So is there any info story/character wise on the AMAIM "Photo Novel" side story Frost Flower? Aside from the mech profiles it seems the story revolves around a conflict between resistance and the only faction that has yet to make an appearance in the main story. Also what exactly is a "Photo Novel" and how does it differ from a manga?

It's a novel released in chapters, followed by accompanying photos to help tell the story. Mainly text based.

Manga tells the story entirely by panel pictures with light text to represent dialogue or thoughts. Mainly visual based.
