I like the show, but it was overhyped, on just about every account--I actually didn't find it as soul-crushingly depressing as I was informed it would be; there were depressing moments, and lots of disturbing moments, oh yes, but I didn't find it all that depressing. And the last two episodes...well...

Really liked this chapter...but the quote (Monty Python, I think?) really bugged me. Just seemed unneeded, and didn't really fit the setting much. Besides, I already hear WAY too many Python quotes as is...

I agree--my ideals and beliefs almost certainly spill into my stories. I just try and make sure it doesn't interfere with the story, because that's what readers want in fiction--a STORY, not a PHILOSOPHY

The Dresden Files books are good. In my opinion, the first was actually weak compared to the sequels; it wasn't bad or anything, but once you get into the books that follow, everything gets better.
