his monitor.

-New yark team vicinity-

wales snarled as the Hizack narrowly avoided his attack and returned fire, in spite of that, the ensign pressed on, ignoring the beam fire being wildy sprayed in every which direction except the one he was in. as he slashed again a garbled message came across the radio

“Two***krrrzzttz**ds free**Fzzzttrzzz***help?”

the brief second he took to try and make sense of the message brought him back to the present, inadvertantly saving his life as he became aware of more beam fire racing past him from the opposite direction and that someone was rushing him from behind

"wait your turn!" he bellowed hoarsly as he threw the Rick Dias into a forward somersault, ending up 'underneath' criss's Hizack, briefly he hoped that the two titans would hit each other with their beam rifles if only to save him the trouble. nevertheless, from his position he fired off another clay round from the bazooka, aiming right for the cockpit hatch

(firing at criss)

-Team 3-

"should've retreated when you had the chance.." trask muttered to himself as the charging Marasai was anihilated, then again maybe he considered being killed by the enemy preferable to dying by 'firendly fire'. he added mentally as he remembered the titans that were shooting at the marasai as well, before focusing on the two mobile suits in question as they spilt up, opened fire on him and then fell back.

As he juked to the side to avoid the beam fire, trask fired the phalanx guns at the incoming missiles, one was destroyed by the hail of bullets while the second struck the left leg, tearing off the armour plating entirely, the third sailed off into space.

Trask regained his bearings and looked in wes' direction just in time to see a yellow beam punch through the head and out through the back of the Rick Dias B-type, for a while he just stared at the husk of the Dias-B type in shock, before looking back at the few fragments that remained of the Marasai then where his other team members were. hope those two are still in one piece. he thought before opening a comm to the Dervish

"Dervish, Enemy forces are withdrawing...Ltjg Curren's KIA"

-Hamburg team-

in a moment of panic, paris lurched the Nemo to one side when pris shot at her, however rather than veer away from the first shot as pris intended, paris inadvertantly leaned into it, the passing beam melting one of the torso vents into one solid lump and grazing the skirt armour before taking off the foot on the nemo's remaining leg.

regaining control after the shock of the impact knocked her around in the cockpit, the young pilot backed off when Kou shot at pris, not wanting to be caught in the middle, and looked back to see how the fight was going, Al's unit had lost its' head but otherwise it was still functioning, kite's Nemo Cannon seemed to be ok but wasn't doing anything, the unknown arrival was just holding its own against two Gaza-C's, most of the enemy ships had been destroyed and the Rick Dias'es from the Dervish were hounding the other enemy suits that tried to rush them.

seeing Al move to assist Uraki with supporting fire, Paris reoriented her Nemo to point in the unkown Nemo's direction and rushed in to assist, when she closed the distance she opened fire with the head vulcans at the nearest Gaza-C

"hey you!" she yelled at the Axis pilots on an open channel "go home while you still can!"

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

Djorn was thrown against his flight harness when the Nemo headbutted him. It left a large dent in his Gaza's head, though it narrowly missed damaging the main camera.

"Hey!" he exclaimed, surprised and annoyed by the attack. He stabilized his mobile suit as it was pushed back and he was preparing to leap back at the Nemo with both sabers when the message pierced the Minovsky interference.

He was annoyed by the insinuation that he thought he was better than the other pilot or that he was up on a pedestal. He as better because he was Zeon, but it was just the other pilot's poor misfortune that he was born on Earth or in one of the other colonies.

But what was really important was the end.

"If you want me to surrender, then so be it. But if you bastards want to keep fighting the wrong enemy, then I will not hesitate to cut you down!"

"Hmmm...a reasonable enemy pilot," Djorn muttered to himself before opening up the radio channel. "Very well. I accept your surrender. Please eject and I will escort you back to my ship."

Before the AEUG pilot could comply, however, a hail of phalanx fire pinged off of Djorn's Gaza C. More than one of the shell's opened up a hole in his armor but did not have the momentum to do any damage inside.

"Ha! Trickery! I should have known!" he declared. He shifted his suit to Mobile Armor mode even as he shot backwards. That brought the knuckle buster to bear on Derrick and he let loose a blast.

But then he reoriented, aiming at the incoming Paris and blasted away, sending a volley of shots back at her as he threw his suit into a wild serpentine pattern.

(Firing once at Derrick and three times at Paris.)
Yep...That's Texas in a nutshell. Why just say "f**k you" when you can put it on a flag?

