Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

Let's discuss where this rare alloy mentioned in the manual is found. Only a number of weapons have mentioned the rare alloy: Barbatos mace, Kimaris disks(some mixture), Grimgerde Swords, Hasmal wire blade, Barbatos new katana, Julian Swords, Kimaris Vidar katana, Bael Swords, rare alloy shells, KE...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

AmuroNT1 has the main points down, but here's the scans for those interested: 1 , 2 For the 'Gundam Frame Section', I feel that the word 'modified' is more suitable than 'repair' to relay the meaning of the Japanese text. Also, nice to know more about McGillis' goal. It's kind of odd that the manual...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

I relook at the Japanese text in the manual, and it is ambiguous on whether Kimaris Vidar's appearance is the original Kimaris look during the Calamity War. It simply says that Kimaris Vidar's appearance was confirmed to be used in the Calamity War 300 years ago.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

Kimaris Vidar manual scan: 1 , 2 Some minor corrections: -Under the drill lance profile, it might be better if the word 'given' was replaced by 'driven'. -For the drill knee, the last sentence should be 'Pierces the approaching enemy machine if it dodges the lance thrust'. Besides the dainsleifs in ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

The long time it takes for Gundam Vidar to be combat ready could be in part due to the Alaya-Vijnana Type E. Rustal did note in episode 34 about 'that system' that was giving Vidar problems.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

It appears that Bael having a soul may indeed be true hence why others were rejected. This adds yet another Evangelion-like element to piloting the IBO Gundams. With what Mcgillis said to Mika about how people in Gjallarhorn had forgotten that MS need the AV system to work, i can't help but wonder ...

1/100 Barbatos Lupus Rex manual: 1 , 2 Other than the heel bunker profile, the rest are all the same as the HG. Reginlaze Julia manual: 1 , 2 There is the usual odd wording, but other than that i don't think there is any major mistake. Its link to Graze Ein is a nice touch, but too bad no mention of...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

Also... about the Bael still having its cockpit... wouldn't the Flauros still have its original cockpit as it was found in the mines? Or was it damaged that it had to be replaced? It is possible that the internal of the Flauros' cockpit was missing when it was discovered similar to the Gundam Barba...

Re: Mobile Suit Cockpit hatches

00's GNZ-series have their cockpits mounted to external pods on the back, well above the center of gravity. See MythSearcher's comments on cockpits in the head for why this is probably a bad idea in terms of the G-Forces, though it makes quick ejection quite convenient. Although the cockpit is atta...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

I personally believe, that Mcgillis had and AV all along. The backplane of it looked different then what the kids from Tekkadan use. So i could imagine, that through some kind of better treatment, it would not stick out of your body, as it does with all of the boys from tekkadan. As far as we have ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II

That's not totally true, remember that the characteristic of the Rodi frame is its versatility and lack of weakness, and not the ability to carry heavy armor. It is just that the Rodi Frame MS we have seen in the series all tend to have heavy armor.

Barbatos Lupus Rex manual: 1 , 2 The MS profile text is exactly the same as that from the gunpla expo a while ago . This link also contains the missing english text. Other than some odd wording, the manual's english text is mostly fine, with the only major mistake being the last line of the Rex Nail...

Update for Reginlaze Julia: The tip of its Julian Swords confirmed to be made of the same rare metal as Grimgerde's Valkyrja Sword. The same metal is also used within the Julian Swords' wire, and the sword's tricky trajectory is via electrical signal. Source: japanese wiki and Kanetake Ebikawa's twi...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

Hmm... Wasn't the Grimgardes just one of the Valkyria Units? Yes. So, overall, only a small number of Valkyrja Frame using machines were produced, with an even smaller number of those machines being Grimgerde. Oh yeah, as for the number of Valkyrja Frame using machines, according to this picture po...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

If you look closely when the Gusion Full City detaches from the booster, you can see the Bayonet rifle as one of the weapons ejected from the booster aside from the new long rifle. It was below the new rifle in the booster mode. I think you need to check the scene in question again, the weapon that...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

Oh, I get it now.... there were multiple Valkyrias but different series each, like there were multiple Grimgardes, at which the Reincar was a modified one made to look like the Helmwige. But here is what I'm a bit confused with... if all the Valkyrias used the same frame... how could the Grimgarde'...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk

Hmm... so then the Helmwige Reincar is actually another Valkyria suit like the Grimgarde but was modified to look another suit called the Helmwige? That is a interesting way to disguise a unit... More like the Grimgerde was converted into a sister Valkyrja Frame MS known as Helmwige, with the word ...
