Mad Max: The Anime?

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... m-as-anime

Being a fan of the original Mad Max, I'm interested in what they'll be doing for this.

I can't wait to see some blue-haired, wide-eyed version of Master Blaster. Welcome back to Thunderdome!

YES!!!

I'm not a big anime fan outside of Gundam. But i'm gonna be all over this! Man awesome news. I just hope they don't give it the spiderman treatment or something. But seeing that millers going to be involved it's gonna probably be pretty decent quality.

Also wheres my mad max and thunderdome blu-rays????

One thing I am sad about is that (SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST MAD MAX MOVIE) my favorite character and Max's best friend, Jim Goose, won't be in the film since hes dead.

This sounds good to me but I am concerned casue there talking about making a American anime. Not that it wont be good but it dose worry me. I try not to be one of those fans thats like its only made in japan if its made anywere else it not anime. But in this case it seems a little shady to me at this point. Although im sure it will be fine.

The fact that its an "American" Anime bothers me, but I'm still going to give it a chance since most cartoons here in N.A. are starting to imitate anime styles in how they are drawn and presented. I can only hope its good since the first 3 were so good.

This NEEDS to be done like an 80s anime, it's the only way I can imagine it.

And MD Geist was awesome. :)

MD Geist was so stupid. It was on sci-fi a while back and.... I couldn't stomach it all. I watched like 20 minuets of it and had to turn it off. I still want my blue-haired Master Blaster though. Gotta have some of that blue hair.

It might be like M.D. Geist or Fist of the Northstar. But I think the thing that might be most like is the newer Highlander anime. And thats the kind of level I would expect a Mad Max anime to be at.

Well, anime generally is not kind to Australia when it comes to the future, especially post-apocalyptic future.
I can only imagine how it would turn out if it were an anime. Max will have to carry a samurai sword and will be about 10 years younger. His dog will become a loli-catgirl and his enemies will be mutants with mystical superpowers.

That would be an anime written by a Japanese. Since the man behind the original Mad Max is behind this "anime", it's DEFINITELY going to be closer to the originals than to any made-in-Japan features. You can bet on that.
Yay for functional signatures!

Mel has always said he was too old to play Max again. But I really hope since this is going to be an animated film, he'd be willing to reprise his role!

Didn't Harrison Ford say the same thing about Indiana Jones?
