Re: MG, HG or (dare I say it?) PG?

HG Exia is good enough: good build, detail and articulation. Very good compared to older HGs. Note that there are no clear beam blade parts included though. Just that a few parts soon will get loose, namely: right elbow due to heavy sword, joints of the beam dagger, and the mounting of Long & Sh...

Re: The Official 00 Mecha Thread Mk XVI

Refer to the latest 00[T] model kit photos uploaded by Ngeekhiong:

At the back of the MS, there's a big hollow 'socket' (previously seems like a condenser in the lineart). Possible add-on equipments?

Jaynz: good to hear that :). Hope you'll enjoy building HG Chaos. Me too enjoy these SEED HGs - now waiting for my CGUE DEEP ARMS :) If you're interested in other SEED models, I highly recommend these (if you still can get them): SEED - Aile Strike, Blitz, Calamity, Providence, Strike Rogue + IWSP (...

Re: Latest Gundam/Mecha Merchandise thread (2008-2010)

Jaynz, regarding the HG Red Frame: . But, unfortunately, this model has a fairly insane flaw in it. Every single piece on the red sprue has a slight 'overflow' or 'bit error' which means pieces will not line up unless you explicitly trim little squares off of every single piece. This was a first for...

Re: The Official 00 Mecha Thread Mk XVI

I would like to share this: From the Qan[T] picture in http://www.gundam00.net/ms/01.html , it is noted that the orb size and color is of the same size front & back . Currently we already know that [T] stands for 'Twin', and possibly new GN Drives. The twin drive may be positioned in the torso i...

Re: Gundam Seed vs. Astray reaction.

I don't like any of the mobile suits - generally bad/poor relocation of parts (shoulder armor relocated to ankle etc). No matter how many times I try to re-view and justify them, they doesn't make sense. Those design violates the basic physic/science/logic concept of SEED. The worst is Nix Providenc...

Re: Gundam Kyrios and the advancements in A-Law's MS tech?

They use this anti gravitational effect in a few ways, moving is one of them. But they can apply it to themselves too to reduce their weight if something is needed. One good example of usage is the Buster Sword, the Buster Sword uses the GNP's weight reducing porperty to make the sword light despite it...

Re: Mobile Suits against conventional war vehicles

moving like a human is not a good thing, bipedal locomotion is the most unstable form of movement period, hence why almost all land dwelling animals are quadrupeds with the bipeds (excluding humans) being birds. From a point of view, we may need to trade off stability for performance, or vice versa...

Re: Mobile Suits against conventional war vehicles

On Earth or any one gravity environment a mobile suit won't actually be that mobile. Bipedal locomotion is about 1/10 as efficient as other means so a mobile suit will actually be unable to move at more than a walking pace without a REALLY big engine. Far bigger than any MS in Gundam has according ...

Re: Mobile Suits against conventional war vehicles

Mobile suit biggest advantage = mobility. Armor may be sacrificed, but in battle, mobility is more important. Even the strongest armor can be breached, thus, armor should be left as final resort. MS pilot should use the mobility advantage whenever possible in battle and rely less on the armor. For g...

Sword Arm mode for Blue Frame Second Revise

The Sword Arm mode consist of beam blades? Is it practical to be positioned 'inward', thus effectively allow 'scissoring' swing?

(The manual of the MG model kit is in Japanese, which I do not understand)

Hand-plug for powering beam rifles & beam sabers

I'm still confuse about this (in SEED particularly, as well as most other Gundam series): Advancement in beam weaponry allow beam rifles and beam sabers to be powered directly via hand-plug on the MS hand (manipulator) - thus, no need to use rechargable energy pack, to be stored for recharging (sabe...

Re: Why is it called a beam rifle?

From my observation of various Gundam series, beam rifle is generally a hand-held beam gun, regardless being 'rifled' or not. Note that big & powerful type hand-held beam gun may be called bazooka (which can be mounted over shoulder for that 'bazooka' design) And those mounted over the mobile su...

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch & Rumors VIII

Regarding 00 Gundam PG: the rotating GN Drive Even though it is very nice and an advancement in PG tech, the GN Drive design has been compromised. You can compare it with the one in 00 Raiser 1/100 manual. The thruster is located within the first section of the cone, and not in the middle between th...

Re: The Official Gundam 00 Mecha Thread Mk XIV

Thanx for your answers/opinions. For Question 1: I think the GN exhaust/disperser is acceptable. Yeah, the legs contain parts which looks like Tau GN-drives... but as there is no official info so far, it is best to assume that they are GN-condensers. For Question 2: I can agree to it (extended parts...

Re: The Official Gundam 00 Mecha Thread Mk XIV

About Arche Gundam... can someone help to explain the following: 1. The front knee armor can extended to reveal some radiators/vents... what is the purpose? (I can't read japanese)... 2. There are two parts of the shield which can open/extend - what's the purpose? Dispersing of GN particles maybe? 3...
