Re: Interviewing Shinichiro Watanabe- Any questions?

My question:

How was the experience of getting to work with a lot of other guest creators and notable directors (people like Goro Taniguchi, Fumihiko Takayama, Katsuhiro Otomo, etc) on Space Dandy? Did they have a lot of freedom for their episodes and other forms of contributions?

67-Year-Old Man Makes 2-Meter Gundam Hyaku Shiki For His Grandkids If you happen to pass through Kakogawa, Hyōgo Prefecture the next time you're in Japan, you may find yourself staring at a 2-meter tall Gundam Hyaku Shiki, decorated in glossy paint and towering over the average human. Re: Sunrise partnering with Right Stuf to release Gundam aga

It should be pointed out that RightStuf actually had a distribution deal for the DVD release of Unicorn in particular, picking up where Bandai Entertainment left off, and not for the BD version. The BD release was being sold as more of an import from the beginning and wasn't technically part of thei...

Re: Fast paced anime like Aldnoah, Valvrave and Code Geass

I can't share your attitude towards Gargantia, unfortunately, but to give you a suggestion that's different at first glance but still close to what you're asking for...check out GunxSword. Granted, it's episodic at the start. But the pace of each individual episode isn't usually too slow and somethi...

Re: Code Geass Akito OVA 3/4 in 2015

Well, if you took bits and pieces from the existing official guides or art/fan books for Code Geass you'd get something similar on a smaller scale.

Needless to say, the property is still relatively young compared to Macross or Gundam though.

Re: Buddy Complex

Yes, there's no second season. Only a "final chapter" special split in two. That's unfortunate. I've always liked the use of time travel in fiction, even if it does tend to get messy. They probably thought of doing more, but the sales just weren't there to support it. It does seem like the...

Re: Code Geass Akito OVA 3/4 in 2015

As far as I'm aware of things, there's been no official use of the term "R1" to date. I've never particularly liked seeing the first series called that either. For that matter, the occasional usage of "R3" for Akito the Exiled in some fan circles also kind of bugs me. I don't hav...

Re: Aldnoah Zero Thread

It seems Urobuchi himself has been asked about that recently, and he answered... Apparently there was a live-streamed Gargantia event on Nicovideo today, and twitter posts quote Urobuchi Gen as saying: "Aldnoah Zero's ending isn't my fault!" "In my original outline, Inaho and the prin...

I guess that makes at least two of us who are still interested in this, balofo. Thanks for the link to the images. Speculating a little here, I wonder if the setup for the battle is going to be Suzaku and the Lancelot ambushing everyone while they're relaxing somewhere, which might help to hu...

I guess this finally answers the question for Soul Bro and those wondering about the issue. Why Bandai Namco Isn’t Localizing Gundam Vs. VR7: Interesting observations, but I fear several of the parallels aren't that strong right now. Some are easy to question. For one thing, Chirico was definitely stoic, indeed, but even he showed more visible emotion than Inaho. Their skill sets are also very different, since Chirico was already a t...

I think it's a little too early to take what Sauzbaam said purely at face value.

Even if he's not outright lying, the guy might be saying half-truths just to get Slaine on his side.

Re: Cross Ange- New Sunrise x Fukuda mecha show

Fukuda himself is working on Cross Ange. He has the always rather nebulous title of "Creative Producer" for the show, so I imagine he's already given his blessing to all that transparent SEED influence, to say the least. As for the series itself...right now, I'm largely disinterested and w...

Re: Beltorchika's Children manga to run on Gundam Ace

It seems like the manga will spend time fleshing out Quess' character. That's definitely appreciated. That's not a bad idea, to say the least. I've never read the original Beltorchika's Children, but adding build-up to her eventual fate, especially this particular variation of it as opposed to what...

Re: Rape scene in 08th MS Team

It's worth noting this novel is written by the man who handled a lot of the writing on Valvrave the Liberator (yes, including THAT part) and Code Geass R2. So I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it was done for shock value. I would prefer to be a little more cautious about this. True, he was s...
