Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

- Near Gryps 2 -

- Lt. Dolk -

While his CO and his other stubborn, independent-minded wingman were menacing the Nemos of the Balrampur Team, Dolk had taken his sweet time lazily following Stukov from a course high 'above' the battlefield. The glow of the panoramic monitors and HUD shone on the closed visor of his helmet and the sunglasses beneath it, hiding his eyes as he peered down at the new skirmish heating up between Alpha and the AEUG. There was a scant moment of relative silence in his cockpit as one track ended and another began, and in the brief window of noiselessness his computer bracketed the green Salamis Kai below with a targeting layout and a dull ping. "Heh," he chuckled, hefting the Griffin's boxy rifle again as he calmly drew a bead on the ship. The firing reticle drifted across his screen before settling on the green warship just aft of the bridge tower.

Stukov and Pan turned to meet the oncoming Rick Diases of Team 3 as Dolk accelerated into a dive and the first shot left his rifle. He began as a blue blur high above the rebel ship, firing multiple times as he came at them in a near-vertical attack, using basic but brutally effective tactics that had been invented and perfected during the last war. His slightly-disinterested smirk broadened into a grin as the lead shot slammed into the Balrampur, ripping through armor and vital areas forward of the engines. A second clipped the bow, burning a jagged line down the very front of the ship. By the time he was nearly level with her and the anti-MS gunners were firing, a third shot speared the port side gun block, ruining the heavy guns there and causing a sizeable explosion that forced the vessel into a slight list. "Sonic death!" Dolk cried out as he blazed past the staggered ship, leveling out his dive and turning slightly on his side to aim back at her. Another squat, yellow beam streamed from his rifle aimed straight for the bridge.

- Beta Team -

Wolf and Daren drew near to the edge of the floating debris, not once looking back or slowing down to let Sven catch up. It was as if Ritter had simply written him off and moved on. While he was outwardly detached and perversely logical about it, reacting with anger when questioned by Daren, internally he was angry for a different reason. Sven was one of his only trustworthy allies, and something did feel wrong about wasting his life in such an offhand manner. He couldn't admit he may have been wrong to Nwosu - certainly not so quickly - and he couldn't turn back for Sven with so little ammo, so he was stuck seething in silence. As their Barzams moved away from each other to begin avoiding the first of the noticeable garbage, a friendly transmission trickled in on an open channel. It was weak and there was still some interference from the shoal zone, but he could make out most of the words. "If you can hear this... Fall back to your ship. Stop thinking you're a hero and fall back to your ship. Situation is FUBAR..." the voice commanded. Wolf's expression darkened further, his brow knitting as he slammed a hand down on the comm controls in frustration. "Who the hell are you?" he demanded, abruptly changing course to head for the source of the transmission.

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

- Gryps 2 Space -

- The Balrampur -
- Bridge -

Capt. Keaton clutched the arms of his command chair as the deck plates beneath him shuddered from some unseen secondary explosion. The bridge crew had been monitoring his Nemo team's battle with the strange Titans mobile suits as best they could, and then... "I can't find it!" someone yelled, the visceral panic clear in his voice. Another crewman answered hoarsely, "There! There!", stabbing a finger towards the windows as they tried to keep an eye on the electric blue menace that had so suddenly appeared above them. The first shot from Dolk had annihilated an important part of the engineering section and had damaged part of the ship's power plant, causing them to partially lose power and helm control. The crimson emergency lighting on the bridge flickered ominously as a pair of crewmen hurriedly worked to restore secondary manual control. "We're getting reports of catastrophic failures from--" Keaton's XO began to report, but he was interrupted by another, much closer rumble that caused both officers to cling to the closest stationary object to stay upright.

"THERE IT IS!!" someone screamed, causing Keaton to turn away from his harried assistant in time to see the Griffin rocket past, now traveling on roughly the same level as the ship. "Why have they stopped firing? Shoot it down!" another operator cried, causing the captain to notice that the ship's guns had indeed fallen eerily silent. "More power failures..." he said quietly, glancing at his XO and receiving a sharp nod in confirmation. The lieutenant's expression was an admirable attempt at remaining stoic under the circumstances, but Keaton could see the younger man's lip trembling. "Make sure damage control is doing what they can," the captain said, trying to ignore the increasing levels of wild panic gripping the crew on the bridge. The emergency lights cut out, sending the room into a deep darkness with only the visible flashes of the battle through the bank of windows to provide some illumination. The captain was about to speak again when another source of light revealed itself. "Belay that order and stand by," Keaton said in an accepting tone as he watched Dolk's parting shot approach. The last word had scarcely crossed his lips when the beam lanced through the bridge, vaporizing everyone and everything inside, blowing out the windows and effectively destroying the entire top of the bridge tower.

