Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Question: How old are the characters in this series? I know there are a few different classes within Tekkadan. One of the characters essentially said he was 13 in the latest episode to air on Toonami, if I heard right. How old are Orga and Biscuit?

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

To answer the question: I started with the Japanese, but am now watching the English dub. In the three episodes I watched in Japanese, Mika sounded distant and stoic, as I recall. In the English dub, there's a bit of a flippant, apathetic vibe, but he does sound more human to me. Yet when I say apat...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Actually LightningCount, I might be some of the people who might disagree so please don't hate me :( for Mikazuki at first he might seem uncaring ( like Heero or Satsuna ) but he actually dose care about his friends. I would never hate anyone for an opinion, so no worries! I actually noted your poi...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Thanks for the thoughts and info, everyone. It really will depend on how the characters affect me going forward, I suppose. While I generally like a balance and rhythm between action and character development, I am fine with action used as more of a punctuation and character development being the fo...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

I've been keeping up with the Toonami broadcast after leaving the original stream release with Episode 3. So, now I've seen Episodes 4 through 8. My opinion has improved a little bit, but on the whole, I'm still left with a "solid-not-spectacular" kind of feeling so far. Episode 4 was the ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

I've written enough in my previous post on the minutiae. But as noted, Amion, there is a bit of a difference between how SEED, 08th Team, etc's promos ran, and how Wing and IBO ran. To finish, since it was brought back up, Dustman, I think you're right that one's subjective experience with Wing affe...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Despite the too-broad line about "the galaxy is troubled," I thought the Toonami promo for Wing was fairly accurate in terms of the pacing of the actual show. [/size] I'm sorry, I don't think I'm wrong about this. While I do think that the promo captures the bombast of the Ikeda-directed ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Didn't mean to sound like I was writing obituaries for IBO. Despite the too-broad line about "the galaxy is troubled," I thought the Toonami promo for Wing was fairly accurate in terms of the pacing of the actual show. From what I've heard, I'm not sure there will be the same amount of sla...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Hmmm... I wonder if thanks to this reestablished relationship between Toonami and Bandai if Toonami may start showing other Bandai shows. If that happens I may just get back into watching TV again for that would be pretty sweet. Well, I think it's just "Sunrise" they reestablished a worki...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk

Mixed feelings about that trailer there. One the one hand, I like that they're trying to go "big" with this. I have great respect for Toonami. On the other hand, I really feel like that trailer "shoehorned" IBO and Wing into the same boot, and it didn't fully work because the two...

Re: Right Stuf announces [Gundam Release Updates 2016]

Quick updates through Episode 17 of Gundam X. Everyone, feel free to step in with clarifications. Just reporting in with things I'm noticing: *San Lucas in Episode 16 is listed as San Luis in the subtitles. I can hear San Lucas on screen, so I assume this is an error, but I don't have access to the ...

Re: Right Stuf announces [Gundam Release Updates 2016]

Just to mildly interject, I checked the Japanese Gundam X website and it lists Witz's brother's name as バステル (Bastel). Well, that settles that. Thanks. Also, I looked up the fansub version of Episode 8; they render Witz's line as "Your big brother was able to protect your treasure". I bla...

Re: Right Stuf announces [Gundam Release Updates 2016]

Deacon, thanks for the help and clearing things up some. If his brother were still alive, wouldn't he be older than him? I double-checked this, and Bastel, the one that died two years ago of Colony Sickness, was called by Witz "My youngest brother." And Toniya even says "Your youngest...

Re: Right Stuf announces [Gundam Release Updates 2016]

At least on the episode titles, they have often made some notable changes on those rather than using the most accurate translation. In Zeta I recall "To the Earth Sphere" becoming simply "To Earth", "Day of the Colony Drop" becoming "Colony Drop". MS Gundam h...

Kuromukuro - New Mecha Series

Has anyone else seen this new mecha series advertised yet? It's called Kuromukuro . Pony Canyon is involved, and it's a 15th anniversary project of the anime studio P.A. Works. It looks like they're trying to make it stand out. They previously said they would think about a localization/overseas stra...
