Mazinkaiser SKL

Awesome. Kaiser was always my favourite Mazinger, and this SKL design looks like a fricken beast! I wonder if this means we won't be getting more Shin Mazinger soon, though =/

Re: Mazinkaiser SKL

Mazinkaiser was great, it takes a lot from the original Mazinger Z comic and is a very good and clever re-read of the Mazinger concept and storyline but my favourite Mazinger is still the Great Mazinger.
I haven't watched Shin Mazinger yet, though.

Mazinkaiser: Revoltech Vs. Maxfactory

Hello, everybody!
Mazinkaiser is my favorite Super Robot right after Grendizer.
I was wondering, does anyone own both the Revoltech and Maxfactory versions to tell which is best please?

Revoltech

Maxfactory

My own guessing is that Maxfactory is better with height and its display base, though, I think Revoltech is more poseable and looks closer to the OVA Mazinkaiser; but I really would like you to share your thoughts too! Thank you.

Re: Mazinkaiser SKL

That was an awesome trailer. By the looks of it those were MazinSaga versions of Garada K7 and Doublas M2. Plus Mazinkaiser with a Black Getter cloak = Holy Frack. It's a shame it moved so fast, otherwise I would have gotten an avatar.

Re: Mazinkaiser SKL

^That's not the Mazin Saga Garada (Garaja K7) at all. Garaja K7 has a triple-skull head and a skull torso.

There is no Doublas in Mazin Saga.

Strange, I remember seeing pics of him when I found pics from the Manga. :?

If that is the case, anyone know if they are based on anything? (if at all)

Re: Mazinkaiser SKL

It looks like they mixed Violence Jack and Mazinkaiser together in a bender and this was the result.

And that result looks so much fun!

3 minute PV: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/m8Eiyx20h5o

So SKL is a two seater, with one pilot for sword combat and one pilot for gun-kata combat. There's also a chick team and Kaiser actually steps on some one. Awesome.

Best stomp in mecha history, even better than SPT Laynzer's stomping on cyborgs.

Re: Mazinkaiser SKL

This has some references to other Nagai or Dynamic works:

- Mazinkaiser SKL's chest emblem is based on Devilman's head.
- Wingle is based on Devilman Lady.
- Ken Kaidou and Ryo Magami's codenames are Amon and Lucifer, respectively.
- The female Skull Force members are called the Gren Falcon Squad.
- Aira is Queen Aira Mu, who summons the hero to her world in the God Mazinger manga.
- Himiko is the Slum Queen from the Violence Jack manga.
- Aira's handmaidens (personal guard?) are named after Cutie Honey's transformations (Hurricane, Flash, Misty and Fancy).
- Ryo Magami's gun controls are kind of similar to those of Ryoma's in the Getter 1 in Shin (Change!!) Getter Robo.

The heavy metal theme fits perfectly.

Re: Mazinkaiser SKL

Just to add to the awesome, Media Blasters has already licensed this series for a US release.
Sakuya: "Whatever. Stop lying and give up your schemes, now."
Yukari: (Which lies and schemes are she talking about? It's hard to keep track of them all...)
