Harrington snarled. The pursuing Nemos were only a pair, but they were bold to the point of suicidal. One of them was quick to dash ahead. Oddly enough, this one was visibly damaged. Was he trying to get himself killed?

Then again, that damaged Nemo only further surprised Harrington by pulling an insane stunt, streaming vulcan fire and... throwing his beam rifle? What was wrong with this guy?

But it worked. Randy successfully kept Gallagher at bay and flipped around the poor bastard. The Nemo's beam saber's tip sliced across the Hizack's backpack and ruined a number of internal workings, but Gallagher's panicked, twisting attempted to evade the slash ensured the weapon hadn't bitten deep enough to reduce the entire machine to a fireball.

Nonetheless, Gallagher howled and twisted his suit at the torso to fire his machine gun, one-handed, in a wild spray at the saber-wielder behind him.

Through this, Harrington never lost track of the other Nemo, which now opened fire from another position, the sneaky bastard. "Incoming!" he snapped, banking his Hizack to the right and, in the same motion, initiating an AMBAC spin to face Al's Nemo.

Bednarz, who'd also been targeted, had had target fixation when Al fired. The beam lanced across the left of his torso, severing the external cable there and mangling the armor over which it passed.

"Bednarz, take care of the crazy one," said Harrington, "Maeda, we're bringing down this other guy!"

Since his momentum was still hurtling him toward Gallagher and Randy, Harrington worked his verniers to redirect said momentum into an arc back at Al. Maeda, still tracking Al, shouldered his machine gun and hammered off a three-shot burst.

Bednarz, trying hard not to worry about the torso damage he'd taken, centered his sights on Randy's Nemo and fired off six 120mm rounds in rapid succession, in spite of Randy's proximity to Gallagher.

- Buxoro Team -

Picard feathered his verniers to tiptoe left, but realized within a fraction of a moment that he'd miscalculated. Without missing a beat, Buxoro Team's narcissistic commander brought up his shield, deflecting the first shot with its anti-beam coating. Of course, the passing beam ate away the coating over which it passed, such that the second beam, rather than being deflected at an oblique angle, tore across the length of the armament and ruined the mount. Most of the shield spun off into the void, with a frayed section of it remaining on the ruined forearm mount.

Cursing the powers that be for sticking him in a Hizack rather than a mobile suit with more teeth like the Marasai, M-Hover continued his aggressive maneuver toward Mello, who was apparently more than happy to mirror the sentiment. What Picard's AEUG counterpart contended with that M-Hover didn't was a capable wingman putting on some added pressure.

"It's over, little boy," Picard narrowed his eyes while centering his sights on New Yark Team's lead Nemo. Just as Mello entered what would arguably be called close range, Picard fired.

-

"Yeah, gotcha," breathed Warren. If he remembered correctly, Aaron was just as much a rookie as he but, somehow, knowing they would work together to bring down a common target inspired some confidence.

Thibaut's Nemo remained on the defensives and evasives. Warren didn't make any real notice that it wasn't firing back; he only figured he had a chance to knock down one of the rebels.

"Cokhhhte Dzztosstttzzzt going in!"

It was Aaron's voice again, accompanied by said man's Hizack moving forward at the targeted Nemo. Warren was taken off-guard by the impromptu maneuver, and thus was clumsy in bringing his weapon to bear. He was startled by the suddenness of the move enough that he popped off a two-round burst into empty space before he'd tracked the enemy well enough. Nevertheless, Warren, sloppy and artless as he was in doing so, brought his sights unto Thibaut and rattled off a five-round burst.

- Herakles Team -

Cara's yelp caught in her throat as the not-insane Nemo advanced toward her and let off a three-shot burst. She twisted her Hizack about as she brought her good arm around. The shots scorched by the torso and left blackened streaks in their wake.

Still traveling in that high arc, Cara swept her weapon's muzzle at Sophie's Nemo and squeezed off a pair of bursts.

Seeing his shots miss, Jason starts fuming as he tries to avoid the Dias' return fire. In mid roll the second shot hits the inside right foot of the Marasai. Giving Jason a difficult time stabilizing his suit and keeping him from firing back. A third shot goes past way off target from the escaping Dias. But a second Dias trailing the first was still in range. Angered by Miller's passive stance and the Kirov's silent guns, Jason lets everyone know.

