By pure coincidence, I just listen to Barnes & Barnes' Fish Heads for over an hour before I watch this episode, so the scene with that fish is extra funny.

They said Alaya-Vijnana can be implant only on children, so I guess become cyborg is neccessary in case of adult.

So this is what Makanai mean when he said Kudelia is his Lady Luck. And he's pretty much force Tekkadan to help him, yeah, he's really an old fox.

Poor Biscuit...really, I don't think anyone can blame him if he really goes through with that decision.

Look like next episode will be another big battle, guess we have to thank Carta.

Ha I called it I ****ing called it. Ein is not dead yet and will be brought back as a cyber-newty- err I mean cyborg with the AV system. And whats this "true power" of the AV system that Mcgillis speaks of? Psychic powers perhaps? Anyway, Ein has become a decent character in the past few episodes so I'm glad he hasn't gotten the axe just yet.

Poor Tekkadan, even when getting some down time they can't seem to catch a break. It seems they have come all this way just to be used as pawns in Makanai's schemes and he pretty much has Tekkadan at gun point. And it remains to be seen if he will even help them if he gets elected.

Having delivered Kudelia to Makanai Tekkadan's job is complete and must decide on their next course of action. Given their current situation Orga doesn't have much choice but to accept Makanai's offer , though Biscuit is rright to point out that their survival rate is only going to decrease the more they get involved, and they could smuggle themseleves out even if it meant leaving their equipment behind. However, if Orga's gamble pays off Tekkadan will much stronger and successful in the long run. Overall its a good decision betweem the two as well as a nice call back to episode 6.

And of course there is the fate of Savarin and damn... that got dark. Certianly can't blame Biscuit for wanting out.

Next week, Tekkadan once again faces off against Lady Kabuki's forces, though I am curious as to how she has the authority to override the Oceanic Federation considering she commands a figurehead position that deals with orbital defense. I wonder if someone else higher up is secretly pulling the strings for her. It seems like Biscuit will be fighting on the battlefield for the first time...don't get killed Biscuit.

It could be that Kabuki's position has the authority on paper but the people who created the position never expected it to be used. Now she's using it and showing she isn't going to act as a ceremonial add-on to Gjallarhorn.

*SPOILERS BELOW*

I must be missing something re: this Oceania guy. He is exiled and out of power - why go through the trouble of getting Kudelia/Tekkadan all the way to earth simply to escort him to an election? This would have presumed that everything would go as well as it did re: the Dort colonies and Tekkadan's reputation. How would he have known that these would have happened?

Also, wouldn't there be an expectation that he could front the funds (or at least show some down payment)? Again, given he is powerless, how did that all go down? Maybe I need to go back to see how the original agreement w/Tekkadan went down...

Also, funny how everyone freaked out at the fish. I suppose if you had grown up eating ... whatever that is that Mika keeps eating, then a fish would seem pretty exotic.

Yeah that baffled me a bit too. Given what we know at the moment I can only think of three plausible scenarios.

1) Makanai was originally hoping that Kudelia's status would deter Gjallahorn from arresting her or making an attempt on her life. So as long as he is traveling with her no one will attempt to stop him (he's essentially using her as a human shield). Also I got the impression that even before Dort, Kudelia turned some headed on Earth so perhaps she has sympathizers within the Earth blocs. If this is the case then maybe Makania thinks allying himself with Kudelia he can gain some political support.

Now at this point its obvious Gjallahorn isn't above making attempts on her life, so now he's taking advantage of Tekkadan who just happen to be in the right place at the right time. This scenario assumes that Tekkadan's reputation and the Dort situation were just timely coincidences.

2) This is a slight variation of the first scenario. Makania is in league with Nobliss and knew about the what would happen at Dort and planned to use it as a way to boost Kudelia's popularity among the earth blocs. The more popular she is the more support Makania gets by being her ally. Now granted this means that Nobliss double crossed him by trying to have Kudelia assassinated back at Dort.

3) Makania was in power when he invited Kudelia and had planned to discuss Martian rights with her. However, he fell from power during her transit from Mars to Earth. Like in scenario one, he's just taking advantage of Tekkadan and did not foresee the Dort uprising nor Tekkadan's rise to fame.

Regardless of the scenario, I highly doubt Tekkadan/CGS was a part of Makanai's plan when he originally invited Kudelia. I just don't see how anyone could have predicted Tekkadan's rise to fame and power.

I think it's 3rd, mostly because of all talking about luck in previous episode.

Politics & flounder aside, I was disappointed that the only acknowledgement--and an indirect, implied one at that--of the difference between Earth & Martian gravity was the comment about refitting the Barbatos for terrestrial use. There are obvious ways that they could have acclimatized during the journey which a couple of lines of dialogue would have easily addressed.

Other than that, while Savarin's fate was unfortunate, it does serve as a catalyst for Biscuit to finally confront Orga about his leadership.

Also, the preview narration was hilarious.

I still find it funny that refitting the Barbatos for terrestrial combat means giving it high heels.

Reading certain kind of IBO doujinshi make me realize something (look like beating Atra make those nameless soldiers stand out in a way), the most likely reason those Gjallarhorn soldiers mistaken Atra as Kudelia is...they don't. Savarin was fooled all along and even if that's real Kudelia, the massacre would still proceed since it's their plan from start. Now, those soldiers are bastards and won't mind a chance to beating little girl for fun. If Mika doesn't come to rescue, it's likely that Atra won't get to their HQ, but rather "disappear" on the way.

Well, I think many of us aware of this possibility already...

And I thought that the letter issue was settle... We now have a Carta preview for a combat loaded episode. Cool. I suppose we won't be seeing gali gali for a while, not until ein is turned into his mechanical henchman -which means he will be transformed into a mindless drone.

As for Tekkadan, they are screw. Makanai has their balls in his hands. They really don't have a choice but to escort him and hope for the best.

I doubt we will get a proper ending for this series

So seeing that Ein will most likely return as Franken-Ein I guess he will be piloting the unnamed mobile suit(the dark blue one with two axes and will be sold on April as a High Grade)?

I'll wait for some official announcement over the internet before I start celebrating.

However, if it is true then it would explain the description for IBO in Daisuki's most recent newsletter.

"Don't miss the surge of excitement as we approach the climax of the first half!"

I liked Chris' latest reviews for IBO, with the exception that Karta was described as incompetent. I thought her quick orders to the fleet after being blinded was clever enough. *Shrugs* We'll see how well she does in the upcoming episodes.

And looks like there is in fact rumor surfacing about a second season. The show certainly appears to be progressing with that possibility in mind.

I think it's mixed. Carta lacking thoughful quality of McGillis and clearly underestimate Tekkadan (so she simply use the most basic strategy since she has overwhelming advantage in numbers, without ever consider that Tekkadan is also aware of that and won't clash with her head on). Now, her quick response is indeed push her above stereotype incompetent officers.

Any reason why Savarin has the surname "Canele [カヌーレ (Kanuru)]" as opposed to Griffon, like Biscuit, Cookie, and Cracker?
