Re: Official Gundam Games & Upcoming Releases Thread Mk IV
I'm down with that. Hopefully they'll include some kind of mode or end game content to give it more replay value. Other than that just keep expanding that roster.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
Eh, I'm fine with things going slow for a bit, so long as there is an eventual payoff. Now I'm about to say something, but before I do I want everyone to know that while I'm personally not a fan of body art (piercings, tattoos, etc.). I respect other peoples' choices to get and admire them however.....

Wow, I think, unless I'm missing something, this is the first time JYB has worked on Gundam.
Despite his voice being differant from Orga's JP VA I think he could actually be a pretty good match for the character.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
So next week it seems we will see a little bit of fighting on the ship, but it'll probably be mostly a breather episode. Yeah, they'll probably rewind a bit to show us what the boarding party was up to. The Hyakuri and Hyakuren looked super slick animated, the Hyakuri in particular really sold it's...

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion
Each weapon type is perfectly viable given enough upgrading, though individual weapons in may be somewhat lacking. The Zaku's MMP, for example, is a rather underwhelming machine gun.

I love behind the scenes stuff like that, it's always interesting to hear about how much thought goes into even the smallest details.

Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Watching Guide by ANN.
Yeah, this is just an editorial disguised as a helpful guide. As stated watching original Gundam is very useful but in my mind, MSG -> Zeta -> ZZ -> CCA -> Unicorn, is as close to a necessary sequence as you can get in Gundam. Unicorn especially is rife with references and call backs. 00 -> AotT is ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
I think it would be more apt to say that Gundam tends towards the "war is hell" message rather than being straight up anti war. To varying degrees depending on specific series of course.

Re: Modeling Tips/Techniques/Help links
Anybody have some advice on how to cut your kits? I got an old 1/144 Mercurius I'm looking to upgrade and customize, and it's going to involve a fair amount of cutting. I saw a tutorial where they used a pin vice to drill several holes and then a modeling knife to cut along the "dotted line&quo...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
By the way, is there any information as to when this project was greenlit for production? I'd like to second this. As much as I loved BF, and as interesting a Reco was, it very much felt like they were part of a desperate scramble to fill the void after AGE's failure. If nothing else the behind the...

I expected Ebikawa just based on the Barby's face and elbow joints.
At first I thought it was because of the teaser sight's perspective but that head creast is huuuge.

You got your Persona in my Digimon! No you got your Digimon in my Persona!
Color me intrigued, the last Digi game I played was some hack 'n' slash on the Gamecube.

Re: The Official G-Tekketsu Anime Thread Mk I
Fine I'll change my phrasing. My point is a setting that's new and refreshing can only be good. The writers are going to end giving us something of their skill level the way I see it. That either means a good/bad traditional or a good/bad refreshing story. I'm hoping for something that doesn't give...

Ummm, no.Amion wrote:That can only lead to good things, simply because of tradition break.
Novel, refreshing, or interesting sure; but different does not immediately equal good.
Remember, lets not get caught up in a destructive hype cycle here boys and girls.

Re: Bandai-Namco Pathetic E3
At least we're getting dark souls 3: the quest for more money, right guys? Well, given Gundam's cash cow nature in Japan I think I'll just call glass house and leave it at that. :P As long as they maintain a decent level of quality I'm not gonna complain. Otherwise I'm not surprised at the showing ...

Wow, either they're being total jerks or now we know what Rightstuff will be bring out after Turn A.
Oh, alternatively they could be doing what they did with Doan's Island and AGE; trying to sweep the less "successful" aspects of Gundam under the rug.

Re: The Official Gundam Build Fighters Try Anime Thread Mk-V
Despite its (many) failings I still managed to eke out some enjoyment from Try. I would probably place it around ZZ level. Both followed up an acclaimed series but feel short due to poor pacing, hit or miss humor, and a very bumpy start. I'm actually going against character and find myself formulati...