"Grrr. Come on! Open up on that thing!" Jason yells into his comm.

Boosting down to get a quick shot under the Kirov, he spots the second Dias (Marvin) following the first. Bringing up his rifle Jason fires 4 shots at the fleeing Dias' back.

The pink Dias was quick and brutal, but Ryo wouldn't let it faze him. Rolling around the beam while still firing the vulcans, Ryo drew and lit a beam saber into his left hand. A heartbeat later, he was in melee range.

The vulcans went silent as Ryo initiated a slash with his beam saber. Diagonal, upward and to the right.

-

Wolf couldn't help but grin as his crossfire with Delta Team chewed up the blue Rick Dias. If this really was Fritz Ashlyn, then he was fighting more sloppily than before.

Now the blue Dias barreled at Wolf and spat beam pistol shots at him. Wolf dodged the shot in a manner that was essentially opposite to what Fritz had done to evade the last beam launcher attack. He lit the apogee motors to move into a higher angle and let the beams pass "below" him.

The blue Dias thundered past at a reckless velocity. Wolf gave Delta Team a hand signal that could quickly be interpreted as "Thanks; I've got it from here", then took chase after the traitor.

They were heading back the way they'd come. Good: Wolf had intended to return soon, considering he'd left his subordinates to fight at a numerical disadvantage.

Don't let the traitor sidetrack you so easily.

Speaking of leaving his team mates, Wolf saw a Nemo take shots at Sven a short distance away. Sven himself was tangled up with a Rick Dias already.

"No," Wolf commanded the upstart mobile suit. He shouldered the beam launcher and sent some particle thunder Julian's way.

- Delta Team -

With the blue Dias falling away, and with Ritter's Marasai not only pursuing it, but clearly preferring not to have any assistance, Delta Team needed some new targets. Shin once again took the head of the Delta Team blade without a word. Gilliarme directed his Barzam toward the Chuikov Team Nemos and his subordinates understood immediately what they would do.

Shin pressed forward to Jonas, the closest immediate target, and snapped off two beam rifle shots. Gilliarme and Sam fanned out to either side.

-

Sam fired at the Nemo further away - the one attacking Sven from Beta Team. Shin, after all, was handling the closer Nemo scraggly light purple hair over that broad face with the easy grin it was the universe Gilliarme also fired. Both then moved forward to converge on Julian's Nemo.

Had Elijah not ascended above the skirmish his own leader would have been in his direct line of fire. Fortunately that was not the case as the Robin's Hizack was already well above the two units which were now entering close combat range. M-Hover, as they say, bringing a gun to a knifefight, was the first to fire in such close proximity.

Whilst Picard continued to keep Mello occupied Elijah continued to 'climb' higher into vast reaches of space only slowing down to a more manageable speed once the three units outlined a right triangle, leaving the Lieutenant uncontested and directly above the New Yark's lead Nemo. What was once an eerie grin was now a rather broad-toothed smile as the Longbowmen sought to incorporate a few lessons he learned back in Cambodia.

Having slowed to conserve propellant and steady his aim Elijah held the rifle at the ready as he fired two calculated rounds. The first beam was angled only slightly behind Mello's Nemo with the second aimed just to its left, though if for some reason the Nemo remained in the same relative area it could still very well strike its arm. The offcentered shots were fired in such a manner to compensate for any sort of agile maneuver the pilot may attempt as well lessen the threat of his own rounds striking Buxoro's squadron leader, an incident that would possibly result in the Nemo shifting its attention to the unscathed Lieutenant. And up until then Elijah quite enjoyed the attention or lack thereof.

"Aw sheat.."

Al floored his thruster pedals, the pair creaking even though the zero G environment. A rush of adrenalin shot through his body as he jerked at the controls to bring the suit into a spiraling ascent above Harrington's arc. As he drew his own weapon, Maeda let off a spray that would have lanced into the spot where Al had once been, and most likely into the face of Harrington as he attempted to intercept Al's Nemo.

