Display cases for models and figures.

I have quite a number of models and figures, but it's a shame I can't display them because they get dusty too quickly on shelves and require constant cleaning. So now, all of my beautiful models stay in their boxes, unable to be appreicated.

I was wondering what people use to display their models and whether their method keeps the models in good condition.

I've done some shopping around, and normal furniture stores (and even hobby shops) don't have anything that's:

-good size
-protects the models
-displays the models nicely

I was recommended to go directly to shop fitting specialists to buy display cases, and some of them in fact look really good (come with their own lights too). But they are quite expensive.

Anyone care to share how they display their models or recommend any products?

Try Ikea if you can. They have some nice shelving thats pretty appropriate for collecting/displaying purposes. I don't have any myself.. yet.

I just looked at Ikea's online catalog, and DETOLF and BIBY are the styles that will probably be best. I have a unit that must be discontinued -- it's about 4 1/2 feet tall, 18" square, with a slanted hinged top and a front door for easy access, that I'm very happy with.

I do not have one personally but a friend has one and they are fairly nice but they are not completely sealed (some dust still gets in) and can be a bit wobbly if anything too heavy is on top. Happy hunting!

my friend brought 3 of those IKEA Detolf. he use it to display figma, but i think a MG or two will fit in nicely. i also plan to buy one eventually.

This may sound a little crazy, but sometimes improvisation is good. If you go to the container store they have transparent display cases for things like footballs and basket balls. I have a football case in my room with my 4 Gundam FIx Figuration Figures and it works pretty well until they are moved. As long as the case itself isn't moved too much all the kits should be fine, although the basket ball case might be better since more kits can go inside it.

Can anyone suggest me how to make a DIY lock for it? Does IKEA sell it? At least my collection is safe from prying hands