- The Dervish -
- Bridge -

"CAPTAIN!" Jane called out, her voice tinged with shocked panic, drawing Abbey's attention to her side of the bridge just in time to see a series of explosions dying down off their port side. "The Balrampur!" he gasped, rising from his seat slightly as another blast blossomed out of the stricken ship. His eyes went wide as he got a better look at just how severe the damage was thanks to a magnified image on one of the monitors. "Karl!" he muttered, collapsing back into his chair. The Salamis Kai was listing even more, its bridge tower 'decapitated' in a melted, ruined mess as arcs of electricity and small explosions rippled across its surface. "

- The Hamburg -
- Bridge -

"God DAMN it!" Capt. Loweno growled, pounding a fist against the thick glass of the bridge window, "We couldn't establish contact fast enough!". With no solid information to go on and such a beat up mobile suit team, the Hamburg had been all but forced to stand by and watch as the Balrampur and her Nemos were set upon by Alpha. "That was on us. Those are Titans suits, John," Loweno said harshly as he turned away from the row of windows, "I screwed up and Karl paid the price...". Lt. Stalvern turned away from the sight of the slowly dying Salamis Kai and shook his head, "Sir, we took the initiative driving back that unit mucking about in the debris, and we took a beating doing it. You can't blame yourself if they brought more firepower than we expected. ...Hell, sir, they're not even supposed to be here,". "That doesn't matter, John. That was my responsibility..." André said as he pulled the helmet of his normal suit off. "I hate this damned thing!" he muttered, hucking the helmet away to take his anger out on something as he wiped the sweat from his brow.

The comm operator quietly waved for Lt. Stalvern's attention to avoid bothering the captain, and indicated that there was an incoming message. "This is Ensign Ishma, just wanted to let you know that I found your princess. Should get a medic or something ready for when I land. She doesn't seem to bad off but I'm sure she's in pain. As for her current status, she's out cold right now..." the pilot from the Seattle reported, the message only slightly distorted. Stalvern nodded to the operator and moved away to call sick bay to make sure the medics were ready for Paris. "Ensign, you're cleared for landing..."

- Team 1 -

Fritz was set to lead his team away from the complicated brawl going on between the moving fleets when a series of messages and incoming fire forced him to quickly change plans. First came Spach and McCoy on their run at freedom - a spray of beam fire from the pair cut across the team's path, some of it aimed at them and some aimed at Hepburn and Nick. "You lunatics just can't help yourselves can you? You can't stop until you make someone kill you!" Jacob yelled, turning to fire at them and brace himself for whatever high speed attack might be coming. Fritz slowed and fired his verniers, spinning him enough to use his remaining arm to add a pair of shots of his own at the fleeing Gaza-Cs. The long burst of full-auto fire provided by Nick stupefied him for a second before he realized what it was, and in that small span of time Sven charged ahead far enough to take aim at him while he was slowed down. “You might jest Ashlyn, but there are none here quite as capable of misplacing trigger discipline then Te’litha, or perhaps you hadn’t heard about the late Ritter Senior?. Too bad, you can discuss it with Te’litha when he joins you in hell," Haksson said, firing off another large burst of heavy ordinance and a pair of bazooka rounds.

"You think that makes me trust Nick less?" Fritz said incredulously at the quip about the dead Ritter patriarch. He should have taken the time to move instead of speak, however, as one of the shoulder-fired missiles came close enough to detonate and spray shrapnel across his Rick Dias' back. "Verdammt!" Fritz grunted, kicking himself for acting like a foolish rookie as he acted quickly to jettison the binder damaged by the explosion after his computer began to wail for his attention. He sprang back into action, putting some distance between his suit and the binder in case it ruptured, and found himself closer to Michiko again. "That one isn't like the high performance unit that was at the Gate of Zedan... It looks like a Barzam," Michiko said, angling her flight path 'up' to keep a safe distance from Fritz. "A Barzam overcompensating for something," Fritz muttered as he looked over the damage readout on his HUD. If he didn't have an impetus to get to the Dervish before, he had been provided with one.