“Where did that come from?” Irene asked spontaneously in open channel as Leandro’s beams raining down into New Yark team. The question remained unanswered as her machine identified Wales' machine along with Marco and Cris very close to each other. Hurriedly she sped up and flew into the Wales' direction.

Coincidentally she darted right into another Nemo. It was tagged as Hard AE's on the screen. “Hard AE, better to collect our guys fast and lead them out of here.”

Chasing Marco from behind she made the slightest adjustment but still the reticle won't get a solid lock for a while before finally she got lucky when Wales veered off her screen. "Gotcha!," tap tap, and two bolts launched in a second interval to Marco. She didn't care for a solid lock as those should get his attention.

Opening the channel to Wales she said, "I got your back, buddy but don't get cocky!". Wales' flight path still remain clear from her firing line so her Rick Dias fired another two bolts launched as soon as she finished with aiming adjustment.

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

Derrick sighed, glad at having encountered yet another Axis pilot with a good head on his shoulders, and powered down his saber, but before he could eject, he was alerted to the presence of another MS, this time, a Nemo, who began firing at the Gaza-C.

Derrick cursed as he narrowly avoided the Knucklebuster's beam, the close proximity of the blast near his suit's head temporarily fuzzing out parts of the cockpit's screen. He was glad for the assist, but on the other hand, the chances that either Gaza pilot would listen to him were pretty much out the proverbial window.

He moved closer to the Nemo that had come to his aide, which, despite having a foot blown off among other things, was in relatively better condition than his.

"Thanks for the assist. Ensign Derrick Sanders of the Guangdong MS team, at your service."

He mimed a salute with his Nemo's inactive saber still in hand, and hurriedly reignited it as he struggled to keep an eye on the now transformed Gaza-C, firing a volley of vulcan fire as soon as it came within range.

"If you're wondering about the rest of my team, we got separated when a group of Hizacks ambushed us en route to the front lines. For all I know, I could be all that's left. But that's war, I guess."

With that, he broke away and began chasing after the Gaza pilot., saber held forward.

((Firing at Djorn, and now chasing him down.))

In mobile suit mode, the Gaza-C's knucklebuster began preparing a coup de grace aim upon Paris' Nemo, yet was interrupted by the timely appearance of a third Nemo, piloted by Kou. The streak of unexpected beam fire before her mobile suit's vision nearly caused Pris to swallow her tongue, and almost loosen her bowels.

The shot you never see coming, a grim reminder spoke in her mind. She clutched at the controls while trying to calm down, drifting her mobile suit attempted to curl into a fetal position and sped backwards as the Nemo piloted by Al was raining support fire upon her Gaza-C that was thankfully inaccurate on account of the Nemo's missing head due to Ball.

“Team, that’s the recall signal. Fall back,” came the garbled command her head head pieced together, having yet to notice the signal flares.

"No argument here!" She exclaimed, trying to keep away from Al and Kou while trying to find where Paris went if she could. This scrap heap barely a match for one Nemo. No vay in hell am I taking two, let alone three of them.

"Rendezvousing with your position," throwing her Gaza-C into a diving juke that turned into a transformation into mobile armor mode. She growled at her machine as it transformed, "don't you dare break down on me," and took one last wary glimpse against the two Nemos before throttling and rolling away to join Ball and Renard, swaying her mobile armor in hopes of throwing off any chasing fire.

Kite vs. Renard, Djorn, and Nikolai

Kite took his time tracking Djorn, Renard and the out of control Nikolai. He smirked deciding to take a few shots
Along its trajectory. "Put one down hopefully," he muttered as he struggled to get the shield up. The Nemo slowly moved to the right as two beams slammed against its shield, the third flinging it away. "...dammit..."

The Nemo dove back, the vents in the chest helping it lean back to face Renard's Gaza-C. Luckily Kite didn't have to worry about the other one because another Nemo came on the scene to take some of the slack. Definately one of Kite's lucky moments.

The Nemo reached behind its back with its free left hand and gripped a beam saber. He decided to wait for his enemy to close in before activating it. Instead Kite leveled the Nemo's beam carbine and fired a flurry of four beams toward Renard's Gaza-C that was 'diving' toward him.

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

Djorn's combat computer alerted him to the enemy on his tail. It was not the best piece of technology in the Earth Sphere but even it could not miss such obvious pursuit. It flashed a warning and pulled up a mini screen to display the threat.

Of course, Djorn expected as much and checked only to see that there was only one enemy pursuing him. When it appeared that the odds would be even, he threw his suite into a 180 degree spin while killing his thrusters. Since there was almost no drag out here, he continued moving a the same speed, but backwards.