Al flared his suit's thrusters to stall his ascent, using his advantage of the high ground do perch above the two suits and rain down a spray of beam rifle fire, most of it concentrated on Haringon to keep him at bay. As Maeda would undoubtedly continue to track the AEUG pilot, Al dove down toward the side of Maeda's unit opposing Harrington's cover. He then kicked his thrusters and pulled INTO Maeda, his shield coming to bear as he initiated a ram on the suit.

As he pulled into Maeda's position, he punched in a command to bring up a saber in his right hand, his shield held close to his left side as he continued to shoulder rush Maeda's suit, Harrington now on the other side (Placing Maeda as the monkey in the middle of sorts) of Al which would place any covering fire dangerously close to Maeda as Al prepared to make contact.

(Edit: clarification of ramming position. Harrington > Maeda < Al)

Sven closed with the Dias, putting the final touches to the plan he threw his Marasai into the prone position, and tapping the thrusters ever so lightly so it looked to the Dias that his suit was vertical rather than horizontal to the enemy pilot. Tucking his left arm and beam rifle across his chest, he let a smile creep across his face; the poor pilot wouldn’t know what hit them.

His plan was set, and it was almost near fruition when destiny thundered at Sven in the form of a bazooka round. It was a clear decision destiny left him with. Face uncertain death if he kept his charge up, or put his plans to the flame and live. Sven’s body and reactions chose for him. He fired all his chest thrusters throwing his Marasai, and himself to the “left” allowing the bazooka round to pass his former path. His momentum was too great to stop though, igniting his beam sword with his right hand he prepared to make a slash attack against the enemy Dias.

Sven was a practiced soldier, whose reflexives had been honed in some of the harshest battles of the One Year War. While he had fought in some of the most destructive battles, his lack of recent combat experience caught up with him. Since the start of combat he had allowed himself to become too engrossed with this one Dias ignoring the other threats, and most importantly ignoring the flashes in the corner of his eyes.

The only warning he had seconds after he dodged the bazooka round was the lock-on alarm blaring. All he had time to do was unconsciously cringe. The first beam passed in front of him, the second where he had been. The third beam would have left a burn mark if it wasn’t for his left arm. Instead his Marasai took the third shot in the left forearm cutting clean halfway through the arm and separating his left hand and more importantly his Beam Rifle from his control. The shock sent the Marasai farther to the left

Sven half blinded from the shot so close to his cameras, decided his duty was not to die here. Using his now nearly empty fuel resources, he used his thrusters to swing his legs back down. He couldn’t stop himself now, and while he might have not been in the best condition to fight he had a duty to his team.

He swung his beam Saber directly at the Dias’s chest.

With the help of his sensors, Bernard quickly finds his squad engaged with a Hi-zack team.

four against two, huh. well lets even this up

Seeing that Emington's Nemo has taken some damage, Bernard decides to assist him first. Besides, Al seems amazingly capable of holding his own.

Approaching at a high angle, Bernard can clearly see the battle and all mobile suits. Emington's Nemo is close to a Hi-zack (Gallagher) while a second Hi-zack (Bednarz?) is firing in their direction. Both Hi-zacks seem to be damaged and their movements are rash as if they could be rookies.

Before coming into their sensor range, Bernard positions himself and hits his thrusters to come down on top of the third Hi-zack (Bednarz). Opening fire, he sends 4 shots to rain down on the occupied Hi-zack (Bednarz)

- Outside Side 2 -

- Sumitani & Sophie -

Ramon’s song and dance number quieted for the briefest of moments while he intently watched the results of his beam’s glancing hit on Roberts’ Hizack. The enemy team leader put his suit into a ramming posture and maintained its course; with a burst of speed, the Titan pilot yelled back, “I choose your death, freak!”. So he did intend to try a charging attack… Hard AE sprang into action, shifting his feet across his Nemo’s pedals and quickly adjusting the hand controls. By the time Kyle’s Hizack had closed in, Ramon’s Nemo had leaned into a back-bending limbo position.

With the help of controlled vernier bursts, Sumitani kept his Nemo in the back bend for a few key moments without immediately spinning over backwards into a roll. The move he thought he was dodging turned considerably more deadly, however, when he saw Kyle’s shield begin to glow and warp. A duo of beam rifle blasts fired straight through his own shield at nearly point blank range - for the first time in a while, Hard AE fell completely silent in surprise as the two shots streamed frighteningly close above his suit’s torso and head. His own move continued, and as the verniers stopped compensating for the strange change of direction his Nemo went into a sustained backflip as it passed Roberts. His beam rifle clanged against some part of the enemy MS and was knocked from the Nemo’s grip.