- New Yark Team -

"Ramon! What the hell--!" Thibaut blurted as he watched the Balrampur rapidly go dead in the water from the rapid pounding it took courtesy of Dolk's Griffin. "Foooo~! Keep moving!" Hard AE said, accelerating as they came closer to the small area of fighting that had developed near the ship. Trying to put the image of the burning Salamis Kai out of his mind, the young Chareux adopted a GM firing stance and aimed at the fast-moving Stukov. Ramon opened fire a split second before Thibaut, and the pair combined to shoot four or five beam rifle blasts at the Griffin from medium range.

- The Bindra -
- Bridge -

"What? Hurry up! Graden is out there on his own until those mobile suits are refueled!" Capt. Wald ordered, relaying his irritated half of a conversation through an exasperated Gina at one of the internal comm stations. "Capt. Wald, Ken Graden may be a decent pilot but if he's stuck out there--" Lt. Ball said, interrupting. "That's what I'm trying to prevent," Pizal said to the veteran before turning back to the comm. "Tell them they've got three minutes," Wald said to Gina, who was still trying to listen to the mechanic on the other end of the connection. "Captain, they say it'll take at least four to do everything properly... there are safety protocols..." she said, still trying to listen to both men as she parroted the answer. "I don't care about the safety protocols right now! Tell him--" Pizal began, as the voice in her ear was still angrily repeating himself "Tell him--". "HERE!" she said finally, punching a button that muted the connection in her helmet and transferring it to Wald's. Before he could start talking again, one of Sophie's long range shots plowed into the bow of the ship and a slight tremble ran through the hull. "Damage to the Komusai, captain... not much else. We got lucky on that one," Vada called out within seconds. The damage control team was so busy that they preemptively sent in a report through the observers.

- Spach Team -

"Lt. McCoy, there is an enemy approaching from your starboard side - 2 o'clock low..." Spach informed his wingman as they began to steadily take fire form the AEUG and Titans alike. "I see hi--" McCoy began to snap back, but he was silenced as one of Nick's bullets impacted his cockpit and turned him into mush a second before Jacob's beam blew the Gaza in half. Spach remained quiet even as his last subordinate and compatriot died, still surging forward to get past Jackson Hepburn. He fired his claw guns and knuckle buster in short controlled bursts as he approached, trying to destroy the MS outright or drive it out of his path.

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

- Stukov -

The Cossack had only a bare moment to note the carnage visited upon the Balrampur out of the corner of his eye before threat indicators wailed about the rear attack from New Yark Team; he pushed into a brief and tight corkscrew-and-dip that allowed the beams to scream past, though some flew close enough by to leave long superficial burn marks along the torso. The maneuver was done in such a tight box that an observer might at first think the beams had somehow phased through him.

Those interloping Nemos, however, were too far behind – and the acceleration difference between a Nemo and a Griffin too great – to hope to catch up, so Stukov ignored them in favor of the Rick Dias team ahead.

Pan and Terrace traded shots on one side. Meanwhile, the fully-extended sea serpent trailing from Stukov’s MS crackled once with a hateful charge before the entire set of the Griffin’s forward verniers exploded to life, rocketing to blue machine “upward”; with a sudden snap, it changed directions once again, diving violently at the Dervish’s third suit team at an acute angle; Stukov hurled the electrified weapon at Wes Curren’s mobile suit.

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

- Bort B. Mart -

Ens. Mart's suit sputtered into formation with Kou Uraki's barely-escaped machined. The Nemo Cannon had taken heavy damage - the right arm and much of the armor on the right torso had been shorn off by Stukov's attack, exposing much of the torso mechanics. The shoulder cannon that gave the suit its name had been severely damaged and was no longer functional, and the right side of the unit's head was slagged. A single vulcan gun, along with the beam saber clutched in the left hand, were all Mart had left for functional armaments.

"Lieutenant..." he murmured, only a hint of shakiness in the edges of his voice. At that moment, the Balrampur's bridge was blown wide open, and catastrophic explosions rocked the vessel. "Jesus!" howled the young pilot.

