Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I

It's the 10th anniversary of Double-O, so that is why there is so much love for their designs in GBD. Now, if we could get the 30th anniversary recognition for Gundam Sentinel as well, that would be great!

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Mecha Thread Mk I

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand the after-episode commercial spoils all of the upgrades that the 00Diver is going to get. Thanks for keeping the surprise, Bandai..... Not too much of a surprise, though. OO Diver was so basic we knew they would have many upgrade parts, and probably at least 2 before episode 10. Fan...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I

Episode 1 started things off in a great way. GBD goes full immersion and does it 100% safer than a certain other online game anime. And being a super-MMORPG means getting to tournaments will be a whole lot easier. Yeah, the Eternally Thirty-Five Ranba Ral will not have to bring the jeep any more. (C...

This has been an interesting game report. You are doing a great job of relating to your inner magical girl, and I mean that in the best possible way.

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Mecha Thread Mk I

HGBD Momo Kapool: It's a kawai Kapool, cheerfully working the Bearguy angle into a penguin-theme for all it's worth. You cannot resist the kawai mode! :D Fun note, people in certain SRW community think that its colors and eyes is possibly reference to Final Fantasy mage. I do see the resemblance, a...

Re: Non-Combining Mecha Teams

Only the Americans seem to keep the flame for combiners right now, as per Voltron: Defender of the Universe and those of us who kept our combining Transformer toys. (You know who you are, and you know you still love them.) If one must re-do old school combiner anime, one must go all the way & do...

Re: Mobile Suit Moon Gundam Manga

mine would be the moon moon thing from ZZ. maybe it will feature a Tuxedo Kamen like character. and he'll be the resident char clone. :D I would totally watch this anime. Especially since I liked the magical girl manga of times gone by. The actual manga here might be interesting, but the MS choices...

Re: Why do people overlook the commanding officer?

I think Iron Blooded Orphans is the best anime in recent years that really shows the working relationship between commander, officer, and pilot for both hero/protagonist and antagonist factions. That being said, the more serious, or at least more earnest mecha anime always have the commanding office...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Mecha Thread Mk I

There's G-Arms anime? I known that Command Gundam appear in SD Gundam Scramble short and later GBF, but I don't think the series itself or the Red Beret Gundam ever get animated. No, the whole paint job, including the infamous Red Shoulder, is a VOTOMS reference. And the name, red head, remote robo...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Mecha Thread Mk I

HGBD Gundam Age II Magnum: Definitely an ace commander's Gundam. Cool dark-and-white color scheme too. HGBD Gundam 00 Diver: Yeah yeah, the Gundam hero's MS is a melee monster, we get it. However, having decided that, it plays to its strengths as fast & hard hitting. The model kit is minimal, s...

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I

I just watched the prologue episode on my lunch break. It was good fun in great BF style. Long time members will know which team I favored! :D The two young heroes are only present as spectators though but I didn't mind, as this 'verse spreads its honors around rather evenly.

Re: The Official Gundam Build Divers Anime Thread Mk I

A new Build Fighters anime is always welcome. After seeing the model kits at Gundam Planet I am enthused for this series. The Grimoire Red Beret and the Momo Kapool look like definite favorites for me! :D But the two main Gundams look attractive and the Seravee Scheherezade looks great! Here is Gund...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

To think that I, who saw the first Star Wars before it was a roman numeral, should have lived to see a follow-on movie greeted with widespread apathy, let alone overt hostility, is a marvel and a thing of grief to me. And I really didn't think it was a bad or mediocre film. It was excellently made, ...

Re: Harmony Gold vs Tatsunoko

I am indebted to Seto Kaiba for the behind-the-scenes financial shell game that has shorted HG for real productive work. The Agrama family are a real piece of work. I suppose having a "Hollywood company" is a good tax dodge, but it sure has screwed all of us for nigh on 30 years. That part...

Re: Harmony Gold vs Tatsunoko

When Harmony Gold's license runs out in a couple of years and it does NOT get renewed I gonna have a party with beer and strippers. I have had the hate-on for their willful folly ever since 199X. One of the reasons I got into watching the stuff traded from Japanese raw tape was so I would never have...

Re: The Last Jedi

I am still hyped about this movie, if only to see where it is going in explaining the new Not-A-Jedi order that will surely be created. Luke is now the sensei in Obi-Wan Kenobi's previous role. How and what can he pass on to rey to let her continue her balance. Or maybe, the move to a balance of the...

Re: Why do people overlook the commanding officer?

Well, as someone in Martian Successor Nadesico tells its titular cruiser's bubbly-fluffy captain to her face, in modern space warfare a captain isn't really needed anymore. The ships are heavily automated and the crew members know how to use their systems without a lot of direction. So the captain i...

Re: Made in Abyss

I watched this one, and it was one of the more original anime series of 2017. The character design seemed so out of step with the story, but I got used to it and the design made sense as a counter-image of the exploring children versus their dangerous surroundings inside the Abyss. As a D&D-styl...