He fired another pair of shots with the knucklebuster but that was just a feint. "You shouldn't have followed me, pawn," he said as he transformed back to mobile suite mode and slammed on the brakes by pushing his thrusters back to full. His linnear seat strained with the effort to keep his organs from spilling out his back at the abrupt change in motion and for a moment the edges of his vision went red.

He drew both beam sabers as the distance between the two suits shrank rapidly and used one to parry Derrick's saber while thrusting the other one forward.

((Firing at Derrick and trying to stab him.))

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

Derrick cursed as he avoided the knucklebuster shots, and as the distance between them shrank, he held the saber forward, in an attempt to skewer the head of the Gaza-C. Unfortunately, the attack was easily parried, and time seemed to slow down for him as he saw the oncoming saber blade. Firing the thruster in his shoulder, he managed to avoid getting vaporized, but a chunk of his torso was gouged out for his troubles.

"Cripes... This thing's at its limit, I gotta end this, and fast..."

Ignoring the alarms that blared in the background, he brought his right knee upward in an attempt to knock one of the sabers from the mobile suit's hands, following it up by swinging his saber downward, hoping to cleave an arm off, in an attempt to swing the odds in his favor.

((Attempting to disarm Djorn. I almost cleaved off an arm last time, so hopefully I can hit the mark this time...))

- Gamma Team –

The deck crew waved around their arms directing Aaron's Barzam to its bay.

"Got out of there in a hurry huh?" one of the men assigned to make repairs commented.

"Had no choice, the Lt. ordered us to return immediately when the flairs went up." And he as only happy to oblige. But a cold sweet began to course from his pores. What was Nick going to do now if he made it back.

- Bindra Team -

"Thanks for the assist Renard and Djorn!" Of course the moment he got those words out of his mouth all hell opened up around them as beam fire came from several directions.

"Don't sit still guys. Split up and flank this loser. We'll get him from three angles."

“Keep moving or you die.”

"Easier said then done!" As fire began to come from Eddie and sent his Gaza-C's left arm flying in a different direction then it. Kite then opened up on them and Nikolai was close to losing it mentally, but he managed to keep it together and try and support Renard.

Aiming as best as he could while dodging the beams flying through the area. He fired two blasts from the Knuckle buster as the recall flares continued to burn.
(Two shots at Kite)

- Team 2 -

“Hit ‘em again, Sophie!” Eddie cheered her on over the radio.

As the Kwire exploded from the other hits it took, Sophie immediately began to search for the next target. Eddie and Cowboy moved off to engage the nearby Axis mobile Suits, but they were close enough to help out of somebody came after her.

"Ah ha!" she spotted an Endra class (Mandra) that looked to be moving off. Better to give it some parting shots then to let it get away unharmed. The cannon belched forth again as two shots flew towards the enemy ship.

(Two cannon shots at the Mandra)

- Buxoro Team -

Jules fired on Tim as he followed Tyler.

“Buxoro Team, let’s get the hell out of here!” Elijah ordered as he and Vlad came to bail them out from Gaza madness.

"Couldn't agree with you more Elijah!" However a Gaza began to rush his CO and he wasn't about to let some Axis punk get the best of the Buxoro team. It burned a lot of propellant, but he changed course to intercept Brutus, letting several shots from the beam rifle fly towards him.

(shooting at Brutus)

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

- Iota Team -

OOC: Calling a small hit on Jules :P

IC:
Grace’s shots at Jules struck at least once, hitting the knuckle buster. Unconsciously regarding that Gaza-C as no longer an immediate threat, Grace swung her rifle left to track Rusty and Fields. With Titans forces in the immediate area in full withdrawal, Grace reoriented her Marasai to pull back to the Kirov, but not without firing several times at Rusty and Fields collectively, not targeting either one specifically.

((beam rifle shots at Rusty and his remaining wingman.))

- Buxoro Team -

That Gaza-C was crazier than Elijah thought, responding to his attack by rushing him directly. Elijah noticed out of the corner of his eye that Tim was moving in to intercept, but he nonetheless instinctively pulled a beam saber into his left hand. All the while, the attacking Zeon pilot’s voice howled in his cockpit.

Is that you best? No wonder you couldn’t save the dead of Sydney and America! SIEG ZEON!

