Mobile Suits Scaling

Thoughts on future Gundam series where the mobile suits were scaled down further to the size of other smaller mecha akin to other Non-Gundam series such as Code Geass Knightmare Frames, VOTOMS' Armored Troopers, Titanfall's Titans, or even power armor scale such as the Iron Man Suits or Starship Troopers Mobile Infantry armor?

Re: Mobile Suits Scaling

We already have SD Gundam.

Speaking of which, after went back to old Brave Series, I can't help but noticed that the setup of SD Gundam Force is very similar. Maybe they can try that concept again, just being less SD Gundam and more of J-Decker.

Re: Mobile Suits Scaling

Also F91 and Victory are shown to have scaled down the size of the mecha slightly. The v Gundam from CCA is 23 meters tall, while both the F91 and Victory stand at 15 meters tall. Granted this is still over ten feet taller than the Knightmare Frames and Scopedogs. Oddly this is the only time in the franchise any mechs are this small. Is it ever explained in universe or out why this is the case?

Difficult.

The idea of powered armour sized MS appeared in the Gundam franchise, to my knowledge, thrice.
The first time being before MSG, the proposed concept was powered armour sized MS. The sponsor wanted giant robots, and Tomino used the smallest Super Robot size at the time, Mazinger's 18m to get the approval for the proposal.
Another time is another Tomino's proposal, I don't recall if it was for the 30th or 35th anniversary of Gundam, but there was some news about it with like 3 pages of interview and concept art in Newtype magazine.
The last one(but before the above proposal) is a manga by Umanosuke Iida(Yes, the second director of 08th MS team) Ixtab of Space, which is a prequel to 08th MS team featuring Operation British and Shiro Amada appearance as a side character. The powered armour being in testing phase in the colony being dropped and was used to stop(and failed) the operation but causing the colony to break during reentry.

We can all see the result of the scaling down of MS since the 90s for F91 until Gundam X.
It ended up being changed back to 18-20m-ish in Turn A and definitely back to 18m class in SEED.
While for unknown reasons, we know that there's at least some kind of conspiracy theory about selling smaller gunpla at the same price to fool buyers.(Completely untrue as Bandai actually thrown in new technology at the time like 3-4 colour injection molding which increased cost, so at most they balanced the cost by selling smaller models, but not doing it to fool buyers. Also, some conspiracy theotist insisted the smaller scale made the 1/100 the same size as 1/144 larger models, which is showing the failure in math because 15m MS at 1/100 scale is 15cm, while 18m MS at 1/144 scale is 12.5cm, a difference of 20%, of 1/5.) However, Bandai seems to be content with larger MS as shown in the overwhelming numbers of these for the MG and HG models that are in the 18m+ class.

In-universe it is explained as them having new technology in the generator and making it possible to have smaller MS performing as good as their larger counterparts, likely also because the period is relatively peaceful and they are cutting cost in all aspects as well as SNRI overtaking AE as the main concept MS designer.(AE is still the largest manufacturer and the truth is they are still getting all the contracts for mass-production MS)