All of this happened in under three seconds, leaving Ramon gritting his teeth and struggling to force his suit out of the roll. He had avoided Kyle’s clever attack thanks to a little blind luck, but now found himself without a ranged weapon. Now he’d have to stay in close quarters until he figured out his next move. After finally snapping his Nemo back into a normal position, he spun around and sped up to stay close to Roberts’ Hizack while he drew and ignited his beam saber. This time he’d let Kyle make the first move.

While Ramon was dealing with Kyle Roberts, Sophie found herself suddenly getting a lot more attention from the Titans than before. Ens. Coggs put her shield up in the direction of the annoying support fire coming from Alex Lepak’s machine as she continued to close in on Cara. She adjusted her angle of attack in an attempt to avoid Lepak’s fire, but still felt a handful of the rounds impact against her shield. Cara’s panicky return fire missed almost entirely on its own. Instead of continuing on the same path, Sophie turned to her left and ‘down’ slightly, which would let her pass between Alex and Cara with them at a relatively even distance from her. Aiming across her Nemo’s chest, she fired two shots at Lepak’s Hizack. She hoped it would take a few more moments for that one’s wingmate to regain their composure, and that she might be able to keep them both reeling.

- Mello & Thibaut -

The increasing pressure on Lt. Mello forced him to reluctantly focus on his own problems and hope Thibaut was following close enough behind him that he’d be able to eventually give the kid some proper help. But that would have to wait until he wasn’t constantly dealing with a pair of Hizacks. His eyes darted between his primary target, Kamek, and that pest of a wingman, Robin, who continued to take potshots at the worst possible times. The Jovian saw Elijah’s rapid ascent and made sure to keep his spatial relation in his thoughts at all times while he dealt with Picard.

When he closed in on Kamek, the Hizack fired back, causing Mello to panic and curse at his poor luck as a warning arrow simultaneously popped up on his HUD alerting him that Elijah was still overhead and was still intent on being a deadly distraction. Mello roughly turned his Nemo onto its right side to keep his damaged shield between his suit’s body and Robin, and Picard’s shot flew past harmlessly. One of Elijah’s shots, however, slammed into his Nemo’s left leg, blowing it off mid-shin. “Son of a-!” Mello hissed as he struggled to keep his suit under control while still rocketing in Picard’s direction.

Thibaut, barely managing to contain his urge to panic further, stayed as close as he dared to Mello while trying to defend himself from the sustained assault provided by Faraday and DeRossi. Speaking of Faraday, he took initiative first and charged in at Thibaut, firing off another burst from his 120. A sloppy follow-up burst from DeRossi was close behind, and the combined streams of fire drove Thibaut closer to Lt. Mello’s machine. Several of Ens. Chareux’s cameras blew out, putting a few scattered fields of static in his panoramic view. “Lieutenant!” Thibaut yelled again, finally squeezing off two shots at DeRossi.

- Team 3 -

Clute frowned at the situation around the Chuikov when he and his team finally got close enough to take action. The engagement around the friendly ship looked like it had turned into one big furball, and the presence of several Marasais worried him further. “Break formation and try to do some good. Stay frosty,” Clute ordered before he peeled away from the other three Rick Diases. He raised his bazooka as he scanned for a target and hesitated in confusion when he spotted one of the new Barzams. “I don’t care what you are. Back off!” he yelled as he fired an explosive round from above down at Samantha.

- The New Yark -
- Bridge -

Capt. Guanche leaned forward in his seat to make sure he would be heard over the noise on his ship‘s bridge and ordered, “Take us closer to the Chuikov. Capt. Dombrowski is unable to intensify his defensive fire because of the close proximity of friendly mobile suits. We’re going to provide him with some cover,”. Dale grunted an affirmative as he manipulated the helm controls, and orders were relayed throughout the ship. After a few moments, the New Yark’s fire shifted from the Buxoro to the Herakles to relieve the Chuikov somewhat.

