Ok let's analyze the PV and the lineart/sketches shown

A)G-Self has at least 5 forms, by adding packs and changing colors:

1)Base Form, the most used one with 2 backpacks:

I)Atmospheric Pack: brought equipped on G-Self by Raraiya and then hidden by Noredo. Sketch shows it also has a Shield with Beam Shield capability, the lineart one from the PV is different but still red and looks cooler. Beam Rifle can fold and also carries Beam Saber. Promotional art and sketch shows 2 lower blue protrusions equipped on it, but the HG model and the lineart lack this feature so far.
II)Space Backpack: Produced in Amelia but surprisingly is compatible with G-Self. Shown in PV being used by Aida and has 2 large blue boosters. Uses the ugly small blue shield in the PV but sketch also shows it with the red Beam Shield. Sketch also shows it equipped with a large unknown weapon. Beam Rifle can fold and also carries Beam Saber.

2)Assault Pack, color changes to red. Is equipped with Beam Rifles, Missiles and Beam Sabers. The back protrusion can emit a 500m long Beam Saber that can cut battleships in three. Furthermore, it was not made for the G-self, but a defected product from another unknown unit that does not exist anymore in this period in time. Because the weaponry is of unknown origin and is thus unstable, it is not used much in fear that (the power) may stop.

3)Reflector Pack, color changes to grey. I read the following in katakana: Laser, Beam Rifle Mega Particles, Photon Battery. Perhaps it's a defense form that reflects attacks and charges the batteries?

4)Not pictured

5)Tricky Pack, color changes to gold. Has a large circular attachment plus 2 large front protrusions. Only a small part of the text is legible...

B)Unknown Purple MS: shown in PV, I can read it has Block Bits.

Regarding the mech designers:
-Akira Yasuda: confirmed to have designed G-Self and Recten. Grimoire is mostly also his. Charged with MS design
-Ippei: confirmed to have designed Montero. 2ch speculates he also did Catsith and Elf Bull. Charged with MS design and weapon design for MS
-Yamane will be in charge of ship design

Eh, I'm not seeing the custom Grimoire. I think it just has a couple common design elements (which makes sense, considering they're both pirate machines).

I'm sort of curious on what kind of role photons play in this series technology. We have the orbital elevator which delivers photon batteries to earth. We then have the reflector pack which apparently makes mention of a photon battery. This has me wondering are Reguild era mobile suits powered by these photon batteries ? Is a minovsky particle then a type of photon ? Is a photon a side effect of a minovsky reactor ?

I mean if we look at the definition of the word photon.

Minovsky particles are said to be subatomic particles and explicitly have mass. Sure, it's next to nothing, but photons are inherently different in that they have no mass (they're pure energy that can be identified and quantified) and they have no charge. The new photon battery stuff may be related back to Minovsky physics, but not necessarily. Photons are expressions of electromagnetic radiation, so it could just be a fancy solar-charged battery that's ultra-efficient. Since it is the future of UC this new technology could replace or enhance Minovsky technology, but we'll have to wait for more of an explanation on what these battery things do, exactly.

-Montero Krim Nicks Custom: Beam Javelin is housed in 2 parts in large shields. Beam Javelin emits Beam Wire. Has Rifle(unknown if Beam or solid) and 6 grenades on hips. Now we know there are other customs or at least a base unit

-G-Self Atmospheric Pack: has Photon Armor(neon parts)

-Grimoire: has Sub Machine Gun with Beam Wire capabilites. Spherical cockpit is called Nucleus. Also has a shied and combat knife.

I was actually about to ask if 'G-Arcane' would be a more accurate translation, over Alkane, but yeah. Loving the way it looks, it's probably my favorite design so far. I also find it amusing that the Montero's Javelin is an actual javelin, rather than a spear like most 'javelins' in Gundam seem to be.
