Re: Reconciling After Colony Stats question
So you have various sources for After Colony mobile suits that seem to give wildly different ideas of what the Tallgeese is capable of, some say it can accelerate at over 15G or is it 20G. But then others still I believe merely say it can pull maneuvers that put 12G's of stress on the pilot(basical...

Re: Adding Obscure Mecha to games
Say someone was making a new crossover Mecha RPG game (It certainly ain't me aside from a silly personal TRPG). They want to fill it with lots of units, including the obscure ones, such as the variations from Dougram. Then there is the problem, there is virtually no information for these lesser kno...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
Do we've any idea how energy-intensive are VF stuffs such as the laser turrets, beam cannons, and pin-point barrier? For a few items, anyway... the VF-1's Mauler ROV-20 laser cannon is rated at 5,000kW, with the A-type having one, the D-type and J-type having two, and the S-type having four. Energy...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
Variable Fighters use some kind of hydrogen fuel, but what about the boring old fusion power plants? What do they use? I vaguely remember someone talk about using sea water because they contain lithium and deuterium. Variable Fighter Master File is the only publication I know of that goes into enou...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
You are right, I did get the wrong impression. But when I first read it, it was the first time I thought negatively of HG. Thank you for clearing that up. No worries... and yeah, HG certainly has spent twenty-something years making it EXTREMELY easy to think the worst of them. In practical terms, B...

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
As for the Mountain Cycles themselves , are they manmade mountains or did they form naturally over the units? Because if the mountains are natural that would take quite a lot longer than what seems to be implied. It's implied they started as natural formations... and have subsequently been covered ...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
I DON'T BELIEVE THIS!!! Those losers at HG went back on their promise to release the other Macross titles that hadn't been already released. Apparently it was announced two years ago and I am more appalled that I am the last to know. Go back HG to your "real" estate deals, you scumbags! ....

That's a more literal take on "history repeating itself" than I think the showrunners meant...MythSearcher wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 4:17 am But if you think about it, being a cycle is a great explanation why G-Reco is both before and after Turn A.

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
That kinda led me thinking about the mountain cycle naming. They are cycles because it happens in cycles. You dig deeper you get more. That was probably the intention behind the naming. The official released timeline picture shows other timelines merging into CC, they don't happen to overlap before...

Re: The proliferation of coordinator tech in Cosmic Era
Just when was the Earth Alliance formed? Was it before or after the start of the Cosmic Era? If they weren't organized into a world government yet, that would also hamper the ability to keep Coordinator Projects under wraps. The Earth Alliance was founded on February 7th, CE 70. It declared war on ...

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
Sure, it may be clear after reading the supplementary materials but I like to watch shows without reading on the background info first to avoid any spoilers. While the series does state the black history is in the past, that requires the viewer to believe that what they are hearing is absolutely tr...

Re: The proliferation of coordinator tech in Cosmic Era
Was it ever stated anywhere that the experiments that "created" George Glenn were done by a state-sponsored institution or a private party? Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: C.E. Mechanics and World is somewhat vague on the subject of who exactly developed the gene optimization tech that would lat...

Re: Metallic Rouge
Watched the latest episode of Metallic Rouge earlier, and it's another episode replete with examples of this show's problematic writing. It wants to do the I, Robot /Measure of a Man schtick, but only as a sideshow to fill airtime between off-brand Rockman X encounters with the Nean version of Irreg...

Re: Bang Brave Bang Bravern
For me, this most recent episode was definitely more tolerable than the last few. Not anything I'd call "good" or "enjoyable", but at least less irritating? My main issue with Bravern is that it won't pick a lane keeps wanting to be both a serious action series AND a goofy parody...

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
Are you referring to the part about inheriting tech they don't understand / can't maintain or the part about viewing alternate timelines? The part about viewing alternate timelines. The whole premise of Turn A Gundam is that there are no alternate timelines. That's why the title is ∀ Gundam . ∀ is ...

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
Well for one the moonrace has plenty of technology they inherited and don't understand. My read on the Black History is that they could view alternate timelines but could not interact or communicate with it. TBH, I'm really not sure how you arrived at that interpretation... it's definitely not what...

Re: Spreading Minovsky Particles
Several projects I've worked on have been due to the modern day's military desire for "Energy Resilience", something to allow the base or facilities to maintain power if civilian power is disrupted, so I wouldn't be surprised if in the Universal Century they had similar goals and Federati...

Re: Capabilities of the Turn A Gundam
I personally prefer that the Black History as showing multiple timelines that all end with the moonlight butterfly rather than one continuous timeline. That'd require the Moonrace to be pretty firmly on the other side of Clarke's Third Law... if they have the technology to access other realities wh...

Re: Spreading Minovsky Particles
Very interesting, I had known about the massive solar panels on the O'Neil cylinders but never noticed solar panel being the primary energy generator on Earth when I had watched MSG. There's a reason for that... the infrastructure is principally in space. Per the few official print materials to dis...
