It sounds like Evangelion, it looks like Evangelion, the question is will the final product be like Evangelion? We'll have to wait and see but I loved Evangelion so any homage here should be interesting:

Of all the entries to that contest, that one was the only overtly dark one. Wonder if that's related to it winning...

I'll check it out but I'm not particularly excited about it. I wish one of the other pitches won instead.

I think the main female character looks like a blend of Rei Ayanami from Evangelion and Miharu from Gasaraki.

Lovely trailer although now I am having some reservations about seeing the final product after I went and compared it to Evangelion, an anime I am now disassociating myself with due to lack of interest.

I thought this was supposed to be a full TV series, but I guess it was actually just a one episode special.

It was okay for what it was. The designs did look better in animation and the story held together just fine for its limited run time.

I just saw it and while I felt ripped that it was only one episode, it did it's part in establishing a well crafted story and displaying stellar animation in the characters and environments. Another interesting personal opinion is that

I didn't feel like the special ruined what could've been a sweet romance when it determined that Yuzuru and Rin were siblings. I remember crying foul when the same situation happened in Gundam Reconguista with Bellri and Aida but I guess it pays to let these things go and enjoy the experience.
