Hi everyone, I'm new here. Originally I was contributing to the Gundam Wiki for a little bit, but I was not really feeling the camaraderie over there, and the unnecessary hoops to post something there.

Anyway, enough of that. I have information regarding one of the obscure MS called MS-06F2 Zaku II "Big Foot" featured in Gundam Weapons 3.

This is a rough machine translation from various Japanese sources:

Technical:
It is a modified MS-06F2 Zaku II equipped with a hover unit for mobility enhancement, and gained the name “Bigfoot” due to the enlarged impression of the legs.

Historical:
These units took part of the (African Front?), but due to the poor hover behavior of the mobile suits that some were reverted back to the standard type, it was considered inferior compared to the Dom Units; however some of the units still retained the modified specifications.

MMP-78 120 mm Zaku Machine Gun:

I hope this information helped, the historical/technical aspect was tricky to figure out due to the inferior machine translation, but I manage to clean it up. Most of the information came from a Sakura page, and oo (geocity?) Cities page that still retained the information thankfully. I was determined to track this Zaku down using Japanese language in google.

I'm not sure if I hit the motherlode or not, but I found most of these images from a blog that talked about a old board/book game called GUNDAMU GAMES (or GUNDAM GAMES to be exact I think). It features a obscure image I saw called the Jagd Zaku (which is some weird variant of a Zaku Tank)

According to an interview with the author of Gundam Thunderbolt, it would seem that it is not canon (or more rather its part of its own canon, much like The Origin):

People have been massively misinterpreting that to mean that Thunderbolt is not part of UC canon. Given Sunrise's stance that everything animated is official, nothing in Thunderbolt or The Origin suggests that they exist in a separate canon.

First of all, the that gamebook is exactly titled "Gundam GAMES - How to survive in the Gundam world", and was the number 1 release in the series "Tactics Perfect Manual" of the monthly magazine "Tactics", published by Hobby Japan on May 1988.

The mecha in the linked pictures are as follows:

From someone who wouldn’t love anything more than a gigantic Dolos like the one from The Origin manga, that could decimate the entire EF fleet on its own (or even just for a third ship of the class) to be part of the UC canon we are familiar with, I must say that the Dolos from Thunderbolt should be the most clear example that we are dealing with a separate/alternate UC timeline here.

The technology of Thunderbolt itself in many cases surpasses what we would see decades later in UC, for example, the existance of beam coating during the OYW, which according to Mark was limited to the Gelgoog’s zulu Shield, and even then, it could only partially block a beam shot received at an angle, has been changed to the degree that even the mass produced shields of GMs can stop the anti-ship beam from a Bigro at point blank range.

This is just a minor example of changes that would be hard to reconcile with the rest of the UC mechas we are familiar with, at least not without going through major redesigns of most UC mobile weapons and vehicles to incorporate features that in the Thunderbolt universe are staple (such as the extra arms of the space units), and which, while possibly more realistic by today’s real world standards, don’t follow the design philosophy of the prior designs.

If nothing else, I would suggest keeping Thunderbolt’s redesigns separate from the profiles of other UC series units for the time being, given their signifcant (sometimes even radical) differences, which do seem to support the idea that the author preferred to take the not canon route in order to have the freedom to implement those drastic changes.
