Those E-caps on the Full Armor Gundam (Thunderbolt ver.)

Does anyone here know what they're actually for normally? I don't think we've ever seen the E-caps being used to replenish the Twin Beam Rifle, and while the Gundam does have a beam rifle that uses those E-caps according to the Master Grade, it's not like it carries that beam rifle around during combat. So, if it's not normally carrying the beam rifle that those E-caps are for, then why does the FA Gundam carry them around?

Everything I can find says the e-pacs on the shield are for the twin beam rifle.

AFAIK the only E-cap storage on it was on its backpack.
