Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV
Expecting nice story telling from glorified toy commercials? Also since the start we knew there'd be only 6 60 minutes OVAS to cover the 10 novel volumes. Just enjoy the mecha porn and be happy :D That's the thing. I thought it was the wrong choice. They should have replaced Torrington with Dakar :...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV
I dislike how they basically replaced Dakar with Torrington. The fight with Shambloo's impact was severely lessen dramatically when they fought in the "suburbs" of Torrington. They basically had to retcon a town beside the backwater military base just so Shambloo can trample through it. It...

Oh for the banshee http://gina.komica2.net/61/src/1321098475814.jpg You guys would love this. I do think the Banshee would get new toys though, once it is replaced by another pilot. It's funny that they miscoloured the forehead when it's in destroy mode in such an important shot.(The black "cr...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk IV
OST 2 was great. I like how the key sound tracks were more or less composed entirely for a particular scene and worked well dramatically. I think that's even more important than just a good soundtrack.

Some info on the custom Bayalant from gundam ace: -It's development did not involved building new technologies, but rather for training personnel with a customization project -The entire project is only restricted Federation personnel -The sensor is replaced with compound eyes, that's only requireme...

Thanks (probably) Katoki, why don't you just stick with spamming your own designs. I also don't get the point of customizing a custom p...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II
Considering that its sensor range, generator output, and thruster output are more or less on par with other MS of that era, I'm guessing the remnants upgraded it themselves over the years instead. Yea I noticed that. They probably upgraded the suit in the way the African Liberation Front did with t...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II
The problem I have this Efreet is how it just pretends that throwing knives are actually useful in combat, enough to make a completely new custom variant based around that idea. Not to mention the difficulty maintaining a MS like this. I am sure soon there will be yet another retcon story about how ...

Re: Brain Powerd, is it worth it ?
Eeh. It's been tossed about a lot, alongside a rumor that Evangelion was somehow similarly done in comparison to Ideon. Not a lot of evidence to back it up, but it makes some level of sense (although a stronger case can be made for EVA being a deconstruction of Ultraman, of which Hideki Anno is a b...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II
While having Marasais isn't too unexpected, as they were made by AE after all. It does seem a bit farfetched for them to all be carrying Fedayeen. They weren't exactly common weapons. I don't think they were even AE manufactured.

Re: Exploits of the Aqua GM?
So that leads back to the initial question; do we have any idea where the units were and what they were doing? I thank you for indulging my curiosity. In that Amphibious MS book, it says it's stationed mostly along the coast of Dakar, the mouth of the Amazon and any important strategic locations on...

Not quite. As a percentage of GDP its way down and continuing to go down sharply. We've had 'spikes' in raw dollars spent due to modernization, however. (I'm in Colorado Springs, and the majority of people I know are either in the military or military contractors. This board really isn't big enough...

Re: Gundam characters you're GLAD died
It's really hard to write someone THAT nihilistic without them turning into a bad Disney villian. It can be done, though, but the effect would be creepy as hell. A man who becomes THAT divorced from what he's doing loses his emotional bearings completely ... they turn to 'stone', not maniacal. Can ...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II
Is that some variation on the Nightingale? Also, quick question: Funnels, Fin Funnels and Bits can't function in atmosphere right? The reflector bits in this case use rotor blades to sustain themselves instead of rocket thrusters, so they can float around for a long time. They were shown in the 2nd...

Re: Burke's First Impressions of Gundam Seed!
On the complaint about stock footage, they just announced a HD remaster of the series, which supposedly have new animation and probably remove a lot of the flashbacks. You can always try that for a rewatch.

Re: Zeta Gundam: Why is it so great?
I am not sure why the rather self explanatory scene at the end of CCA would cause any confusion. Char specifically stated that the will of the people are converging and resonating on their psychoframes. That would probably include all humans, dead ( like Chan) or alive and possibly intelligent anima...

Re: Zeta Gundam: Why is it so great?
The UC series was already gradually developing the idea of a higher existence beyond time and space even in the original MSG with Lalah's "seeing through time" comment and the psychedelic 2001 space odyssey style trip for her and Amuro, so it's not really a big stretch in Zeta where the wi...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II
Probably that Unicorn Bande Dessinee manga. They already have a number of custom suits in there. The new Zeta manga hasnt gotten that far yet, and probably will not have many new custom units in there. It looks as if that custom suit was put together with Gabthely's claws and Pallas Athene's legs