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

-Jack-

Funny thing of irony for Spach was that Jack was assuming the same thing, turning his attention quickly to Spach's Gaza as it approached from the quickly disintegrating Gaza that had once been flown by one McCoy. Hopefully the poor man's bones would finally have a chance to rest in peace as the targeting reticule on the Marasai's panoramic display swung to catch the Gaza just as it let loose a volley of beam fire from it's claws and knuckle buster.

On an open comm frequency, Jack mused once more.. as if making it a habit now.

"Hey Zeke.. ever wonder why tha hell your engineers designed such ugly ass suits?"

The Marasai's beam rifle came to bear with a stream of four rifle shots as timed bursts from his thrusters brought him swerving around the volley that Spach had sent at him.

"Brings back old times, Zeke.. how about some good ole quarterback sack!"

Even as Spach came closer and would undoubtedly try to dodge the beams, it would soon become apparent that Jack was going to ram the Gaza full on, noted on his screen by an increase in velocity for the Marasai. A visual que of this would obviously take form by a burst from it's main engines.

In another form of irony, he took the classic Zaku shoulder rush form once meters from the Gaza. It was only a matter of chicken between the two. Would Spach flinch first.. or let the fragile Gaza take a full brunt assault from Jack?

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

[Heyden]

Pan was quick to reach for his sea serpent, while his Griffin almost corkscrewed around a bazooka round. He had noticed the exploding Balrampur off in the distance. "Thats what i'm ^&^*ing talking about!" He bellowed as he continued on his eratic course closing the distance with team and sending a barrage of four moderatly aimed shots at the same unit Stukov was firing at. The multi-talented Heyden was even able to fling his sea serpent at the Rick Dias S. "Surprise!" All the while staying out of Stukov's line of sight.

[Graden]

Kenneth twirled around the shots, with as much finesse as a Gaza-C would allow. "You ignorant fools get away from here!" The OYW vet timed his shots expertly trying to predict where the lead rick dias would be instead of where it was when he fired.

[Gwen]
Gwen was in her pilot suit and was clinging to a railing in the hangar. Her overall usefullness in the hangar was pretty much negligiable. And she was ushered out of the way "Where's commander Graden? Why hasn't he come back yet?" She asked noone in particular. It was clear that the young trainee was worried, and it was obvious to her that things were not going as well as they had hoped. Her question was first answered by the loud rumble of the ship taking a hit from one of the approaching Rick Dias. Gwen actually lost her grip on the catwalk and floated right up into the ceiling with a scream as the hangar's lights flickered on and off.

-Kou-

Kou's mind suffered severe whiplash from his relief that Mart was alive to horror that his homeship was not. Swearing profusely, Kou immediately assessed the situation. "OK, Mart, don't panic. We're gonna head over to the Dervish, OK? Can you make it, or do you need me to carry you?" while waiting for a responce, Kou sent a transmission to the Dervish. "This is Ensign Kou Uraki of the Balrampur. Our ship just got blasted, and I have one severely damaged wingman. Can we dock?"

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

-Team 1-

Jacob felt a certain amount of satisfaction as another Gaza-C was destroyed. It was difficult to tell whether the death was caused by his beam or the high velocity rounds of the Titan's Mobile suit, but he hardly cared. It only mattered that there was one less enemy to face.

His attention was caught by the attack of one of the Titans on his commanding officer but before he could retaliate or move to defend Fritz, it seemed that the serpent was beginning to devour itself. At least it seemed that the Titans were turning on themselves. He felt no need to help them kill each other. The time for the survivors would come later.

But an unusually large explosion in the distance caught his attention. He was all too familiar with what a sinking Salamis Kai looked like so when he saw the way the Balrampur was listing, he knew what it meant and a shot of cold dread spiked through his stomach and into his spine. A set of thruster flares caught his attention and he magnified them.

It took only seeing the cause of the Balrampur's demise for the cold in his stomach to evaporate into white hot hatred.

"That bastard! I'll kill him! I'LL KILL HIM! I'M GOING TO #$%ING KILL HIM!" he shouted over an open channel when he spotted the blue Mobile suit. Of course, he'd seen at least one other suit that looked exactly the same, but there was no doubt in Jacob's heart that the person who'd just killed the Balramur was the same one who'd killed Clute.