- The Dervish -
- Bridge -

“It’s no good, sir…” Wade grumbled. Capt. Abbey looked at the time and muttered, “Damn it, we’ve failed… There’s no way we can make it to the rendezvous on time now,”. He pounded a fist on his seat’s armrest in anger as his mind raced to figure out their next move. The Dervish, and the rest of the 4th behind it, were mid-maneuver beneath the Titans fleet, and the Chuikov was fully entangled with a good chunk of the enemy’s mobile suits. The 4th could no longer complete its primary mission, which meant Abbey was to revert his Advance Squadron to its secondary mission: seek and destroy.

“Wade, when the fleet completes its turn, accelerate and begin a port turn back in the direction of Luna. I’ll give you specifics when we begin the new move,” Abbey ordered, quickly falling back into his proper role. He cleared his throat and spoke up so that all of his orders would be heard and relayed. “Step up our counter-barrages to full power. Once we’ve turned around we’re going to begin a tactical withdrawal, and I want to cause as much damage as we possibly can on our way out. By God, Wong and his colleagues are going to get their money’s worth out of this sortie,”.

- Hangar -

Dr. M barely noticed the activity going on around him, as he had started taking notes during the battle once he got a good view of the AEUG’s mobile suits on a screen in one of the hangar control rooms. The only sounds that came from him while he scribbled page after page were occasional “Hm”s and “I see”s. All he needed now was one of the ship’s Rick Diases to come in, either because of damage sustained or the need to refuel, and then he would get a real look at some hard data. While battle observation from such a close distance interested him greatly, what his superiors really wanted to get their hands on was provable combat data.

The 4th Advance Squadron certainly seemed to get themselves into (and back out of) trouble on a regular basis, and both Merkwürdigliebe and those in charge of his particular team expected them to deal with this latest engagement like clockwork. And if they performed as well as expected…

- The Hamburg -
- Bridge -

Capt. Loweno would have gone down to the hangar to personally oversee the damage control teams if it weren’t for the protests of the bridge crew. “Sir, it’s bad down there, but they can handle it. We need you up here,” Lt. Stalvern pleaded from where he stood blocking the bridge exit. Loweno relented and sat down in his chair in a huff. “If it gets any worse down there, or if those fires spread, I’m going to go deal with it. You know me well enough to run things up here for a few minutes on your own,” he grunted, pointing at his XO, “Hell, John can probably pull off a good imitation of me by now. It’ll be like I never left,”.

“Sir, sick bay…” the comm tech on duty said, his face going pale as he listened to the doctor, “Captain… Ensign Kai is dead,”.

- Michiko -

Michiko thought she had a brief opening for an attack when she saw her bazooka round had surprised the enemy enough to make him bank hard left and switch weapons. She was preparing to follow up when a transmission caused her hands to stop moving completely.

"Ashlyn*zzzZZ** trouble. **kkkkzzzhhhh** help him. I’ll **bzzzk**”

“W-what?” she asked urgently, hoping the friendly voice would hear her and repeat the message. But she knew what she had heard, and it was enough. She began to frantically search her monitors for Fritz’ Rick Dias, causing her to completely miss Julian’s attack on Sven. More importantly, it caused her to be completely oblivious to Sven’s vicious melee attack until it was too late for her to react with anything more than a scream.

“Michiko, get back!” MacAlpin snarled, his beam saber locked against Sven’s mere meters away from her unguarded midsection. Blinding yellow energy filled Michiko’s vision as she slowly realized how close to dying she had been. All Michiko could manage to squeak was “…I-” before she began to cry. The sobs weren’t the intense, overpowering sort that had turned her into an emotional wreck when she had found out about her home colony’s fate; these were silent tears that rolled down her cheeks and blurred her vision. She had been suddenly confronted with her own mortality and it was profoundly frightening.

“James… Thank you,” Michiko said quietly as she spun around and put as much distance between Sven and herself as she could as rapidly as she could. Somewhere in the middle of this madness Fritz needed help.

- MacAlpin -

With a grunt, Jim twisted his suit into a better position to hold back Sven’s saber in a more natural dueling position. “Thought you had it easy, huh? Now you have to deal with me!” he challenged Haksson after conjuring up some of his natural bravado. To tell the truth it was all adrenaline, and if he didn’t have the benefit of that his hands would be shaking.

