What's bugging me right now is those "torso" beam cannons we saw on the Patulia this week. Are those a part of the original design that simply went unused in X, or were they invented for BF Try? Because I don't recall seeing them when Garrod fought the original.

As for Adou's new machine, I can't identify any part of it. Though the large "hands" seem to be a combination of the Regnant's and more obviously the Devil Gundam Final Form's Devil Fingers.

Speaking of which, from where did those faces on its hands come?

Patulia "torso" beam cannons were always mentioned in the armament list but only used now, it has 4 total

IIRC, games like G Generation F and Super Robot Wars depicted the Patulia's beam cannons being beneath the "torso", in the part of the main body revealed when the two front halves opened up.

Yeah, only someone with lineart with the original designer notes can verify if they are set officially somewhere. Mark has the Gundam X 3D mook, perhaps it's there

Yep, they're labeled as "charged particle cannon" in the torso closeup line art. Two in the chest, two on the "hips".

That's where I remembered seeing them, too, which is why the "torso" cannons seen on Try this week were so surprising. But then I'm still confused about a lot of the odd bits from X that pop up in video games, like the Febral's finger gun-sabers and machinecannons.

Yeah, kinda. It and the Burning seem to have gone the "More Plavskies" route while the Lightning fits its name very well much like the GP-01.

Amuro: The problem is... with the upgrade parts, couldn't she just build upgrade parts and then give them to them to put on their gunpla, and then build a machine that doesn't just function as a core fighter? You have to admit that they were gimping her in the battles. As much as I was starting to want to defend the show/Winning Gundam, it's literally done nothing but get blown up, besides scoring the kill on the Ez-8 team's dude.

I'm sorry but I'm starting to see it as a legitimate complaint really since even I am starting to be bothered by it, and I was trying to defend it for a bit, but it seriously feels like Fumina doesn't do anything except provide parts that she could just as easily build outside the battle and give to them to attach to their Gunpla.

I don't necessarily see it as a sexism thing (Though anime does have obvious problems with that too that even a blind person could see), but more or less I just want to see the team all doing stuff, to me, she feels like the most disposable because her MS has literally just ineffectually fired its beam machine gun, and then split apart as a power up. I'm just hoping the Star Winning is more its own MS and less a power up is all. It's not anything I'll hate the series over if its otherwise, it's just a minor bit disappointing to me.

Either way, it looks like that complaint is getting addressed, since the parts Star Winning sheds to beef up Try Burning are just extra bit (V-fin, shoulder armor, backpack) rather than being core components of its MS Mode.
