Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
This is magnetic levitation, not something analogous to a hovercraft... and we're talking about an i-field able to exert enough electromagnetic force to lift tens of thousands of tons. Fair point, but we can modify the analogy to a magnet being able to levitate a piece of metal off the ground but f...

Re: The Official Gundam SEED FREEDOM Anime Thread Mk I
Well that's good news, I've seen a few clips and I'm looking forward to seeing the full movie.
It appears to be doing really well in the box office as well hitting 770M Yen (https://www.gundam-seed.net/freedom/new ... tegory_id=)

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
It's not actually generating aerodynamic lift, which is why I put "lift" in quotes... what it's actually producing is repulsion. To go back to my earlier analogy that explained the point, the Minovsky Craft system creates an i-field "raft" out of high-density Minovsky particles ...

Re: Spreading Minovsky Particles
Gundam 's official setting material is almost never that detailed or specific. No problem, I'm always happy to general answers over a specific or detailed one. I originally did not think there was that much detailed information regarding Minovsky particle density until I read the thread where Gunda...

Spreading Minovsky Particles
Previously I had some digging on Minovsky particles, how long it took to reach combat density and how long to it took to dissipate and then in this thread (https://www.mechatalk.net/viewtopic.php?t=18588) more than a few people were around to help answer whether a single ship would be enough to have...

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
Once again thank you for the quick responses. I don't recall any of the I-Fields in the show necessarily blocking physical projectiles? If you want to get technical about it, the Minovsky Craft system is a rather large-scale unconventional example... I'm not sure I'm following this one, the Minovsky...

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
Yes. The idea is that if you have a dense enough I-Field it protects against solid, since you don't need that density to protect against beams, it still protect against beams. I don't recall any of the I-Fields in the show necessarily blocking physical projectiles? Also you mentioned an I-Field on ...

Re: Bang Brave Bang Bravern
Agreed on the vehicle CGI not blending in and the tonal whiplash was bizarre, you could have cut the waterboarding scene and it wouldn't have changed much that episode. EP3 is another really fun episode, really hoping this show maintains the current pace and goes for 26+ or more episodes. Nice mix o...

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
None that I can find... the nanoskin's self-repair function does seem to get faster as time goes on, so it's possible it was either hampered by the suit's long interment or just got faster as it resolved problems and had to split resources across fewer repair tasks. I noticed this as well, after th...

Re: How do the explosive bolts on the Hyaku Shiki Kai Full Armor work?
It's MSV... it doesn't have to make sense or be properly explained. :P The explanation given is that it's basically an ineffectual shotgun-type weapon that fires explosive buckshot that doesn't have enough stopping power to actually hurt an enemy MS other than with a lucky hit on joints or cameras....

Re: Bang Brave Bang Bravern
The Seven Deadly Sins as the Death Drives' naming convention? Incidentally, 'Superbia' --Pride-- is represented by Lu cifer. Ah, good catch. The moment with Smith and Bravern was comedic gold in EP2, I wonder if Smith will be the future pilot of the Superbia. We may even get a gattai scene in the f...

Re: The Phasing out of the Pegasus Class?
So is it every explained why or when exactly the Pegasus Class ( and Trojan Horse Ships like the Argama and Nahel Argama in general) are phased out? For example the Titan's have no shortage of resources, yet aside from the Dogosse Giar they all have much smaller ships that almost seem like cruisers...

Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
I had a few question regarding the capabilities and limits on the unusual technology in the Turn A Gundam (https://www.mahq.net/system-a99/). Here's three to start: 1. Are there any source books that talk about how long it takes for Turn-A Gundam to use its nano self-repair abilities? For example if...

Re: Zeon MS Frame Compatability
I don't recall the Efreet being a successor unit to the Gouf, what I recall the Gouf was made by Zeonic and the Efreet was made by Zimmad but the Gouf ended up being chosen for production. As for parts Zeonic and Zimmad weren't really known for sharing a lot of parts, which is why the UMP came about...

Saw the first episode, it's a lot of fun. Really looking forward to seeing more of it, especially after seeing Bravern and the Titanstriders side by side in the ED.

Re: Grendizer U (TV) News
I recall seeing them doing a Saucer Beast competition earlier this year where fans could submit their own designs to be a saucer beast. I wonder if they will pull any ideas from the Grendizer Giga manga for the upcoming anime. I'm curious as to why Sayaka now has purple hair; the choice might have b...

Re: Aura Power in Dunbine
That makes sense that the 4 Aura Ships have their own Aura Generators, since presumably they would need a lot of room. Nah, the Billbine's definitely still running on the aura power supplied by the pilot. It's said to be one of the most demanding Aura Battlers ever built in terms of aura power requi...

Re: Zeon MS Frame Compatability
The recent Blue Destiny manga reboot (VOL 3 Stage 14) has the Efreet Custom destroying a Gouf and it's unit to take supplies and parts to repair the Efreet. Specifically it's right leg.
