I recently listened to episode 1. I really enjoyed it. I'm currently downloading episode 2.

I have some topic suggestions:

*spotlight on a Gundam OVA series (War In the Pocket, Stardust Memory, etc.) - go into detail!

*non-Gundam mecha series: Megazone 23 OVAs - including the plot, mecha designs, music, influence (hello, Matrix), the various English dubs, and the Robotech connection (I can even get you some pre-ADV dubs and background music to play)

*mecha video games, such as the Gundam Battle Assault series, etc.

Keep up the good work!

I agree with the mecha video games idea, there have been some good ones (gundam-wise) over here in the states (Rise from the Ashes) and some terrible ones, like the old DOS one with a fat guy portraying Char. Of course you also have SRW, all the Macross games that never came out here, you could go into Armored Core if you wanted.

We're definitely going to be covering video games. We'll also continue to spotlight non-Gundam mecha series. I definitely plan on discussing Megazone 23 in the future, although the first vintage series I want to highlight is VOTOMS.

I'm not sure if you guys know about this or not, but, since you both said you like "Robotech", I figured I'd share this with you. It's a Robotech podcast, and they actually interview a lot of people associated with the franchise. There's days' (at least) worth of information to absorb here:

Did somebody say VOTOMS? :D

Might be time to bust out my VOTOMS avatars again. 8)

Definitely one of my favorite series of all time.

Hi guys, I started listening to your podcast and I like it so far. Although I'm not to keen on the background music. Sometimes it's hard to hear you guys. If you guys have a promo, I can put it in my podcast. I am part of an anime and cinema podcast over at Destroy All Podcasts DX.

Working on a promo to place during our other podcast, "Flip the Script" when we revive that one in the coming weeks. I'm going to revise FTS's as well to make it shorter and once I do. I'll send you a direct link to place in the your shows for a combined promo for "Gundamn!" & "Flip the Script!"

In the meantime, e-mail me a link to your's and I'll grab it!

I have to disagree with you guys' opinion of the Escaflowne movie. I proudly own the special edition DVD set, and I've even written a prequel fanfic. I love Hitomi's characterization in the movie.

I can't really explain it well myself, but I'm in agreement with this essay:

Just wondering, but what's that Dave Chapelle thing that plays in each episode?

Great show by the way. Have you considered doing one on anime endings, Gundam or mecha in general?

It's not something that's on our extensive list of topics yet. What do you mean exactly about "anime endings"? Do you mean ranking the endings of franchises like Gundam, or discussing Japanese anime endings in general and a tendency to feel inconclusive/rushed?

The ladder sounds better, but the ranking never hurts.

I'd like to hear a topic on the show (and see a section on MAHQ) about Bubblegum Crisis - the original OVAs, the TV series, Crash, the various AD Police spin-offs, Parasite Dolls, the music, etc.

I can send you music to use for background, too.

I can quote posts from six days ago if I want to. I'm quoting this one because I'm in the exact same situation. I've got friends who are into anime, but they're all Bleach fans or Naurtards or the like. Only one in the bunch likes anything vaguely mecha related, and he just likes super robot shows.

I always find it embarrassing when I find out that I've been mispronouncing some name or concept I've only ever read, never actually heard spoken. I even have trouble like that with some stuff I've actually seen... it can sometimes be hard to discern the proper pronunciation of a word when you only hear it shouted in the midst of a long string of Japanese.

It's always nice to hear stuff actually... you know... spoken about for a change.

There's always the English dubs.

Except for ADV's Macross dub. I don't know how they screwed up the pronunciation of the freakin' title.
