Uh think you linked to the wrong thing there.

Anyway I'm kind of disappointed that the suits are essentially just redesigns instead of entirely new suits. Way too early for me to say if I prefer the originals or not though. The Keldim looks to be the most radical departure from the original. I look forward to see what weapons are hidden in that armor, I certainly see quite a few places where they're probably hidden.

Woops... fixed link.

Considering how the design progression of CB has been (ex. Astraea to Exia), it's better to improve on a successful design than to create a radically new one.

That's certainly a good point that hadn't occurred to me yet. The more unique suits will likely be enemy MS. The Federation and Innovators probably have different design philosophies as well. Then I also expect to see some "older" mass produced HRL, AEU, and Union grunts with Tau Drives.

I have to admit, after seeing the four Gundams, I'm still the most curious about the 00 Gundam since it seems too basic but at least it looks like it is confirmed to have 2 GN Drives now.

Well, the suits are all kind of...well, expected successors. I was hoping for suits that were built upon the third generation suits, but departed a bit more from the looks (like Astraea to Exia). However, none of them look bad. It's interesting to see them without the GN capacitor in the chest. While they are all very similar to their third generation counterparts, they still look like nice designs. One thing that interesting me is the feet of the Kyrios Kai and Dynames Kai (going to use those names until we get official ones). They are almost non-existent.

Interesting. Visually I don't think they look more threatening than their predecessors, save the 00, which is unlike some of the universes (Zeta -> Double Zeta, Shenlong -> Altron, Freedom -> Strike Freedom). But yeah, obligatory comment about crappy linearts etc etc

These new suits are very esoteric. The design philosophy is an evolution on the previous generation, creating a rather radical set of "Gundams," that I can say would have been unsafe to use as the designs for the first season. Now that 00 has proven to be a success, the designers can get away with trying more exotic design styles.

Something of note here is the relative absence of calfs on the new Kyrios and Dyanmes model. Also, the units now possess rounded joints similar to Izubuchi's work instead of the blocky approach most mobile suits have possessed for the past 20 years. I'm liking the new V fin designs also, very different from typical \ / shape.

Seems like the original suits get themselves redesigned
I'm positive the only real one there is the 00. the other three look fake to me.

If you're going to make a comment about how you think the new Gundams are fake, do it in one thread, not both. There's no need to repeat yourself in both the anime and mecha forums.

Well the new Kyrios seems to be built a little tougher, I always considered it a wussy Gundam. As for the Virtue it looks the same, but probaly has a few new guns here and there. Dynames as well, pretty much the same thing with a different head.

Hmmmmmmmm

Interesting new looks, I wonder if Nadleeh is still hiding under Tieria's new Gundam. Most of its body did survive so its not impossible, come to think of it most of Kyrios survived as well, and if memory serves correctly Dynames completely survived, so it's not out of the question that these new suits are built from the former generation suits.

Last i saw he died... well, 00 aside, what if these new gundams are powered by Tau Drives, and built by the ESF?

This has already been proven to not be the case. We know that Celestial Being recovered the four GN Drives, and they still had the 0 Gundam's GN Drive. We already see at least one suit being tested with a real GN Drive at the end of episode 25. Also, why would Celestial Being use the inferior, fake Tau drives in their Gundams?

I have to say i'm not a big fan of the new machines. They look as if they lack detail and are just stripped down almost mass produced versions of the 3rd gen gundams, save 00. They lack the sleekness and unique quality that seperated Gundam 00 from all the Gundam f91 knockoffs that have been bouncing around since g.

But you have to admit, the styling doesn't resemble anything in the past.

While I don't believe Nadleeh is underneath, there probably is a Gundam underneath all that armor.

^^I think so too, look at the shoulders and hip joints. They get really small in both those areas. Looking at the new Virtue's knees though...does anyone else see the similarity in shape of the knees to the shoulder mounted GN canons? Methinks Virtue got a serious upgrade in firepower.

I'm really digging the new Dynames head design. Still, having a Dynames at all raises the question of just who the pilot could be...

One thing about the rightmost three new MS: we aren't going to be able to judge their true capabilities until we see some equipment art because like the originals they seem to be optimized for external weapons rather than being mobile fortresses like the Virtue.
Yay for functional signatures!

Ok so marked differences now are,
Fins on the torso now migrated to the head, less round heads (other than kyrios upgrade). A distinct lack of visible GN Condensers and chest cavity, except on 00, and visible GN cables. I believe that maybe the whole frame will be used to conduct GN particles (like the thrones did), rather than specialised cables.
Also notice the back of the arms on the 00, it appears to be a beam shield emitter similar to the one on the V and V2 gundams. I feel with the extra GN drive this will be a very beam sword intensive monster capable of creating Giant GN beam sabers a la Ideon Sword!