- Fritz -

Fritz could only imagine a smile on that bastard Ritter’s face at the condition he was in after his failed run through Delta Team. He was fighting like a fool, putting himself in danger and using up ammunition and propellant like they were going out of style. “What are you doing? Calm down and fight smart,” he mentally berated himself. Wolf had let him get past, dodging his attack in the process. Fritz’ flinched, his hands ready to make quick changes to the controls when he saw Ritter raise and fire his beam launcher again. But no, this time it wasn’t intended for him. “No, we’re not done here yet,” Fritz said aloud as he turned his Dias on its back and fired ‘down’ at Wolf to make sure he was still paying attention.

Dervish
MS Hangar

Rem floated back into the hangar, tension gripping his spine. It had wormed its way up his back and had spread into his shoulders and neck, nearly to the point of hurting. Was this what the combat pilots felt? This nervousness, this dread, this...pressure...on their skull? He had only been out for a few minutes at a time, relatively far from the actual fighting, but he was still sweating from the encounters. He'd be glad for a shower when this was over, but for now he was just glad the suits were hermetic. He had found a new respect for the MS jocks today, something he wouldn't forget anytime soon.

Deciding he should get back to the doctor, he gave a wave to Sagar Polk who was still directing the mechanics at the top of his lungs. Floating up to Dr. Merkwürdigliebe, he greeted him. "Hi doctor, how is the battle progressing? I've been helping repair a gun port and an engine mount, so I haven't had a chance to look at a monitor." Glancing at the nearly empty MS bay, he continued, "Looks like nobody's had to come back in yet, how are the suits performing?"

Jacob catches only snippets of Clute's command due to the M-Particles that are saturating the area. Really, all he understood was "do some good," so he figures he's on his own as far as picking targets.

He scans the area rapidly while none of the current combatants are paying him any attention. Seeing the battle like this wasn't unlike watching a movie, though he only had to think about it for a moment to remember that real lives were being wagered and lost out here rather than fancy special effects and fake blood.

It doesn't take him long to spot one of the Titans shooting at one of his allies' backs. Turnabout is fair play and all, so, only slightly altering his forward momentum to aim towards the Titan, he brings up his bazooka.

So, only a moment after Elijah fires on Mello's Nemo, Jacob's Rick Dias fire two rounds at Elijah's Hizack.
Yep...That's Texas in a nutshell. Why just say "f**k you" when you can put it on a flag?

-Curren-

Wes grunted curses when Ian was shot at by the Marasai. He spun around to launch a few rockets at the custom machine, all which had missed its target as it made a wide arc. The Titan was using a roundabout attack method, probably to draw attention away from the flagship. Clever...

"Goddammit..." Curren muttered as he jetted towards the Marasai once it changed direction. It was headed straight for them, which would make things a lot easier for Wes. It was simpler to fight direct opposition.

He closed in on the Marasai, and in turn closed the distance between him and Ian. He launched off another trio of rockets and two beam bursts at Stukov, leading each shot so he wouldn't miss as horribly as before.

Somewhere near the Kirov

After Miller had launched and had a small exchange of words with Jason, Patrick's mind had blacked out. When he awoke, he had that bad taste you get in your mouth when you sleep, and no knowledge of what was going on. In a desperate attempt to regain contact with his team, he punched into the commline to his teammates.

The blade didn't bite deep enough and Randy wasn’t pleased about it. He readied his saber for another attack but changed his mind as he saw his target spinning around on its torso and firing sporadically. With ease Randy kept his position closely behind the panicked Hizack. He got away from the fire although from that close position he couldn’t land the final blow as he feared the explosion coming too near to his unit. He must deal with this now before it’s getting more dangerous.

Just as he throttled backward to gain some distance he needed, his console started to panicked. A series of warning signs coming to the screen. Streaks of bullets coming from Bednarz’s unit passed through them, not that close but enough to draw attention. Clearly the new guy didn’t care much about friendly fire his own team mate.

Ultimately Randy felt sorry for this guy but there’s nothing he could do. He still got his own fleet and team to worry about, and Alfred is out there facing two against one. He needs to be quick about this.