Off the top of his head, Elijah couldn’t recall whether Axis Zeon’s Gaza-C could outrun a Marasai, but he nevertheless added some juice to his thrusters, picking up the pace toward TF Echo and away from the Axis and AEUG formations. He sprayed another three-shot burst at the pursuing Gaza, this time somewhat haphazardly. The cockpit display groaned about the critically low charge remaining in the beam rifle.

-

“Guess Zekes really don’t know when to give up.”

Tyler saw the Gaza making its mad charge at Elijah. Tim was already moving to cut the bastard off, blocking Tyler’s shot. Tyler decided instead to discourage the other pink machines from following Brutus’s example by firing a double-tap at another target.

-

Vlad, flying in a loose parallel course with his team leader, fired one more shot at Jules before cycling targets to the Gaza menacing Elijah and firing.

((Elijah fires thrice at Brutus while retreating, Vlad fires once at Jules and once at Brutus while retreating, Tyler fires twice at Rusty))

- Orinoco Team -

Gutierrez grinned wide at the sight of that wounded Gaza-C crashing into a crippled Endra cruiser. A fitting end for their kind.

Orinoco Team moved past the depleted Gaza-C teams and even their own Marasai allies. They continued in the general direction of Titans vessels.

* * *

- Titans Taskforce Echo Vicinity -
- Alexandria-class Kirov -
- Combat Bridge -

Trent furrowed his brow as frontline reports came in. Seeing Nick’s tiger-striped machine coast in for a landing brought something to his mind. “Have Beta Team land on the Luzon instead of the Kirov. Delta, Iota needs more cover.”

- Mobile Suit Deck –

Dolk’s music was already screaming throughout the deck even before he’d opened his cockpit hatch, but Stukov had long since grown unperturbed by it. The Cossack pushed down from his Griffin as the crew cooled it off to prepare working on it.

Renard jerked the controls to bring his Gaza-C into a savage zigzag maneuver he’d perfected to deal with Federal pickets during the war. It saved his life again as Kite’s beam shots scored no hits. Renard shot back with his knuckle buster, but continued his course toward Ball’s Gaza, which grew near.

Ball mentally checked off that Pris and Renard had regrouped with him, but the three younger pilots were still entangled with the enemy. AEUG Rick Dias teams were uncomfortably close by…

“Matt! Djorn! Nikolai! We’re pulling out of here now!”

Bindra Team’s leader started moving back to their mothership in earnest, firing his knuckle buster and top-mounted twin beam guns at an attacking Nemo to keep it away.

Re: Episode 28 - Passage to Tartarus

Jules let out a loud curse as his knuckle buster's barrel suddenly disintegrated, quickly forcing his Gaza upwards even as its frame started to groan. A stray beam shot melted armor off of his right leg, throwing off his balance and making the Gaza-C tumble madly through space for a few terrifying seconds.

"Damn it!" Jules yelled, struggling to regain control, worried that the mobile suit was about to collapse around him. "Forget what I said about this thing being a good suit!".

Thankfully, the groaning mostly ceased as the Gaza-C corrected itself, and Jules took a few seconds to survey the battle, making sure that no beam shots were heading his way.

Were the Titans retreating, or drawing the remaining Gazas into a trap? Jules couldn't tell. All he could really see was Brutus in his suicide charge. Where the hell was Aster?

More important, was the Mandra still alive? Jules had no way to know, his communications filled with nothing but static. He sighed, thinking about how enraged Brutus would get after the battle, but strangely glad that his commander probably wouldn't live more much longer anyway.

"This is Jules Parenthal to any Zeon forces who can hear me!" he said, hoping that at least one voice would hear him. "Retreat flares from the Mandra were fired not too long ago, and I fear that that means our ships are under assault. I am going back to assist in any way I can. You can join me if you wish, or you can continue this pointless dance; your choice!"

With that, Jules changed his Gaza into mobile armor mode, and fired his thrusters as hot as he could in the Mandra's last known direction, hoping that no enemies were following him. "I just pray that I'm not too late."

in spite of his injuries, wales allowed a small grin to crack along his face as the clay round connected with the hizack's torso, instinctively he ejected the spent magazine and inserted a fresh one, explosive rounds this time, before swinging the bazooka back to bear on the enemy suit with the intent to finish it off.

ultimately he decided against it at the last second, one part of him considered it a waste of ammo while the other thought back to how petty and vindictive that a**hole jacob was, and how he'd be just as petty for pulling the trigger over a few shards of broken glass.

feeling the last few bits of anger drain out him, he backed off and took up position with irene, keeping the bazooka trained on the hizacks as a precaution.