It was not time for revenge yet, though. It was time to reload and refuel and pray that the monster did not leave the field of battle while he prepared himself to bring him to justice.

-Bindra Team-

Djorn was out of his Mobile Suit almost before it came to a (skidding) halt. He was currently wrestling with a hose that delivered propellant to his suit, waving away one of the engineers. "I've got this!" he shouted, stopping to raise his visor so the man could hear him as he repeated his statement. "Work on something else. I've got more dirt grubbers to kill out there."

He wasn't going to wait patiently for the flight crew to service his Gaza-C. Especially after the ship rumbled from a hit and it became evident that Graden was holding the line on his own.

"We have to help the CO! Come on, come on, fill already, FILL!" he growled at the hose that seemed to have decided to take hours to replace the propellant he'd used.
Yep...That's Texas in a nutshell. Why just say "f**k you" when you can put it on a flag?

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

With hands in mouth trying to hold her feeling inside, Irene watched in sheer disbelief as one of nearby Salamis Kai, the Balrampur took its fateful shot and now drifted dead in space. The area around the port hole became dead silent. Few cried names of people… friends, even relatives who were aboard the Balrampur. Soft murmur began to arise but none registered much to her until somebody spoke of the blue MS. She approached the man and asked, “Is it true? The Blue MS? The same Blue machine that we encountered minutes ago?” Her voice was rather cold and harsh, she cannot calmed her emotion fast enough.

The corridor turned dead quiet for the second time when Irene blurted the question. Few people on errand floated in the background, hurriedly to get their job done. Seconds passed as the realization that the same blue machine might be also be the same one that killed their CO and wreck the entire Hamburg Team homed hard to The Hamburg's crew consciousness. Many just looked around to find answer only to see their mates' faces being unsure and paler than seconds before.

“Cursed it!” Irene was the first to spoke. “First it’s our.. the entire of my team! Randy, Alfred, even Paris… and now the Balrampur. Mart.. wasn’t Ens Mart posted there…?”

Hearing Mart name, the situation began to really feel uncomfortable.

“At least Paris is safe,” one man said that, giving him instant spotlight. “didn’t any of you heard? That new pilot, he just retrieved Paris and are about to land,” the news send many people back from their thoughts. People left and did their job with renewed strength.

Someone touched Irene at her shoulder, she turned around and the guy pointed out to the port hold. “That,” he pointed out to the Balrampur, “it’s all over for her.. We cannot change the ship’s fate. But we can still continue her crews’ fight. The war isn’t over miss..”

Irene hurried left for the bridge. There she addressed Capt. Loweno and his XO as best as she could without making a commotion. “Sir, I heard about that blue MS,” she carefully selected her words, “if there is available machine in another ship, I’d gladly volunteer myself for another sortie,” her face hinted an uncertainty but her voice was clear and firm. She was determined to make some payback to that blue machine.

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

-team 3-

"We need to take these guys down now, before they can get anymore of us!" terrace yelled as he charged in after heyden

"i hear y-" wales began as he reorientated himself to follow terrace's lead, but was cut off by a warning signal blaring in the cockpit, looking around he caught a glimpse of dolks griffin as its began its attack run on the Balrampur, spearing it with multiple beam shots as the blue MS descended vertically.

"WHERE THE F*** DID HE COME FRO-" he yelled, stopping mid sentence as the griffin lazily turned onto its side and let off one last shot, anihilating the bridge of the salamis-kai.

"The..the balrampur....no way..." wales murmured, feeling somewhat torn, though he had only been on the ship for the best part of a week and a half prior to his transfer, it was still long enough to get to know most of the crew. another warning signal wailed in the cockpit as heyden fired at him, gunning the throttle wales boosted well out of the way of the incomming shots, sending a couple of loosely aimed bazooka rounds back in retaliation. dammit, get it together and stick to the plan.. he chastised himself, his suits computer had picked up the pressence of the New Yark's nemos moving to support wes, so he formed up next to Trask and provided supporting fire, shooting the beam pistol at stukov a few times in rapid succession, as he trained his bazooka towards heyden he saw Trask open up with the twin beam cannon at dolk, seeing that he backed away from the kanone dias slightly, despite having urge to join in he knew that willingly engaging that third suit would be tantamount to suicide, but that didn't change him wanting to see whoever was piloting it die painfully

-Hamburg, landing

Kite took a deep breath as his Nemo landed without a hitch and returned to teh depths of the Hamburg once more. He didi his best to keep his thoughts off of the Balrampur. More comrades...gone, nothing he could have done really. Jsut get himself and Paris killed, and she just escaped that fate not to long ago. But dammit, ti really got udner his skin.

