Axis Interior Layout?

So how exactly does the living situation on Axis work? Are the residential blocks scaled down Space Colonies, or are they more of a layered concept like Lunar Cities? Does anyone actually live inside Axis itself? Or has Moussa been transformed into a colony, while Axis has the factories and bases?

Axis itself has pretty minimal residential facilities. It was constructed almost exclusively as a space fortress.

The attached asteroid Moussa contains Axis's residential areas, including its large-scale gravity block. That was why it was detached from Axis when Neo Zeon attempted to weaponize it.

Looking closer at Axis interior shots; you can see its actually a mix of different designs, which makes sense given how the base was slowly built up over time. The Axis portion appears to have tunnels that have been modified into living quarters, while Moussa seems to basically be a closed type space colony.