"I got your back, buddy but don't get cocky!" he heard her say to him over the comm, the minovsky interference being minimal due to their close proximity

bit late for that. he throught to himself before replying. "thanks *cough* i got yours too, but it looks like some of this lot have gotten the hint and are falling back" he then turned his attention to the three remianing hizacks that have yet to leave, trying to ignore the sense of exhaustion slowly creeping in.

"you're getting off lightly today" Wales called out to the remaining titans on an open channel "now be smart and p*** off, before i change my mind!"

-team 3-

cursing to himself with the lack of response, Trask did the only thing he could do, and consolidated his position, grabbing the husk of the Rick dias B-type by the arm and dragging it with him towards Irene's and Wales' location, drawing closer he noted that the new yark team had lost a man and its nemo cannon was heavily damaged and falling back. could've been a lot worse though, looks like your decision to spilt the team worked Wes....sort of.

pulling up next to the nemo cannon, he placed the free hand of his suit on one of the damaged machines' armour pannels. "at ease" he began "can you make it back to the New Yark under your own power or do you require assistance?"

-Hamburg team-

Paris' eyes went wide at the volley of fire directed at her, and she juked in a wild pattern, narrowly avoiding the incomming beam blasts, so narrowly that the heat from the rounds left a wonky criss-cross patten of black lines all over the suit, making it resemble the type of paint design one would usually see on a rockstars' guitar body

after thanking all the major deities that she knew of for letting her live, paris backed off slightly before moving to cover the guy who had introduced himself as Derrick Sanders before foolishly rushing off to attack the enemy she had shot at in order to give Derrick a window of retreat

"back off will you, I didn't come to assist so you could rush at them again and get yourself killed, look! they've already launched their recall flares." she yelled at Derrick while slashing at Djorns Gaza from 'above' and firing off another volley of vulcan rounds "head back towards the Hamburg, with the Rick Dias'es helping out we've got this in the bag"

A Rick Dias from Dervish’s Team 3 approached and pressed a hand against Mart’s Nemo Cannon. Adam Trask’s voice patched through "At ease… Can you make it back to the New Yark under your own power or do you require assistance?"

“I’m good, boss,” Mart tapped his fingers to his helmet in an informal salute, “Rest of my team’s incoming. Looks like you got your hands full anyway.” It was only after saying that that Mart noted the ruined head of the Rick Dias Trask was towing. The Rick Dias model placed the cockpit in the head, right where that damaged unit had nothing but wreckage.

His neck craned back, momentarily lost in thought, Capt. Abbey stared in remote silence as the large digital operational timer steadily ticked away. The glowing red numbers continued their march upward while the captain relaxed a bit in his chair, a lone bead of sweat lazily rolling down the tip of his nose the only perceptible sensation from the outside world. Early on in the engagement Team 1 had taken the initiative and gone out to meet that group of dangerous, high performance mobile suits Dr. Merkwürdigliebe would only discuss in vague terms, and after a brief firefight the increased Minovsky density and the confusion of the rest of the battle had made it next to impossible to track their Rick Diases. There had been no radio contact with them since then. None of the observers had caught a glimpse of them. The numbers had hit an hour less than two minutes ago.

Abbey's vision finally broke from the clock and the rest of his senses seemed to return to him full bore all at once. A rumble from the deck rattled its way up his command chair as a blinding flash of energy screamed past the ship, and the strained voices of the bridge crew coordinating their actions filled his helmet. "--captain. Captain Abbey?" a voice from a separate source prodded, calling his attention back to where it had been stolen from by the timer in the first place - the overhead monitor. Callman, one of the operators from the Radish, along with Capt. Mandena and a pair of other representatives from the closest ships looked to him for a response. Abbey grunted wordlessly, staring back at Callman whose eyes were hidden by a double layer of normal suit visor and sunglasses. "My apologies," Abbey said, sitting up in his seat a bit, "About the withdrawal? ..."

"Uh, yes, sir," Callman nodded, "Capt. Henken wants us to begin rolling in the edges of our outermost defense units to get the Titans positioned where we want them,". Capt. Mandena, her blonde hair pulled back and up into a severe bun, added, "And that means you, Carl. I'll get the Irish unit moving once your squadron has begun to fall back,". "We'll watch your ass while you catch a breather and get reassigned," chimed in Capt. Waite from one of the other ships. "I appreciate that," Abbey chuckled quietly, "I was just thinking it's about time for us to take five,". "I'll leave it to you, then," Callman said, his face twisted and obscured by a heavy burst of interference.