In a single motion his Nemo kicks the Hizack away and slash horizontally with its beam saber aimed at the back of Gallagher’s Hizack. Randy just hoped that if it explodes it would create enough distraction for the incoming Hizack (Bednarz).

(( The position between the two units is really close, the kicking is not a real kick but just to push away from the opponent and gain enough distance for the arm to swing the saber freely. ))

(60 Hours~ Time to knock an NPC out.)

"Gotcha!"

Al made contact with Maeda's Hi-Zack as it peppered his shield with machine gun rounds, the shield barely maintaining it's integrity as it bent and gouged itself into the torso of Maeda's suit. The Nemo's free hand came in with and upward thrust, which connected into the suit's torso and out the back.

Dumping his newly fallen prey, he launched over it to find Harrington still in once piece, less some nice burn marks and sear scars from Al's beam barrage. He decided to take his chances once more and with his warped shield continued on toward Harrington, an upward stabbing slash in the works as he closed in on the Ipswitch team leader.

((Maeda run through with a saber after the 48 hour rule, Al moving on to Harrington and making an upward stab/slash at the suit while what remains of his shield covers his shoulder, the shield resembling a cresent/boomerang shape from a profile view.

Yes, it's a V8.
Yes, it was a Trans Am before there was "TRANS AM."

As Eckardy returns fire, Grace banks right and arcs her suit away from where she and the beams would have met had she not done so.

Marvin’s fire, delayed by his pulling up short to avoid collision with his wingman and to track who Eckardy was firing at, is led down the proper flight path. Grace is unable to dodge in time, and she knows it, so instead of a futile effort to dodge, Grace sets herself to weather the fire the best she can. The young pilot raises her shield to cover the most vital areas of her suit and fires her vulcans for a good 2 and a half seconds, sending a stream of 60mm projectiles out on a computer predicted course to intercept the dumb-fired missile heading her way, which is destroyed with a satisfying silent blossom of flame in the perpetual night panorama. The first splashes against the top part of her shield, burning away the protective anti-beam coating and causing the metal underneath to turn white hot as it is brought to the verge of boiling. The second shot misses the shield, but clips the right shoulder shield on its way past. The third and final shot impacts the shield further down, burning off another portion of the anti-beam coating, but without the spectacular effects on the armor because of a more oblique angle from her turn.

After the storm, Grace turns around, having been force further from her objective than she intended. With her so far behind the line, with the enemy between her and the ship, she’ll have to be more careful. At least the enemy will have to choose a target: her or the ship.

(Pendragon and Celeste to come later, since they aren‘t exactly time critical)

If Love is the answer, could you please rephrase the question?

Pan's radio crackled with some chatter from his teammates he couldn't understand what they were saying because of the m-particles but the fact that a Marasai hailing his Dias with vulcan rounds impeded his listening skills.

Suddenly the vulcan rounds ceased. Pan smirked and suddenly fired his maneuvering thrusters at full force sending his Rick Dias upwards and over his prey, just in time too for a beam saber just nicked one of the dias' feet warping and scorching the Gundarium, but at the same time Pan used the height advantage to unload a brutal kick aimed straight at the Marasai's head.

Oh, that pink bastard was quick, pulling that flip-and-kick number and smashing the back of Ryo's head. The impact sent the Marasai tumbling forward, but Ryo wouldn't let himself be shaken; once his spin hit the 180th degree, he was again facing Pan's Dias. Ryo slammed the forward verniers to stop the spin and, in spite of the forces on his body, fired his beam rifle.

At this point, Ryo remembered - and kicked himself for this - that he was getting tunnel vision against this pink Dias and leaving Sven to fight two at once. Besides, his attempts to get in close to the guy had proven fruitless; it was better to hang back so as to engage all three hostiles alongside Sven.

So, after having fired again, Ryo directed himself to boost away from Pink Lemonade and closer to Sven.

Firing at that Nemo clearly got the bastard Ashlyn's attention; the traitor immediately opened fire while still retreating. Wolf banked left and let the shot graze his right shoulder shield, then pressed forward to close with his target.

Where the hell is the Commodore?

