Re: Gundam SEED HD Remaster airs Winter 2011
I actually tuned in to this episode just because of the Perfect Strike thing. It does strike me (haha) as quite unnecessary, but if they wanna give Mu and Cagalli a bit of their own identity, I'm not going to complain about that. Adding Shinn's family in was basically fanservice, but it vaguely work...

Re: Nunally in Wonderland
Well I don't know who he is either so you might as well tell me. Osamu Tezuka is often called "the Godfather of Anime," for essentially creating anime's distinctive style with his works such as Astro Boy and Kimba. He also did Black Jack and Phoenix. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osamu_Tez...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Thread Mk V
So I am wondering If Asemu really did become a pilot for visidian and did not die or something what do you all think he is like I can't imagine super pirate Asemu being quite the same as super pilot Asemu Super Pirate Asemu always wears a bandana and tricorne hat on his head (or the outside of his ...

Wow. I actually genuinely like that ending theme. The op… I think I'm warming up to it. I'll have to listen a few more times to make up my mind on it. Not bad, though.

Oh my god. Flit looks even cooler than before. He is rocking the goggles and old-timey pilot's jacket.

Damn, that's quite cool, actually. I mean, it's probably my 00 fanboyness shining through, but I love the look. Shame it's not real, I'd buy THAT Master Grade in five seconds. Nice job on that for whoever drew it.

Re: A rarely seen G Gundam acronym
The G Gundam acronym kind of makes sense (the second one, not the "original" one), because these are custom built machines for a specific purpose: it makes a certain amount of sense that they'd have a name that defined them and their role to a certain degree. The Gundam Wing one is just… y...

Re: Bleach is offically ending!
Wait, Bleach is still going on? Admittedly, that's not my reaction to this news, that was my reaction to learning about the Fullbring arc and all of the insanity that had happened between that and when I last followed Bleach, which was the anime filler arc with the puppets and dolls and all that stu...

Re: Star Trek Undiscovered Country
The character in question is actually an ancestor of Worf's, like his grandfather or something. And as demonstrated by his attempt to save Kirk and McCoy, getting their butts kicked apparently runs in their family.
Edit: Found it.

Re: Random Mecha/Anime Image Thread, 9th Issue
WTF where is this from????? The last few episodes of G-Gundam, if I don't remember wrongly. Bingo. The nations of Earth were basically getting every single available mobile suit into space. The Wing Gundam actually makes its first onscreen appearance in the last few episodes of G, F91 and Zeta show...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Mecha Thread Mk I
That's interesting. I honestly thought that the Age-1 would be rebuilt into the Age-2. That possibly still be the case although Homeless said that the wording of the manual/Gundam.info page suggests that it's just bring built off it's data as a new suit. Because there's going to be a one year times...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Mecha Thread Mk I
Does the manual mention whether its upgraded from the AGE-1 or is a whole new suit? I was just about to ask the same question. I got this feeling that the climax ending battle will have all three AGE mobile suits gather up fighting the "final boss", but if the AGE-2 is an upgrade to the e...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk III
well, watching Desil get his ass handed to him in several finely-sliced pieces was remarkably entertaining! poor fool, didn't realize that killing the Gundam boy's girlfriend gives him 200%+ on all stats It also grants a one-time "Plot Armor Negation" bonus to all weapons, to be activated...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk III
... 2 weeks to fabricate and entire ship like that? Get real. You know, I had just assumed that the Assault Landing transformation was always part of the design and the only thing they added was "the big gun". Though 2 weeks for the gun alone is pushing it. Ridiculous circumstances not wi...

Re: Why the hate for SD?
Chalk me up for the group who actually kinda liked SDGF. Yeah, it was silly and kiddy and the characters were kind of annoying and all of those things, but it could get surprisingly deep for its intended audience, and I loved all of the little shout outs and references to past Gundam shows (and yes,...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk II
From the Unicorn Mode manual: Armed Armor VN: It is externally wrapped in beam coating and holds the same anti-beam ability as ordinary shields. Using the strength of the psychoframe, it also functions as a mass based weapon. Funny thing is, this term is a proper noun in the Nanoha series. Maybe Gu...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Mecha Thread Mk I
Strange decision to reveal the model numbers so early, especially considering they made an effort to conceal them all this time, even from the Gafran and Zedas HG boxes. Unless this turns out to be some lesser identification number that the Federation uses to refer to them that only sourcebooks are...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Mecha Thread Mk I
Not really. Problem with that statement is also that the first protagonist is specifically stated to have developed the AGE-1: Frite (or Gullit) Asuno – Main character who developed the Mobile Suit Gundam AGE-1 equipped with the AGE SYSTEM. On the other hand, it's evidently not the first Gundam eve...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Mecha Thread Mk I
With all these shots of the 1/48 and the HG 1/144, is it me or does the silhouette of AGE-1 normal remind you of RX-178...good olde Mark II? There's something about the shoulders and legs.... And the little backpack fins. Yeah, I can definitely see the resemblance now that you've pointed it out. In...

Re: The Official Gundam AGE Anime Thread Mk 1
Okay, after my initial "Oh, [violate] me with a beam saber!" reaction, I have calmed down and gotten to the "Okay, we know almost nothing about this show" phase, meaning I am now able to give it a chance and see how this goes. True, my reactions to the designs and the concept are...