As the cockpit opened Kite stayed still as oen of the medics pulled Paris away from his Nemo. Kite himself struggling to make a choice he was sure he wouldnt live long enough to think back on and curse himself for how stupid it was. He opened the comm once more and connected with the Hamburg's bridge as his grip around the controls tightened. "B-bridge...Any idea where that Blue MS is heading? I would like to cut it off before it causes anymore damage."

He sighed waiting for a responce as the cockpit closed and his eyes doign hte same as he relaxed a bit and started praying. Well...if i'm going to go then I may as well attempt to nail that bastar before I do. I'm sure I'll fail...but what else can I do...this is what I signed up for. I'm a pilot, an AEUG pilot. I'll kill that punk! For the Seattle, for the Balrampur...for this ships safety. There was no second guessign it. If tehy gave him waht he needed then he was going without a second thought.

"Can you make it, or do you need me to carry you?"

While Kou was saying this, Mart was rapidly assessing the damage to his Nemo. He shut down a few systems to stop a fluid leak in the damage area before responding, his voice stabilized back to its more usual laid-back baritone, "My main thrusters lost a good deal of power; think I'll need to be towed, yeah."

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

- Team 3 -

The events leading to the Balrumpur's sinking simply happened too quickly for Curren to react. One moment he was focused on the three incoming blue mobile suits, the next he was caught off-guard by the brilliant explosion that encompassed the area where the Salamis Kai's bridge once was. He had no idea when or how the third bogey had broken off and taken out the ship so quickly. The erratic movements by this team in particular were simply insane and borderline unpredictable.

"S***..."

Wes snapped out of his gaze just quickly enough to avoid the sea serpent hurled over by Stukov's Griffin, which in turn allowed Wes to avoid Pan's shots as well. He then took aim with both beam pistols and fired off 3 blasts at each aggressor.

"Focus... focus... focus...!" Wes muttered through gritted teeth. He was going to need all the concentration in the world to help take down these blue suits, and he simply can't afford to lose any focus after seeing first-hand what they were capable of doing.

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

[Pan Heyden]

The powerful and gracefull Griffin came to almost a complete stop and it's green eyes flashed menacingly. Why did the machine slow to a stop? Heyden's sea serpent was ensnared around Terrace's Rick Dias S' arm. The AEUG pilot's first response was to try and cut the wire, but Heyden quickly tugged the line and caused the rick dias to drop it's saber.

Not really sure what he was waiting for, Heyden then sent a fatal dose of electricity straight down the wire, and into the cockpit of the Rick Dias S. In a bizare lapse of concentration, heyden briefly thought of what he had just done, could he have just killed that quiet guy Clute? Was it that clown Eckardy? Or Ashlyn?

Heyden didn't put any more thought into it, because just as he was disengaging his sea serpent a trio of shots kinda came close to being a threat. Well they would've been a threat if Pan was pilotting a Salamis. "What the hell?" He said his Griffin cutting hard to the left in an arc, as he caught sight of the culprit who just fired at him.

"Akimbo style? you kidding me?" He said bursting out in laughter.

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

- Team 2 -

"Lets finish this quick, Sophie..."

Seeing that they'd have an enemy on them soon and that they were both low on fuel, Sophie was quick to agree. Aiming at the ship which she had struck with one round already, she let two more rounds fly.

"Alright Eddie, I'd say its a safe bet to get out of here now."

- Team 3 -

As he began his attack Terrace could see how fast the Griffin was able to move, how skilled its pilot was at controlling it and he quickly realized he was in over his head. The stupidity of charging on his own to take on a enemy that had already wreaked havoc on two teams prior to Team 3 engaging them was setting in.

The problem was, rather then disengage from the fight he froze, unable to process the correct tactic in the moment. I wasn't until he noticed that something was wrapped around in the arm of his Rick Dias S. He quickly moved to cut the cable connecting the sea serpent to the Griffin, but he was stopped by the the Titans mobile suit.

