Re: Operation Stardust
I really don't want to have to pull a three ships alliance here and insert myself into all the flaming, but I feel like I have to. Everyone's entitled to their opinion--just let it go. And anyway, this is not a discussion of Zeon's ideals or the rights of space colonists, or whether Zeon is full of ...

Re: Gundamn! Mailbag Drop Box
Alright gentlemen, So I've been listening to some of your earlier episodes just for kicks, and there was some mention of a SoulBro's woman ! He labels Klan Klan from Frontier and of course Emma in this way, so I will ask SoulBro--what are the criteria for your woman and can you give us some examples...

Re: 1/144 Gerbera Tetra 0083 kit
Awesome job man!
I'm still going to wait on that HGUC...it seems that Bandai's been on a bit of a 0083 kick recently, so it may come sooner than I think. But then again, perhaps not.
It's just one of those holy grails of hopers and dreamers.

Re: Operation Stardust
I think the method behind the madness was to destroy all the adult movie studios in North America so that one Mr. Bernard Moncha, with his beautiful porn 'stache, would be out of a job and have to join the Titans. But in all seriousness, it seems to me that Jaburo was never the target--why would Ga...

Re: Any NHL fans on here? Thoughts on the 2011 Playoffs?
I guess there won't be any repeats of last year's parade...that was such a great morale booster when all I have to look forward to are the Bears and the Cubs (because there really is only one baseball team in Chicago)
Poor Blackhawks...

Northwestern University Class of 2015
Just a quick question:
So I just confirmed my enrollment to Northwestern University, Medill School of Journalism for the Class of 2015 and I was wondering if anyone on the boards will be going there too this year, is there already, or went there in the past.
Thanks!

Re: Gundam is not really full of shades of gray.
Seed and Seed destiny was a really gray one to me too. I never new whether to root for orb, zaft, or the federation. The way I determined was "oo pretty pink haired girl like them ok. they the good guys" Umm...Earth Alliance anyone? And you're totally right about the grey being for more p...

Re: Gundam is not really full of shades of gray.
This is a cool thought--and very true. I think this whole notion of greyness comes from a few characters though. As you said, Garma and Ramba Ral were not totally evil, nor was Char, but the Zeon were made up of millions of individuals who were. Since were are exposed to these few grey area individu...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk III
I keep repeatedly watching both of the first volumes over and over... I really don't know what it is about Unicorn, but there's something really unique and vibrant about it compared to all of the others shows I've been watching. I just can't get enough of the sequence with Marida and Banagher towar...

Re: A curious question on the GP01
Well, the obvious answer is so that Kou could get something of a "mid-season upgrade" and Bandai could sell more kits...but I digress... I think the main point we have to consider with the RX-78's core fighter is the fact that it was compatible with ALL of the Operation V mobile suits; the...

Hey guys!
Which do you think is more important in a video game, story or gameplay? In essence, which contributes more to your overall enjoyment in a gaming experience?

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk I
I don't know if someone else noticed it, but in the second Unicorn OVA the Nahel Argama is labeled SCVA-76 (as can be seen written on the screens in its bridge), so, number-wise, this ship is the direct successor of the Albion :) Well, that would make sense, seeing as how the Argama was an AEUG shi...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk I
Okay then...here's a question: can anyone identify the gun that Daguza uses in episode 2? Is it based off anything we have today, or was it created specifically for Unicorn? Is there anything remotely similar?

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk I
Well, referring to what Arvis said, I am almost positive that the prevalence of that digital paper in the Zeta movies is due to the leaps and bounds of animation technology. But real world explanation aside...I don't know. But it certainly has come quite a way from Amuro's massive paper manual that ...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk III
Absolutely--something that really struck me while watching this is how much it refers to the original series and not Zeta, ZZ, or CCA. The only real mention of anything outside MSG came from someone remarking that Char's disappeared after the second Neo Zeon War... I mean, certainly we have overt re...

Re: On Old Technology Circumventing New Technology
Well, certainly we have to mention the sword duel between Char and Amuro at the end of MSG, and (to a lesser extent) the one at the end of Turn A. As for modern examples, I guess one would be the U.S. Marines requesting Colt to manufacture new 1911's specifically for them, as opposed to the Berettas...

Re: Listener Participation for Ep. 066!
Really how pervasive is Gundam in Japan? It seems to me that its popularity over there may be skewed to us westerners; is there really a gundam model shop on ever street corner? Are those streets paved with Gundanium alloy?

Considering all the fantastic costumes/uniforms for mecha characters out there, if there were to ever be a uniform made specifically for SoulBro's men, what do you think it would consist of?

Re: Gundamn! Mailbag Drop Box
I know you guys have mentioned it on occasion, but what are your thoughts on the pretty good Eureka seveN TV show and the not so pretty good movie? As the show that got me really into anime, I would really like to know your feelings about it.
