コマンド is generally used for computer terms. Such as command prompt.

There are Japanese (kanji) equivalent words for irregular soldiers or a unit of.

That said, it's unlikely that anyone will name a GM variant with a Japanese name. I think Commando is a pretty valid interpretation for the intent of the name.