He was about to yell out, call for help, even scream in fright. But the electricity shot down the wire of the sea serpent, coursing straight up the arm of the Rick Dias S. The current of the electricity was so high that Terrace didn't even feel the pain that would have made him scream.

It was as if somebody had flipped a switch, one moment he was alive, the next he was dead.

"Four minutes sir," another mechanic reported to Nikolai.

He was sitting in the cockpit with the hatch open, just waiting for the moment he was told he could launch. Julian's death had shaken him up a touch, as much as he was glad to be rid of the arrogant prick, it still ran through his mind. The one thing he didn't want however was to see Graden go down just like that, all on his own.

"Why are you waisting time on telling me how long it will be, just get the work done and tell me when I can launch!" he responded to the mechanic.
"Kamille, if it wasn't for you...." Jerid's last words

"You bastard... You don't get it! I'm... I'm special! I'm famous! I'm the king of mock battles!" Patrick

Shellia stared at Nikolai and bit her tongue in frustration when he barked at one of her mechanics. So much for giving these pilots some courtesy or he'd be asking every minute if they were done, she figured.

She gave a wave to the mechanic who was servicing his Gaza. "Go ahead and cut him loose. He's ready," she yelled then looked up at the rookie pilot. "Sorry, just being thorough so your suit doesn't fall apart during launch,"

Gamma

Lt. Te'litha

Nick saw a few of his shots stitch across McCoy's fast approaching blue Gaza. One, he noted with supreme satisfaction, obliterated the head section before the doomed suit was speared in half by one of Jacob's shots.
"NICK! Go! Sven's bug*shinkt*ut! High tail it back to th*zkkt*n't wait for me!"
"Right, I owe you one," Nick decided to heed Jack's advice and took off back in the direction of the Debris field but not before he buzzed almost directly over Spach and shot downwards at the final Zeon on his scope as Hepburn fired too, before his subordinate literally charged the Axis pilot. After that, Nick made for his own lines, following in roughly the same direction Sven went, hoping that the dog might lead him to the master. He noted the light from the dieing Balrampur to his left with his slight manic grin, with all the Zeons he killed, this was turning out to be a good day with the chance of getting better.

Buxoro Team

Lt. Robin & Ens. August

"Looks like were missing Alpha, Beta and a good portion of Gamma." Elijah ticked off the make and number of suits who were not accounted for as they the team continued to sit just inside of the Titans side of the debris field on self assigned picket duty for the duration of this little fiasco.
"Well, it looks like they're prepping to reorient for departure soon," said Tyler who was observing a few bow flares from the closest ship, "think we'll leave 'em?"
"I doubt it. They saw the flares, they'll be back soon."

-Team 2-
-Eddie-

Eckardy saw the flash of an impact on the enemy ship in the distance, but couldn't focus enough to tell how serious it was. Sohpie ripped off another pair before speaking. "Alright Eddie, I'd say its a safe bet to get out of here now," the words coming across suprisingly clear.

"Great..." Eddie said through gritted teeth, suddenly juking down and backwards to avoid another shot from the Gaza, and slammed on the thrusters, bring the Rick Dias to a quick stop. For the moment he was most steady, he quickly snapped off two shots from his beam rifle and followed that with a single shot from the pistol. "Let's go." He breathed and tipped his Rick Dias backward, stepping on the thrusters again, sending the Rick Dias rocketing away from the weird Axis suit, which Eddie kept an eye on through the bottom monitors.

Re: Episode 26 - Operation Maelstrom

- Stukov -

Stukov retracted the sea serpent just as a burst of beam pistol shots came in from Wales’s Rick Dias. Stukov let the impact of the electric weapon ramming home into its launcher put his Griffin into a quick roll, using a vernier kick to aid it; the shots burned by, allowed to come just as close as the New Yark Nemo attacks had come moments earlier.

The Russian, however, kept his attention on his original target, who had made the mistake of choosing to engage two enemies simultaneously. The divided attention on two separate targets reduced the weapon’s accuracy to the point that a light leftward feathering of the Griffin’s verniers more than sufficed. He retorted with two squat beams from the heavy rifle while still moving “downward” relative to Team 3.
