I guess so. The problem is certain people are demanding a female lead in Gundam, and yet Gundam is for boys and boys at heart. It would be interesting if she's an equal co-pilot to the male protagonist ala Pacific Rim.

I also noticed that the palms are pointy in the retouched picture. Yes, we have Gundams with pointy hands, but they are the province of the bad guys. Now, the lead Gundam get some nice claws.

From the look of the pic, the Gundam's head looks blue-grey-ish rather than the standard white the usual protagonist Gundam. Nice break with tradition, though.

I think this Gundam would be like Escaflowne and Valvrave in that they may require the pilot's blood to operate the mech.