After a brief conference with the other captains still on the line, Abbey closed communications and waved for Jane's attention. "Tell André and Christopher to ready and fire a withdrawal spread ASAP. We need some time for our pilots to extricate themselves from this mess in any case," he ordered. She nodded and turned back to her console to relay the command, and Abbey gently pushed himself out of his seat to float to Filmore's side. He laid a hand on his shoulder to speak directly to him and said, "Fire fallback flares. We'll be temporarily pulling back soon,". Filmore gave a quick thumbs-up, and within ten seconds a bright line of signal flares was rising above the Dervish.

Jane started in her seat and instinctively pressed a hand to the side of her helmet to better hear the message coming in. Her eyes widened a bit and she swiveled in her seat to call out, "Captain! --"

- The Hamburg -

"Flares up," Lt. Stalvern parroted, relaying word from the bridge crewman to Capt. Loweno. The captain folded his arms like a child on the verge of pouting and grumbled, "We coulda done better for ourselves... How long are we supposed to be off the line?". His XO shook his head and answered, "I'm not sure, sir. Miss Alman didn't say,". Loweno looked back out at the battle going on closer to the center of the AEUG fleet and brightened up a bit. "So phase one is over for us. Time to help walk that Titans fleet into the crosshairs,".

- Team 1 -

"No, I can control it, but you're going to want to deploy the crash nets. Are the medics there yet or not?!" Fritz rasped, sounding as though he hadn't had a thing to drink in hours and hours. He briefly shot a glance to the other side of the HUD, where a veritable wall of blinking orange and red showed him that his Rick Dias had not yet learned to repair itself in the time since he last checked its status. "Should we approach yet or not?" Michiko asked, and he turned his head to look behind his MS only to spit out a curse at a broken panel. He reached over and keyed up a view of Michiko and Celeste's suits that were trailing close behind him. Michi's suit was hugging and propelling Angelina's along like a friend leading a staggering drunk. At this distance, at first glance, Michiko's MS looked as though it was in pretty decent shape after leaving a battle. Celeste's, somewhat similarly, appeared as though it had seen better days but was largely intact save a missing left forearm. One would have to get up close to see that the shoulder joint was stuck and the upper limb and stump were was hiding a large, dangerous gash up the suit's torso.

He hadn't inspected Jacob's suit closely since they had broken away from the Griffins but he thought the kid had done okay during the fighting, all things considered. As for his own MS... The right arm was frozen in place in an awkward position in front of the suit's chest, cocked and pointed outward, fingers spread like the grim pose of a condemned man trying to shield himself from a blow. It had been fixed there by a lethal blast of electricity from that sea serpent weapon the Griffin pilots were so fond of - the gossamer thin wire he had cut from the weapon was still wound around the useless limb. The armor on the arm and the right side of his suit's chest was slightly deformed after sagging from the heat of the brief surge that had run through the suit. The right leg was also damaged, as something vital in the skirt or knee joint had been destroyed and it was slow to respond to the already shaky controls. Both random binders were missing - one destroyed during the fight and the other damaged and ejected during the disentanglement. Multiple systems had failed or were on the verge of failing, and nearly a third of his monitor panels were broken or showing only static. His bazooka and both beam pistols had been lost or destroyed and a lone, unlit beam saber was clutched in the suit's left hand.

And yet, it wasn't himself he was worried about. The speaker in Fritz' helmet clicked and buzzed as Jane came back on to answer his question, "Fritz, the hangar crew said the doctor and an extra medical team just arrived. You're clear to land - Sager says they'll have the nets up by the time you get there... You were all out of contact for so long, we were getting worried. Are you guys okay?". Fritz swallowed, his mouth dry enough that he struggled to get down the stale saliva that coated the inside of his mouth. "No."

Hamburg Tea
-Kite vs Bindra Team

Kite clenched his jaw and slammed his controls, wanting an instant response, but the stress from the furball was starting to show and the machine was lagging. As a result being caught in a cross fire took the Nemo's right arm and its beam carbine, and its right foot just above the ankle joints.

"Dammit," he muttered while moving out of the line of fire and shutting down functions for both limbs. No need to leak hydrolic fluids after all, besides no one liked point blank explosions. Seeing the situation as a whole Kite decided to call it quits, there was no way he could pursue in the shape his Nemo was in, and he himself was getting a little fatigue.

The Nemo fired its retro's effectively back peddling and turning into a full out retreat. "I'm disengaging." And as if on cue the Hamburg sent up flares.
