It certainly didn't occur to me.

That image, however, is now going to haunt me for the rest of my life. Thanks for that.

Wouldn't the whole split personality deal go better with Allejuah/Hallejuah?

It's not the whole split personality thing, it's the way Ribbons was gloating after he nabbed that GN Drive.

Now, what does that say about the Huckebein? Or are the creators of 00 fans of Super Robot Wars?

The Huckebein's Wings are up and that of Ribbons' Gundam are downwards. Ribbons' Gundam have 2 beam sabers stored at the backrack.

The picture is sorta a spoiler if you have not read the book or seen the movie.
Sure as heck am. Just look at this picture! If this is not an homage, I don't know what is!

I don't see the similarities at all. At least, not beyond the typical Gundam design features for the Ribbons Gundam. Sure, when you give it the same color it looks similar, but aside from that there's nothing remotely alike in shape or detail beyond the norm.

Never actually seen the film, or 2001 for that matter. But are this and this what everyone's referring to.
