The Musai's 'HRSL'?

I found this image in a post on Anaheim Journal (blog that translates mecha data books material to English) about the Musai series.

The thing that is attached to the Musai's aft is, apparently, an "HRSL". Other than a couple of passing mentions around here, I can't find any information about it, other than them being related to atmospheric drop operations.

It seems to be either an additional thruster that would've allowed the Musai-class to operate on gravity like the Zanzibar- or Endra-classes; or is a heavy drop pod related to the HLV that's tugged by the Musai from a forward base to low Earth orbit.

So, does anyone have additional information on this?

Re: The Musai's 'HRSL'?

According to Gundam Century, it stands for "Heavy Return Storm Launch" (or more literally, "heavy lift return-capable assault landing craft"). It's basically an HLV-style capsule that's carried in the Musai's "belly", in the space between its engines. Ironically, it's pictured right there in the image at the top of the page you linked to.

"Heavy Return Storm Launch" is quite Engrishy. Even for Gundam's standards.

Thanks for your reply, Mark. Funny that we haven't seen more of this capsule elsewhere.

Not much "irony" as it being used as the header of the latest post.
