Zeta Gundam MG kits

I have the original version 1.0 I guess Zeta Gundam MG kit and I must say it is awful. It can barely stand. The hips are the worst, for trying to do any kind of pose. The backpack/waverider thing is also loose. Can anyone tell me if the other Zeta MG kits (grey Zeta Gundam MG and the redish/orange one) are any better. I think they are the A1 and C1. I have seen the MAHQ reviews but would like more opinions. How about the new 2.0 Zeta Gundam? Any opinions or experience with this kit would be appreciated. I'm actually afraid of investing in any more of the Zetas because of the 1.0 MG. Thanks.

I've made some comments regarding the MG Zeta v1.0 and v2.0 in this post. for the other Zeta variants, dalong.net is your friend.

2.0's are miles better than the originals. I havn't gotten the zeta 2.0 yet, but I've built 3 2.0's, and if they're anything to go by, the zeta 2.0 will more than satisfy you.

I did a review of the Zeta Plus. It's Ok but the screws were annoying.

Re: Zeta Gundam MG kits

The two Zeta Plus kits are a good middle-ground. They're sturdier than the 1.0 and less expensive and complicated than the 2.0. I also know from 2nd hand info that the Plus models have better sideways articulation for the feet than the 2.0, though that's probably moot if you don't plan on putting the 2.0 in fancy standing poses.

Re: Zeta Gundam MG kits

The 2.0 zeta comes with a display base anyways, so standing poses or lack thereof shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Re: Zeta Gundam MG kits

The 2.0 is a much better kit than the original but the same problem of balance exsists, as mentioned above the kit comes wth a giant base which you can attach but I replaced it with a standard action base.

Overall I really liked the kit but I do wish I could get it in some better poses. But that is the trade off for most transforming gundam kits. If it can transform it ussually does not have the greatest articualtion.

Re: Zeta Gundam MG kits

I agree that the original MG Zeta is ridiculous and I only bought it since it was part of the "coating" line. My 1.0 is currently a pile of plastic in a box sine it kept falling apart. I picked up the MG 2.0 Green Divers version and really think it is one of the better MG kits. The Z Plus kits are also fairly nice for the MG line and I believe far better than the overpriced non-metal Gundam Fix version which costs almost double.

Re: Zeta Gundam MG kits

Personally I think the Zeta Pluses are the best due to the simplicity and the tightness to their joints. The original Zeta has so much going on its always going to have too many moving pieces to keep in place.
