I can't think of many restaurant themed music videos, but if I could, this would be at the top of the list. :P

Looks like this episode will be the last deep breath before the plunge. Awesome. Ranka is adorable, there, I said it. And the new SMS aircraft carrier is damn smexy. As for Mikhail dying. I was skeptical at first considering he's a Max analog... but then it hit me. In the first episode, Mikhail is t...

This applies more to Macross II, not nessesarily Frontier. I don't think they're just relying on singing anymore. We haven't seen any sound weapons in Frontier. I mean, they find a new unknown alien race (Vajra), shouldn't their first thought be "Let's sing to it! That's worked on all the othe...

"Actually, I wonder if the sad state of the UNS/NUNS could be tied to the Protodeviln War in Macross 7. That show did a good job making the UN Spacy military seem completely incompetent and utterly helpless, dependent upon a rock band to defeat the enemy." I like to think of it as the same...

"I don't wish to delve into my own personal politics, but I'm not the only person in the world who may have a sense that mercenaries are not always "heroes for hire," and that the widespread usage of these groups is an interesting and perhaps problematic development in modern warfare....

"I meant that more on a personal level, the juxtaposition of the idea of the noble mercenary versus what one reads about companies like Blackwater and Halliburton is thought-provoking." So now we're judging all mercenaries in a group or company as bad because some are? It sounds like the s...

Ironic too since the planes the VF-171s are based on are now obsolete themselves.

"I don't think the VF-171 mechs themselves are the problem at all. Just look at the way the VF-171 pilots act in episode 1, they're all running around like panicked chickens to the slaughter."

It's the man, not the machine.

Getting caught up on this series, and wow, color me impressed. One of the main things I like about this show is its Macross 'feel'. You can see lots of surface similarities between these characters and the original ones, but they all have sufficiently different personalities to make it work. This ti...

Two things made me aware of Tengen Toppa:

The main guy's sunglasses photoshopped over nearly ever anime character in existence.

The final duel between the two galaxy sized mecha.

Yeah, interesting show. I'll check it out sometime.

Hellsing OVA 4,

Not that much mecha, but how can you beat an SR-71 ramming into a Nazi aircraft carrier at mach 3? 8)

Ack, okay, one more question It seems there are two versions of Macross Plus available on Amazon: Macross Plus - The Collection, and Macross Plus - Movie Edition. Is The Collection the original 4-part OVA? Because that's what I want get. I think it's pretty much criminal the Movie Edition cut the in...

Macross n00b, lend me your wisdom!

Hey folks! First post here, Little background. I've been a pretty big jet fighter/action fan my whole life. My favs were the first two Iron Eagles, Top Gun and Fire Fox. It's only recently I've remembered how good some of the anime shows are for great aerial and ground action. Lucky me! I just finis...
