Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Mecha Thread Mk I
Seing that Jiyan Altron consists of parts that resemble a wolf, tiger, and dragon, I think I have an idea of what its possible upgrade could be. So far I believe that if it ever gets an upgrade that consists of extra parts that resemble a hawk or a similar bird of prey, we will be getting a nice Br...

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Mecha Thread Mk I
I don't actually care about the presence of the Core Fighter per se. What bothers me is this: I know it's supposed to be a testbed and all, but what nitwit thought it was a good idea to build it with no armor whatsoever on its upper limbs and no armored cockpit hatch ? I mean you could put some tur...

Re: Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory
I have watched the second episode, with the third soon to follow, and so far the series has not disappointed me in the least. The threat from Amalgam gets real, and Kaname can no longer hide from the grim reality of her life that she has been suppressing. It's not fair, but she has known that from t...

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Anime Thread Mk I
"Gundam Narrative", now there's an unambiguous title! :D Makes me want to dust of my Zeon political soapbox again and rant about the diktat of Spacenoid independence an the reactionary counter-revolutionary maneuvering of the EUG. Why yes, let us have a story about the Federation controlli...

Re: New Zoids Wild Series for Summer 2018
I see the retro tide is still rolling in here. I suppose there is still a little hope left for toy-based mecha anime. I never really followed the Zoids shows before, but I know it has a following in Japan that goes back to the Eighties, and the toys all looked cool. Hopefully the Zoids fans here wil...

Re: Japanese Engineer builds his own Mobile Suit
Sakakibara Kikai specializes in animal excrement processing machines for dairy farming and other types of farm machinery, but started developing anime-inspired robots in 2005, as a way to improve its employees’ skills and also promote its brand. "when you see our giant robots, think 'large qua...

Japanese Engineer builds his own Mobile Suit
This man is my new hero. It is of course a monoeye MS, as is proper!

Re: Jushinki Pandora: Last Hope
It's 12 episodes unless I hear different, Henyo. Promo material for this anime is sparse, and their website was down the other day. I will have to check back and see if it is up again. EDIT: My Anime List and ANN have this info. https://myanimelist.net/anime/33531/Juushinki_Pandora/characters https:...

Jushinki Pandora: Last Hope
Like I said in the other topic thread, I don't know enough yet to have something good to say. But hey, we have treaded destroid-types, transformers, directional thruster flying form, huge-ass motorcycle form, and a car form! Plus there is a special power-up, and all the critters seem to double as me...

Re: Jushinki Pandora: Last Hope
Oh yeah, the shipping salt for Darling in the Franxx can fill a lake in Utah. It's cute how the shippers think the anime can have a happy ending; it's clear all the adorable little pilots are expendable killer lab rats. But I digress.... Leon Lau makes for an interesting hero, not the usual setup fo...

Jushinki Pandora: Last Hope
A new anime by Kawamori Shoji snuck onto the spring lineup. It wasn't streamed so a lot of people didn't pick it up at first. (I do suspect the show was something he threw together with some people and put out there without a lot of fanfare.) A friend of mine found some fansubs and we watched the fi...

Re: Legend of the Galactic Heroes to get a new anime.
The second part of Astarte played out well. The debut of Yang Wen-Li was excellent, and nicely depicted why he will be Reinhard's foil through the epic story. And everything looked great, again. This looks like a keeper for my watch schedule this season.

Re: Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory
First episode is out, and the story is off and running! I agree that XEBEC is doing a great job with the animation. Everyone is back, Leonard gives a polite warning, and then it gets real. I am very hyped for how this series is going to proceed! zetatype: I didn't get very far into this arc of the o...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I
The battle scene seem to get better with each episode. And I did chuckle a little. All hail Obari for that. Episode 3 was just plain awesome during the fight scenes. I rewatched the last fight scene at least 4~5 times I think. Yes, the fight scenes are awesome! They seem organic, spontaneous, and t...

Re: Gundam sellers on blu-ray
Amazon is the way to go in terms of easy general availability. Be careful of re-sellers jacking up prices though. I know a couple of anime & J-drama DVDs from Malaysia who do official international versions at an acceptable price for no-frills presentation. They are on eBay, and I have had no pr...

Re: Haman's Obsession and Axis/Neo Zeon's Newtype Drought
On the hand, Axis did likely already had the resources to mass produce newtype MS like the Qubeley, but likely lacked the newtype pilots for them. In such case, returning to the Earth Sphere might have been a move intended to have not only Char rejoin her forces, but also to find more newtypes for ...

Re: Why the Gouf was chosen for a flying model?
It makes sense that the Gouf was chosen for the flight mode project. Mainly because the Gouf was already on hand and deployed to Earth. It had a higher baseline performance than the Zaku II, and it was generally reserved for capable pilots who would be able to adjust to the new operational mode. Sur...

Iris Scope: Glad you liked 008th Platoon , which really restored UC as an effective anime setting. Great MS action, great characters, a great encapsulization of the Original Gundam story. The #12 episode is admittedly a slow coasting to a halt after the roller-coaster ride of episodes 10-11. I appr...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I
Episode 2 really turned out well, expanding on the game universe rather nicely. Ruki & Yukki get to see and have real combat, even though they were not on a combat quest. Momoka gets into the game, foreshadowing her joining the future "force". Sarah is cutely mysterious, which is prett...

Re: Legend of the Galactic Heroes to get a new anime.
And it has begun! your impressions comrades? i'm fine with what i've seen. and so is Dearest Mother. the CG made it easier for her to see the space battles. one thing i'm wondering is the Iserlohn Fortress. which version will they use for this retelling. As of episode 1, it was good. I am not 100% ...
