This came out of left field for me when I got my issue of Game Informer today. Looks awesome compared to the other games in the franchise.

Gist of the story is that it takes place in 2409, and involves a breakdown in relations between the Klingon Empire and the Federation. Klingons have taken in some other races aside from the Klingons, and the Bajor and Ferengi have joined the Feds.

Gameplay looks pretty good for the early stages of development, and it's slated to be both a PC and console game. It's MMO, so that's gonna be awesome, but they haven't decided whether to charge for online play so it's now 'kind of want.' If I read correctly, you can create your own race, create your own character (model faces and expressions), and 'create' your own class of starship. Screens showed both space based and ground based combat so it looks to have a good spread of playability.

The site lists PVP, PVE, and RP capabilities, so thats gonna be fun too.