Pushing away thoughts of whatever might have happened to the man who was, in practice, Taskforce Echo's patron, Trent could see that the rebel ships were accelerating. Fyodor's report of such came in only a moment after Trent's instinctive hunch thereof.

Amidst reports that the AEUG mobile suits in the Kirov's immediate vicinity had scored hits with their own weapons, Trent gave out his commands.

The Kirov, Kalinin, and Ipswich would end their dives and accelerate directly at the bulk of the AEUG formation. The Buxoro and Herakles would break off and approach the flanks, with the Herakles coming up on the 4th's right flank and the Buxoro on the left.

"They're gutsy, but we'll see just how gutsy they are."

Leandro let out a short bark of a laugh as he scored a hit, even if he'd only sliced a foot. The red suit fired back, using up ammo from all his weapons with abandon.

Alpha Team's support gunner tapped the Kirov's hull to flutter away. There wasn't much he could do about these AEUG shots hitting the ship, but the folly did remind him to get some distance from the ship, if only because the enemy units were getting so close.

Leandro moved to situate himself "above" the Kirov. By that point, he couldn't get a clear shot at Eddie's Dias without goring his own ship, but he could probably still get a shot off at Cowboy. Leandro acted quickly on the opportunity and let his beam launcher speak to the rebel wingman.

Stukov banked upward and to the left, allowing the beams to pass by, and in the same motion twisted his torso to put his shoulder shield at front. The first bazooka shell hit low on the lower panel, the force of which caused Stukov's Marasai to spin out, but Stukov had planned for this and worked with the spin to wind away from the other two shells.

The Mad Russian advanced toward Wes once again, this time readying a beam saber in his left hand without lighting it. He fired twice, aiming somewhat low.

- Gamma Team -

Stukov had a knack for attracting attention, even when the only other Titan machine in the immediate vicinity was painted in an eye-catching tiger-stripe pattern.

That was fine with Nick in this instance; with the two Dias' fixated on Stukov's aggressive maneuvering, Nick could move in and blindside them. Beam saber in right hand, Nick moved in on the Rick Dias that was focusing specifically on Stukov. Gamma Team's leader moved in on a path to Wes' left and slightly "above".

Nick brought the saber close to his body and prepared to stab it through the offending unit. When he was only a couple dozen meters away, Nick ignited the melee weapon and lunged forward with his innate finesse; the thrusters kicked to high gear.

Pan Heyden

A series of small damage indicators had sprung into life as Pan's Rick Dias' cried and moaned about some kind of damage sustained to it's feet. The titan's pilot had started to flee. Most likely he was terrified of Heyden and the wide shot that accompanied the unit's retreat was more then enough to snap Pan back into reality.

Bearing his teeth like a feral beast Pan changed directions and quickly pursued his enemy. Following his enemy's movements with his sensor he lead into the shot and fired thrice.

Bednarz actually wasn't distracted by Gallagher's exploding Hizack. This was due to tunnel vision rather than skill. Still zeroed in on Randy, Bednarz continued firing; a long six-shot burst once again.

Harrington grunted as the Nemo stabbed Maeda and rendered the other Titan lifeless. His team clearly hadn't had the mettle to take on opponents who weren't inept. At this point, Harrington was best off cutting his losses and finding friendlies rather than keep his men in a hot zone they couldn't handle.

Banking around to take a course back to the Echo warship formation, Harrington fired off all six hip missiles at the approaching Nemo and added in a couple beam rifle shots for good measure to make the offending rebel stay back as Harrington zipped away.

- Buxoro Team -

"Watch it, New Guy," breathed Picard, "Soften him up all you want, but I get this kill."

With Mello now glaringly close, M-Hover switched hands, putting the beam rifle into his left, and reached back with his right hand to draw his heat hawk. The torso-twisting motion put his spiked shoulder in front, which he parlayed into a shoulder charge as his melee weapon remained at the ready for a follow-up attack.

-

"Bwuh?"

Warren's stomach lurched as he realized the target Nemo shot back. He jumped into a sloppy, last-second evasive maneuver, which allowed one of Thibaut's beams to rip into the Hizack's left hand. The machine gun's forward grip was lost, along with the entirety of Warren's left forearm. This, along with the awkward dodge move, sent Warren into a violent spin, which took a good deal of manhandling the verniers to escape.
