Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
The foreshadowing was there its just that they probably could have done a little more with Messer before they killed him off. Explore the love triangle between him, Kaname, and Arad, maybe a final lesson for Hayate and Mirage. That seems a bit too cliche. A lead character has died already so let's ...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
Well there was a lot of foreshadowing but seriously its like they killed him to make the show a tad more dramatic, as if having a small kid singing brainwashing songs to the death is not enough. Well his death is most likely suppose to serve as personal motivation for Hayate and Mirage and probably...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
I guess I must be the only one whose reaction to what happened in the latter half of this episode can be summed up as "meh". It's probably because Messer is a character who, even with the marginal development he has received, I not only didn't like, but I didn't find all that interesting....

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
Well....crap that just happened
Spoiler
Granted Messer was already throwing up death flags with the whole Var syndrome, but I wasn't expecting it to happen in this episode especially given how light hearted the first half was.

"Suit up....Again"
Damn the nostalgia is strong with this one
While it doesn't have optimus prime this is still a very good trailer. I'm actually now a bit hyped for it.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Re: 0096 Anime Thread Mk I
Well at least this time Sunrise got the timing right so we didn't have to sit through an awkward transition scene like back in episode 3 when the Unicorn gundam transformed for the first time.

Re: The Official Gundam The Origin Anime Thread Mk I
He must have lost respect after seeing his father grieve for his son. Weakness will be preyed upon, and all that. It probably happened way before Garma's death In the Origin, Degwin wanted to avoid a war with the Federation as much as possible, and Gihren would have no doubt seen his as weakness. A...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I
Y'know, after catching up on the manga... is it alright for me to say that this jumped the shark? I assumed that the South Seas Alliance arc was going to be a small scale separatist movement and that the whole thing would be guerrilla skirmishes but this is a whole new major war set before 0083! I ...

For those interested, I found a translation of an interview with Okada about IBO back in March.

I like I like
Pretty good voice acting across the board especially Mikazuki and Mcgillis
Still a little bit concerned about JYB voicing Orga, but from what little I just heard his voice just might be deep enough to pull it off.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
Technically that is starting to happen with Barnes n Nobles selling gunpla, though granted its on a much much smaller scale compared to 10-15 years ago. Also, even back then there were significant markups on gunpla. The No Grades and High Grades were still affordable, but some of the Master Grades h...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
To quote the Emperor, "Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen". Hopefully unlike the Emperor everything will turn out and IBO will reignite Gundam in North America. While it has nothing to does with me myself, I wish it will done good enough that there will be official gunpla release...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Re: 0096 Anime Thread Mk I
I'm not sure that the OVA needed to be "remade" in the first place. At its core, that's wish fulfillment for fans who either demanded a more faithful adaptation or a more fleshed out and precise experience. I'm certainly the latter as I have complaints with how Episodes 4 and 5 were paced...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
The part about Ein not being the final boss was confirmed by Okada herself. Originally, Ein was suppose to die in either episode 2 or 3. Everything else, however, is unconfirmed to my knowledge. Though the part about Tekkadan taking heavier losses is possible given how the 3 episodes before the last...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Re: 0096 Anime Thread Mk I
Another cut to the beginning of the next episode. This one was MUCH smoother. Though granted Sunrise just lucked out this time since the begininng of OVA 3 didn't really need any editing. What I'm really interesting in seeing is how they'll handle the transition from OVA 3 to OVA 4. Anyway, how man...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
Skipping classes and vomitting in your insturctors face, and I thought Hikaru and Misa got off to a rocky start. Hayate is a lot more cocky than I thought he'd be though at least its more entertaining than irritating and by the end its seems he's been humbled a little bit. Despite her uptight attitu...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Re: 0096 Anime Thread Mk I
Well with episode 3 we have come to the end of the opening arc and unfortunately no new material to speak of. However, as I expected, there wasn't enough material left in the first OVA episode to fill out a 3rd TV episode so they used the first few minutes of the 2nd OVA episode. The episode ends wi...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Re: 0096 Anime Thread Mk I
Well, with exception of the 50 sec recap at the beginning, episode 2 picks up exactly where episode 1 left off, and everything is the same as the OVA. The episode ends with the Federation's incursion into the colony and the conclusion of the meeting between Cardia Vist and the Sleeves.
