Re: Buddy Complex - New Sunrise Mecha Show

It tends to be a bit worse with split-cour shows though, examples being Code Geass and Gundam 00. Code Geass was fine for a while, and then.......that ending. I won't say it was bad (I didn't hate it at all), but it's fairly obvious that it was almost completely rewritten, between the spoilers prin...

Re: Code Geass: Akito the Exiled

The ANN article didn't make this too clear, but it looks like they're working on Akito 3 and 4 at the same time. Here's a translation of the official announcement: To all our fans Thank you for your continued support of Akito the Exiled. We’re truly grateful. There may be people who will say, “This ...

Re: NEW Macross TV series!!!

More Macross is always good news, even though the utter lack of details keeps my reaction a little restrained. We don't even know if it's coming this year or the next, for example.

Re: Code Geass: Akito the Exiled

And there it is. I was working under the assumption it would take them roughly another year, give or take a couple of months, to release Akito 3 and that the Spring 2014 bit at the end of the preview was just there for formal contractual reasons and/or due to wishful thinking on their part. That's w...

Re: The Official Gundam Reconguista Anime Thread Mk I

As someone who liked Eureka 7, Overman King Gainer and especially Turn A Gundam, I must say that the look and feel of Reconquista seems perfectly alright by me. If Tomino is going to work on something Gundam-related again, it's always better to see him continue to follow this slightly more unorthodo...

Re: The Official Gundam The Origin Anime Thread Mk I

Admittedly, I would have been personally satisfied with a full adaptation of The Origin, but since I'm already collecting the ongoing manga released by Vertical this is also entirely acceptable. It's not a big secret that the flashback portions of the manga apparently have most of the actually new c...

Re: Space Dandy

I get the feeling they will put in a little bit of actual plot before the show is over, but it's probably just going to be an explanation for how the series switches universes or whatever between episodes. It's not going to radically alter the status quo, since having an overarching narrative is mea...

Re: Ep. 139 - Julius F'n Kingsley!

Might as well point out that Leila actually does seem to grudgingly tolerate having a terrible adopted brother. If they weren't technically related, she'd have dealt with him already. I get the impression she's surprised at how Akito and his own full sibling are so ready and willing to kill each oth...

Re: Ep. 139 - Julius F'n Kingsley!

Well, I guess this answers one question that had been slightly worrying me this past week. Now, you guys have made a number of good points. I'm more on the positive side of this one, to be honest, but I think your collective views are fair enough. It's absolutely true that Code Geass: Akito the Exil...

Re: Space Dandy

Episode 7 was quite entertaining and fun to watch, even though I've never been a huge fan of the whole racing genre, whether space-related or otherwise. But here the focus was more on the action and humor than on the race itself, other than as a framework, so everything came together in a nice packa...

Re: Aldnoah.Zero

Technically speaking Urobuchi might not have written every episode of Gargantia, but he was still involved in conceptualizing the idea behind the series (along with the director, Kazuya Murata) and presumably also oversaw the work of the other writers to some extent. Either way, I liked the show wel...

Re: Gudam Unicorn, Vol3 (DVD)-help identifying legit vs. boo

The official release does have a static main menu, but the image in mine is just the Banshee.

Other things you could try to check:

There should be both 2 channel and 5.1 versions of the English and Japanese audio (4 tracks).

The official version also has an option for Spanish subtitles.
