Upcoming Models, Merch & Rumors VIII

Here's the new thread.

I'm glad I didn't go for the MSIA Exia. Its weapons looked to suffer from the usual MSIA accessory "gigantism" and I was figuring it was a likely candidate for EMSIA treatment too. This is just as good.

Although I suppose it coming with parts to simulate the makeshift repair Exia from the first ep of season 2 is probably not likely.
The MSiA!! Exia, while not horrible, did have two major problems with it, which, in my opinion, impeded with the overall success of the figure:

1. Its GN Sword I wasn't constructed all that well, being both difficult to keep connected to the Exia's forearm and kept joined together in general.
2. As a consequence, the MSiA!! Exia's limbs had a poor range of movement because the GN Sword I's length interfered with most poses, especially of its arms, and also the arm couldn't hold the GN Sword I in a fixed position either.

But otherwise, it wasn't that bad...But certainly it could use some better engineering. I'm definitely excited to see an improved version, however. :)

yea, that there Arbalest and upcoming Macross units are forcing me to admit RD is the best new line Bandai's come out with in years.

Cant wait for their take on UC and the rest of the universes.

Its becoming like a middle ground between GFF-type figures and MSiA

Well, some of them are.

I only have three (four if you count the 0-Raiser), and I'm not as impressed as the now-diminished size of my checking account says I should be. Maybe I just got the crappy ones, I dunno.

But I am still so completely and totally going to buy those Crossbones, just because I friggin' hate the GFF Crossbones.

Yep, it looks like the RD line is shaping up to very interesting for non-Gundam stuff.

Larger pic of <Side AS> Arbalest and.. <Side AS> Savage!

I'm quite fond of the quirky 'Frog' from FMP!, so this looks pretty interesting.
Now if they'd continue doing more FMP! Side AS stuff -like the Eligor- I'd be really pleased.

I have the 00 Gundam, 0-Raiser, Cherudim, and Arios. I like the 00 well enough, but the Cherudim and Arios were kind of a let-down, especially the Arios. Articulation and accessories aren't what I expected from a line that is apparently supposed to succeed (which would imply, "be better than") the MSiA!! line.

Hmm...has the X-2 Kai's rifle, but it doesn't seem to have the added thrusters. Or at least I don't see them.
Sweet-looking though.

That would be because both versions of X-2 used the Buster Launcher.

I know I'll be getting the Arbaleast for SURE. it'll save me the trouble of having to build and paint the Mode Lock kit. Lancelot Albion will be another I'll be getting.

The 0 Gundam's close up shots don't look half bad...but I think I'll wait for the HG kit. Ditto for the Susano.

Gah, I can already hear my wallet crying in paint. 2009's gonna be a good year...

The action figure and HG world is rocking, yet...

The 1/100 hype this year has gone a bit... stale. And I'm sadface about that. Guess that's a good thing. Things like the Hi-Nu, Sinanju etc... are still on my to-buy lists. I wouldn't mind getting a pre-built figure, like that 1/100 Hummingbird GFF, if the price wasn't too HHNNNNGGGG--

The Crossbone X-2 is the Crossbone X-2 Kai, it's clearly labeled as such in the pictures.

Those are for the show only (for now) 00 Region figures...my 00R Exia is 1/144...so i assume theyre the same.

They look way better than any Throne merchandise iv seen and look like they follow the designer's spruced up lineart to the dot. We might get them as 00Rs.
